    i was late for few days, they said price increase in June, i asked end-may already quote increased price...*sob! already ex le now lagi ex.. :furious: but bo bian..i fell in love with it.. ;)

    i thought ur sofa look like dark blue leh! it's grey?? :P i guess we'll be going down to choose soon since it takes abt 8 weeks to make..we saw a grey-ish beige kinda color at the show which i don't mind too.. :D

    Love your house and the sofa. we happen to buy a sofa from Wyn too and am trying to decide the color. Can i know which fabric code is your grey? saw that they have the "Gurney sack" grey material and the other one with black and white subtle strips and you can feel the strips. May i know which is yours?

    hopefully lor! friends should be ok, don't like also won't keep saying..mil already complain abt my floor tiles, cuz we chose the same tiles for whole house instead of parquet for rooms..say rooms parquet better, else got kids slp on floor no good..also got ppl say my brick wall no good, very hard, my kids will bang their head..den my open concept white kitchen also kana..i guess my cement screed wall will get comments too..and my mosaic wall grouts.. :bangwall: not sure if i can take it if ppl go round my place nit-picking on everything.. :help:

    got so hard to understand that i made my choices knowingly meh.. :bleah: i rather it look nice and don't last that long, than look ugly and last forever.. :furious:

    Haha I think i know all the possible comments you will received and ya lo how come they never realised that we made our choice knowingly. U exact same theory with me!! Haha rather nice and last 5 yrs than ugly and last forever haha. DIYing the mosaic grout again is not that difficult, you can do it every yr to renew it..

    But ur brick wall comment is funny !! Plain concrete wall not hard meh? If ur kids really like to bang the wall even normal wall they also will go bang.. Nowadays kids are so smart, they have good sense of judgement for obstacles.

    Yup during house warming I guess we really need to adopt selective listening technique!

    But still I feel overall should be good comments, I have the confident...

    I'm totally anticipating all sorts of comments for my place from my 'older generation' who probably still like the 'modern' feel and wouldn't get it. =/

    Same here!!! I'm procrastinating on my housewarming for the same reason. My mil was also quite negative initially commenting that the cement wall was not completed. But now she likes my place. Even my little nephew who is coming 5 says he like my place too.. So I guess maybe only a small minority can't take it ba.. Overall should be amazed...

    He was one of my consideration before. But I choose Kevin in the end due to better communication and follow up.

    Actually I think for contractor wise it is abit like that one as they do not provide detailed schedule like ID. And we usually need to keep asking them. And I guess contractors usually feel that most home-owners who want to engage contractors are pple who knows what to do so they expect we probably had researched all our things and just waiting for them to inform us then immediately we can go get it instead of start researching.

    So if there are things which u had yet to research then probably u need to tell Alan before hand and get his advice asap and start searching...

    I paid deposit for tt sofa during one expo fair..haven't choose color..! But probably grey or light brown?

    Actually decided not to have celing fan de but my place is small, don't look like we've space for standing fans..and I fell in love with haiku, white of course! Cuz suit my theme mah..but price increased and it's really heart pain!! =(

    that time when i was choosing color for my sofa, they have very little grey color options to choose from. in the end I chose this grey that I had... that time this was the lightest grey they had :dunno:

    Hopefully now they do have more color for u to choose.

    Though the haiku is not cheap... but it is really nice la.. very chic and almost everyone who came to my place comments that haiku looks great...happy~

    Notice you have a open concept kitchen, just to check with you when u on yr aircon in the living room will it be cool enough as some of the air will flow to the kitchen as well.

    My living room fan coil is 24kbtu so it is still ok to cool the place but not those super cold kind and actually we do not on our living room aircon often. So far only on once for testing haha..

    K is super well versed in industrial so u can try brainstorming with him.

    Really? U got this sofa too? Haha we same taste le. How abt color? What's the color u getting? I think I remembered they do have similar turquoise color but in lighter tone.

    For the haiku fan did u buy white or black one? White got stock available and more scandi.. Whereby black more industrial feel but think no stock till Nov I heard.

    Yes the phone can be use, but actually I have yet to activate my phone line, but decided to set it up first since my contractor happened to be there to help me drill hole.

    With this photo, I guess my reno is quite officially to be coming to an end.

    真有点难过，because I really like the renovation process. I really enjoyed the participation and anticipation, those hands-on moments also gave me great sense of achievement and contribution. I really felt that I had built my home with my own hands...

    Oh and I think that Franc Franc glass table with crooked legs will fit very well as coffee table!

    I guess its really quite suitable... hehe... but need to save up more money first then can change coffee table.. haha..

    Yup yup Defelio had it too in full chrome... I fell in love with his phone actually and by chance I came across a website selling that phone so I was super determined to get it. I just feel that this phone will look super good against a brick wall and when me and my contractor was brainstorming for the idea of tattered brick wall.. It just strike me that this will make a even better combination.

    Hi Pinkwhale, unlike the other houses that used brickwall, your place has a lot more character. Esp. your kitchen! Too many people are adopting similar brickwall-look for their place... not original at all. I like the fact that you have your own style despite also using brickwall. :)

    This brick wall was really a huge attempt for me and my contractor... I was super worried that it will not turn out well but he however was super relax...

    Brick wall was up on Tues and after i posted the pics here... I continued to sit in my living room staring into my brick wall - really "面壁思过" and I just cant seems to feel satisfied with the wall. Thus on Wed morning, I bug K again... kept whatsapp-ing to him that I'm not satisfied with the design of my brick wall and haha... despite his busy schedule, he came with additional 15pcs of brick to help me touch up the wall....

    Now it looks much better - looks more like a pc of wall haha... tomorrow is painting day... :dancingqueen:

    Very nice design! I like ur black bomb shelter!! Really got the Industrial feel... Ur WIW is very huge? U use more track lights than me haha.. I guess u r also using led bulb for those tracks and yes indeed very expensive lights! Haha..

    Your laminate flooring for the kitchen and living room really give the Ang moh feel... "like,like,like"

    Ya I agree... When we are into Reno we started to notice the decor of the shops and restaurants and we saw so industrial and scandinavan theme. But if it's still something you like then I guess u will still feel very happy living in the "restaurant" of ur dream.. Hehe.. Actually some of the shop/restaurant tried to create the cosy feeling so I think that's the importance..

    I think this is a very different white brick wall style - I actually wanted to do a tattered brick wall style... hmmm... i wont say we are 100% sucessfully... but it was a good attempt considering its the first time for us trying this kind of style and I couldnt find much sample/photos online to reference to :bangwall: :bangwall: :bangwall:

    now that its done... I need to learn to love it and accept it... K say very tired to do my brick wall though its just small pcs here and there but need to think and think how to layout the brick to make the design look nice and we need to complete it within today. And there were few hrs where K was not with me.. so I feel some layout decided by me... abit not so nice :~

    Now waiting for painting on Sat then this wall is completed, after that I will post pic again with the sofa and wall hang telephone in place.

    Nice kitchen! I wish to have open concept kitchen too.. but worry of the smell and maintainace if i cook.

    You used tiles for as your backsplash, isit easy to maintain or clean? and how u create the wall effect of the others side of ur kitchen wall!! :P

    yup I used moasic as my back splash... so far i'm using happy call pan for cooking so its not so bad... i just wipe over to clean.. not soooo bad.

    Smell wise is ok. I'm using a chimmy hood and happy call so the grease is still ok. wont reach the living room.. if u do alot of frying with normal pan... then I guess its tougher.

    the other side of the wall is rough cement screed effect.
