  1. totally agreed with you! some of the ids i meet up last time even try to get me to sign on the contract the first time we meet and i was like, hey do u really understand what we want and our needs? cant stand this kind of ids
  2. hello all, its been a while since i posted here. Just to share so experience i had with them recently, Last saturday my study room light for no apparent reason just died on me, i gave willy a call and ask him to help. This morning at 9am, his guys came and try to rectify the problem and realise that one of the light fitting that i purchase from ikea is faulty thus causing the issue. I felt so ashamed, because when i was on the phone with willy last saturday, i actually blame his electrician for the lousy work. who know is the light fitting from ikea causing the problem. After realising the prob, willy was kind enough to ask me to get a new light and he will arrange for his guys to come back to do the installation FOC for me even after months of handover and we are still getting very good after sale service. ps: maybe its because i refer alot of frens to him thats why
  3. wow my message box is full of request to provide my ID contact and also asking about the serivce and materials provided and all.... very lazy to reply all via the message box, I was served by Willy. you all can contact him on his email willy@ahomestory.com.sg I will not put his contact number here as I never got permission from him. i will try to sum everything up here. before i start, i got renotalk members asking me the reason why i engage him as my ID. when i read this i was like isnt it very obvious that we are very comfortable with him and can communicate well with throughout the selection of id period. if we dont find him comfortable to work with, we wont even engage him in the first place. I must say again that althought their pricing are not the cheapest one that we had received, but i believe the materials that i had received are of good quality. I went to one of their on-going projects during the selection phrase, we inspected the workmanship of the carpentries works (literally feeling all the corners of the doors and wardrobe to see if there are any sharp edges, we are also given the chance to "slam" all the cabinets doors and kitchen drawers to test if all doors & drawers are equipped with soft closing hinges and if it works well) i must say it never failed. We also notice that the interior of all carpentries have coloured laminate finishing. this is a bonus points for us as we don't like the white colour interior of carpentries as it will turn yellowish over time and also make the renovation feels "cheapo". beside the materials and workmanship that we saw, during the drawing on our floorplan, he also give us alot of advise whether can things be done according to our liking and the pro & cons of the renovation work. To give an example, initally we wanted to have a raised platform area for our master bedroom and we ask all the ids we met if its good to have platform bed. we received several general comments from them and not in details (its like trying to brush us off) however, from willy, he told us that a platform bed is nice and generally sought after by young couple however, in the event if my wife were to get pregnant, it will be a headache as pregnant mum will have difficulty trying to get up from the platform bed which is so low to the ground. We were shocked and yet happy. Not did he proposed ideas from our renovation, he also think further than us and advised us on this issue that we, a newly wed couple, never think off. But in the end, we still wanted a platform bed for our room I believe that in the profession of all interior designer, they should advise clients on any "problems" that they may face. Come to this point, there is this id whom we think is a contractor rather that ID, he say, "aiya platform bed is like sleeping on the ground, you want to to save $ right, you just put your mattress on the floor then its like platform bed lor." and he started laughing think its a joke, I was on the verge to shoot him with the F words when he said that! therefore after going through all the IDs and quotation we met, we decided to engage willy as our ID for our home. During the renovation process, he updated us weekly on the renovation progress. Even though he will update us, but as a true blue singaporean. we will also go up to check on the progress of works just in case haha! There was once we went up we saw the entire house with masking tape all over, finding it werid, we called willy and check whats with the masking tape?! to our relief, its the result of willy's inspection. He go around the house and inspect and paste masking tape on areas which is not done up to his expectation! we find this good too! instead of us having to inspect the house and find fault at the workmanship, he is the one doing all this! but there is once we find that the painting not up to our expectation, we immediately give willy a call even its at 11pm! I must apologise to call him so late but he will still answer our call and get the workers to rectify the problem immediately. therefore during the final inspection, we have no problems with all the works and happily accept the house back from him. Even though its been 2months after we had our place back, I still called willy up as there is something wrong with my cove lightings which we don't know why and within a week, he had his guys up to rectify the problem and we realise that is something wrong with the light blub and not the connection and we had it replaced. overall if you want me to rate their service, it will be as follows: Pricing: Reasonable price with good qualities materials given Service attitude: 10/10 Design: 9/10 Materials: not sure how to rank this but should be of good qualities Workmanship of carpentries: 9/10 Painting: 8/10 Tiling: 9/10 (tile price given up to $3.50 with gst) After sale service: 9/10 Overall: 9/10 I had my house warming party and all my friends and relatives like the works done in my house and i also recommend 2 friends over to Willy. Hope willy will be able to handle both of them too
  4. anyway if you all are wondering how my house look like, you can go to their facebook page and see. they upload the 3d drawing for my place. Click here to view
  5. haha thanks for the information but i must say that Willy accompany us to the lightings shop that we want to go. we went to lighting.com shop where we research that the lights there are not expensive. kudos to willy! never even complain for the long hours spend with us well ppl, willy handed over the project over to me on the 2th of March. Time taken from entire project : 9 weeks including all hoilday & CNY period! although there are some minor touching up after they handed over the house to me, i must say their service is still prompt and good! Thanks so much for the effort spend by Willy & his team of contractors/workers

  7. hi all, just to share, we went for wallpaper, bathroom accessories, lightings shopping over the weekend and i must agree to what willy had advise us prior to our appointment with us. he told us that its going to be a long long day and its really a long long day! we met willy at 11am and went for lightings & bathroom shopping first. wow, when we enter the shop we were like omg, there are so many range to choose from and everything look so pretty! must really give it to willy, his patience with us is definitely recommended. he had narrowed down most of the items that he suggested that we should have, but its us who cant decide, all the things that he recommend is so nice! we spend almost 2-3hours selecting all the bathroom accessories and lightings. Next stop, wallpaper selection. didnt really expected that the price range for wall paper range from a few hundred to thousand and there is also a seperate charge for installation. its really crap that they cant provide free installation, do they expect us to DIY?! eventually we only get the wallpaper for the living room and masterbedroom due to budget. it was really a tiring day but its fun at the same time!
  8. i agree! thats what Willy did. Asking alot of questions which help us in choose the details and colours...
  9. i wanted to do cement spreading for my kitchen wall but was advise that its not gonna last long. is that true? is it due to the expansion n contraction of the building?
  10. wow your quotation is much more expansize than what my ID quote me.... $5200 for a wall is too much i think!
  11. can anyone advise on whether i should use T5 or led for my cove lighting? Thanks
  12. Since i start this thread, think i should share a little of my experience with them. About their service ~ Even before we pen down and sign the contract with them, we must agree that Willy has always been punctual, attentive & nice to work with & able to meet up late in the evening and meeting us at where we requested. Whats best is that he is not pushy at all and will not force you to accept his design (unlike other designer i met who insisted that we must accept his space planing design) this is also one of the factor why we choose their company to do our renovation work. Another factor why we sign with them is that their contact is very detail leaving no rooms for hidden cost, no GST, and also the better quality materials that they are giving like, soft closing for all cabinets door, all inner of carpentries are with coloured interior which i find is good rather that the ugly white interior and all drawers for wardrobe comes with glass panel. For the price that we are paying (their quote is not the cheapest or the most expensive) i must say that it is really value for money as compared to other quote that i receive from well known interior company. About their design ~ after signing the contract with them, we had meet up twice discussing about the design and going through past design / magazine / cut out that we like so that we can have them to mix and match into the 3Ds design. It took them about 10days to present to us the first set of drawing. Understand that 3Ds will take quite a while before its complete. When we first see the design on the paper, we are very happy as it is what we had discuss in our past meeting. Must really give it to Willy as we quite demanding as it comes to the design that we want to achieve and by keep probing us with ton of questions about what we really like and telling us what is practical it really helps to come out with nice design and really fit our requirement. thats all for now... will update again soon when i got time... happy new year to all
  13. hi smallgalchong, if you dun mind i can pm you my ID. he is very responsive and doesnt really sales talk which is also one of the reason why we choose him.
