  1. ok thanks folks:

    This is what i'm expecting:

    1)Aircon trunking done

    2) Electrical - I have stick all my electrical point on the wall so will not miss out any

    2) Tiles up

    3) CityGas - Water & Gas Pipe?

    4) False Ceiling

    5) Carpentry

    6) Touch up

    7) Cleaning

where do i slot the lights installation? and LED fixing?

    after false ceiling up.

  2. settle electrical, aircon trunking, water and gas pipes.....go through a few rounds to make sure you have no more points to add etc. then do boxup and ceiling........

above done....then ask carpenter to come in to do measurements

  3. wow congrats man!

Finally you started to move in~

We been chatting and sharing for ages~ and finally project handover ~!

Arguing with ID hm.. :notti: but i guess she is patient enough to rectify all the outstanding issue?

Looking forward for your final product bro~

rectify is one thing. but late handover means late. no matter what they do, they can never rewind the clock right? so how to compensate for such issues leh?

  4. long time no update haha....since super busy.

quick summary, after many rounds of rectifications :bangwall: we have finally started to move in to clean up. was busy over last 2 weekends....settling the home appliances....sweep/vaccum/mop etc etc

also busy arguing with ID over the stuff that i am unhappy with namely tv feature wall in MBR and other small stuff.

anyway as promised, curtains have arrived.

  5. LED depends on what LED bulbs u're talking about

what u are really concerned with is the lux and light direction

for lux...use a light meter lor....or see a real life application (nothing beats that)

different people require different brightness to live with.

for e.g. I lived in house with white lights since young. go to a house with warm white lights, i feel its dark. but some live with warm white whole light. change to white lights, they complain eye pain/tired

therefore warm white/white depends on personal preferences.

for cove lights, the advantage i feel LED has over the normal T5/T8 is that u can have a thinner false ceiling.....(LED strip ma! less than 1 cm thickness lor....even LED downlights also short profile than normal downlights IIRC)

the other thing to consider is heat..................if u got aircon, then no diff. else, normal halogen/PLC might generate heat which LED don't

so er....analyse NEEDS (not wants), then wallet then decide :sport-smiley-004:

as for bright enough or not....see my thread u decide lor :) key part is what type of LEDs you use.

  6. Oh Simon, can u take a detailed photo of the master toilet vanity cabinet? You do have dark color cabinet below the hdb-weird vanity top right?

yes piknik we have cabinets below the vanity top. take pictures when I am there tomorrow for you :)

    Hi Simontsh,

Mind to share where you got your curtain?

Hi Bun, the curtain-maker recommended to me by my friend. Haven install the curtains yet....around 2 weeks lead time. will take photos when its up.

    .

so the LED strip can cover the living room already......

and here is another shot of the living. with all lights off except curtain pelmet LED.

    photo1nn.jpg

hopefully its not so bright with curtains installed. speaking of which...haven settle curtains! zzzz

  11. finally some updates

this week went very slow to the point i had to make some noise. ID say will try to handover by saturday but i seriously doubt possible.

    photo1oo.jpg

solid top is up along with the LED strip. take note this is the light from strip alone. I think its fixed too deep into the carpentry thus not as bright as it should be. not fully completed yet though. so will talk to ID to see if can change abit.

but as it is, the light switch on liao....more than enough for one to see and move around in kitchen. (grab drink etc)

    photo2du.jpg

    photo3rc.jpg

these are the strips in living room. now got the problem. the portion dangling in mid air one.....not suppose to be this way. thinking how to resolve. those wondering if bright enough.....i can say if you put colour that is close to white....it is bright enough to see the whole living room, watch tv etc. but for reading.....dun even think about it. spoil your eyes only.

my wife thinks at full white, dun even need to switch on any other lights. enough for daily use :dunno:

initially tot cove lights switch on for fun. downlights will be daily usage. now machiam is the other way round :bangwall:

I will try to take more photos of other colours for you guys to see. I believe sharing is caring :dribble:

    photo4ei.jpg

this is the LED light bought from chelsea lighting at foyer. enough to light up foyer.

iphone cannot capture very nicely the lights.....picture looks abit darker than real thing.

  12. I have asked about the bi-fold and PD doors if they are good. My contractor told me that as long you need to slide the doors, the material won't last long. Unlike push-in/out normal/glass doors, if malfunction, you only need to change two hinges which will cost lesser in future.

yeah i think the same too.....but cost and practical wise....its the only solution.

the hdb toilets are too small for swing doors....

  13. ID also need the boxup in the 2 rooms. then the aircon guy fast hand fast leg, installed all the blowers. intending to test and make payment this saturday

    photo4p.jpg

the aircon in MBR (above) is the highest it can go already...because above it is actually a beam that cannot hack one anywhere else will result in trunkings. :bangwall: thinking how to utilise the space above it. any suggestions?

    photo3sa.jpg

the one in living room looks very huge though

    photo2orm.jpg

    photo1ew.jpg

these 2 are in the rooms. boxup by ID.
