  1. seriously, no offence, but post reno cleaning?! the house is nearly empty with newly paint walls and perfect tiles? u even need a company to do so/ i rather have myself, or hire a part time maid to do so.

I am offended. I am 8 months pregnant now and simply cannot clean a three storey house myself. I also do not think it will be fair for my maid to do so. Please consider the context before you make such insensitive comments.

  2. Curtains / blinds:

You can try Vogue Furnishing , they have a home office at the east. Look for either partner, Eddie or Tony, 67899839 or 91376223. Both very nice chap. Wide range of samples & with excellent customer service.

We are engaging their service for all our rooms & balcony.

Hi, is it ok to say how much they are charging for the rooms and balcony? Do you need to go to the shop or they can come over with the samples?

  3. hopefully the wet works can complete by next week since my carpenter is coming in with the rest of the cabinets for the rooms as well. Cross my fingers that I can move my items from the warehouse by early October.

  4. Almost had a heart attack yesterday. The carpenter used the wrong basin for the dry kitchen. Luckily I went over to have a look and alerted him. The actual basin is too small for the hole that he had cut. Carpenter says it can be rectified with more strips of wood to 'patch up'. I dun know........ Somemore the basin is going to be undermount below the granite top. Will it affect?

The wet kitchen will be 'extended' to a L shape so that the space will be maximise. Will also add the tiles so that it will be easier to get rid of the oil and grease.

Remember the back fence? It's now this:

Brick wall built with an additional planter box for my herb garden.

The original windows on the left were not practical so decided to hack and change to sliding doors instead. Was worried the hacking would affect the marble floor but turned out ok. heng ah otherwise dun know where to get the same marble to patch back.

The windows at the kitchen were original the louvers kind. Changing them to sliding as well.

The two single rooms 'opened' for the MBR.

One of the toilet opening covered and changed.

    The MBR taking shape.

We've used polycarbonate material to make 'walls' to my WIW and to separate the MBR. The walkway will lead to the toilet.

  8. Since we were not the supertitious kind, we started work in August despite being the 'ghost month'. The more urgent issue was to get the house ready in time before I pop my no.3 in Nov. Hubbi and I co-ordinating this ourselves without ID coz we know what we want and we had contacts on the various companies since we had done this before for house no.2. I think I'm seriously crazy when I'm now into my third trimester and going around is kindof difficult. But what to do, the quotations were seriously even crazier when contractors see the address.

Original 3rd floor single bedrooms. Change to one MBR.

    DSCN1684.jpg

The toilet was originally outside and the WC and shower were separated. Now joining them together and adding walls so that the 3rd floor becomes the whole MBR.

Bathroom all hacked. Tub and tiles all removed.

3rd floor: Was two rooms originally. Now going to be the MBR. The bath was two different rooms, one for WC and one for shower. Combining to one L shape bathroom instead.

Original 3rd floor two single rooms before change.
