  1. hi, check out the discussion here

Oh my.. the price is abit too steep. Guess i will just consult my electrician and see what he says. I need just 2 more power points in the middle of my main prep area for my deep fryer and other misc appliances...

Depending on how you want to do it, it may not causes new trunking.

For example, if you currently have 1-2 at the preparation area, you can add 1-2 more points directly next to the current block. The electrician can drill a hole and extend the wire across. However, if you want to add points where there are no existing trunking, then its very likely you will have to create new trunking.

I think contractor from electrical shops can do sufficiently well. Its your choice. I would typically base this on cost, but your contractor might know your house better. Alternatively, if your contractor don't mind, you can try dealing directly with the electrician that he uses. Might get you a better rate.

Noted bro... thanks for the advise :P Cheers!

  2. actually you can consider the eubig system where you only need one point to extend out to as many as sixteen plugs

the system is pricey though, but it'll be less of an eyesore if you have all concealed points :bangwall:

however, if you dun mind the trunking then it's okay bah

can expand the existing sockets or pull one more to the kitchen :~

Really can ah? Then should i look for my ID or should i just get a contractor from the electrical shop downstairs my house?

By the way do you have the website to this Eubig systems? Can't seems to locate it in the net leh. Thanks!

  3. Everything have pros and cons. Small means less effort to maintain and you get more time to enjoy your nice house.

Yup i so agree with you... So far maintaining of my house is very relaxed. Not as torturing as compared to cleaning up my parent's 5-room flat... That one.. back breaking... lol

Our is also a 3 room flat. BTO in Sengkang. 70sqm. But I only have half of your budget for renovation.. Hopefully can do out something half as nice as your.. :notti:

Well, you have to really sit down and spend alot of time planning on the necessaries. What do you need for your flat.. Storage? Save Space? Design?

For me, the most important thing is storage as i'm staying in a 3-room flat. That means no store room. Therefore i need alot of cabinets to store my barang barangs. Also on the other hand, due to space constrain.. i cannot afford to buy furnitures as they are by standard too big for my space thus going for custom built ins will do the trick. Do only what you need like tv consoles, sofas etc... thats only if you are particular over the overall outlook of my house like i do.. lol.

But there are pros and cons in built in furnitures... if one day the furniture spoil.. how to take out? This is the question you should ask yourself. But of course built ins will make your space look more clean cut and sleeker. Best is to practise regular maintenace.

  4. Only one word..WOW.:furious:! worth every $$.. i am drooling.... Congrats Bro..

Yeah man... you're right.. its worth every single penny spent. I'm very satisfied with the outcome.

Thanks chipee & xia0xue... dun drool too much.. lol later both of you flood my house...

your house is really cool!:jawdrop:! I love the design..makes one dun feel like going out , stay at home whole day relax...

Yah man.. ever since i've shifted into my new place.. i have been slacking at home most of the time after work. Just dun feel like going out man. Too cosy already.... just feel like lazing around.

  5. BEAUUUUTIFUL! :deal:

you must be very proud to own this house. How come you got squarerm contact?

Really like your study area. Like it being neat and tidy and free of wires. How much does it cost to build the table?

Your house really look very spacious....very bold on the feature wall too. Heheh...I had the same tiles but I used it for my toilet feature. :notti: Still love the tiles to-date...(I moved in 3 mths ago)

I haven't seen your dining table, you have one?

Hehe.. dun say like that.. there are other many homes which are nicer then mine. For Square Room, they got my contacts through my ID as he thought they might be interested in featuring my home in the mag.

The study table costed me around 2k excluding the top hang cabinets.

Yeah, having a small 3 rm flat.. thats the main reason why i choose to do built in furnitures. To save space and to make the flat looks sleeker and nicer.

For dining table, i do not wish to get one as i will be using my coffee table as my dining table. Can watch teebee while eating mah. Somemore dunwan to make the place look so congested by adding a dining table.

so your house warming you will invite all of us? :yamseng:

me will be the first to report

then drool over the sink :)

    :notti:

Haha dun worry you guys will sure be invited one. I will update you guys on the date of the housewarming. :seeya: Then you have the whole day to drool over my sink. lol

  6. haha..ya..i like this too..but u must hav a big spacious kitchen to do tat leh..haiz...mine dun...so can see n envy only... :yamseng:

Ehhh... actually my kitchen is very small. Its just that the camera man used a very wide angle lens to shoot this view thus making the kitchen look very long. :) One day during my house warming, you guys may want to come over and see see look look.

hi weishun, is that a moulded sink i see?

it's also from your solid top ah

very envious of pple who got the budget to do so :deal:

Yup, you've got it.. thats a moulded sink. Only thing i'm worried bout is what Mist has highlighted.. STAINING. Extra care must be taken in order to maintain its colour.

  7. wow the pix are really nice

but looks a little like CGI leh :P

think the photos you take are nicer :)

Yah yah! Thats what i thought too but i guess its their camera. Picture quality too sharp too good liao. They use image blending to do up the pictures... thats why the picture is nicely lit up and thus making the image look like a CGI image.

wow man...your house is fantastically done up ! 8|

Photo nicely taken as well ! :P

    Thanks bro! :)

hey, ur coffee table is from IKEA right?

i saw it and will be getting the same too, but will be getting the black-brown color... :)

Yup, its from Ikea. Cheap and good and most importantly, it blends in together with my furnishings.

  9. i love the dark colours of your walls.. i got black floor tiles in my kitchen, and after living in it for half a year, ants are starting to come. so i like to follow the trails of ants to find the nest. but i realised its v hard to track ants trails or kill insects once they started walking on my black kitchen floor. grr.

Yah man. In the beginning, i also used to have ants problem but after having all corners of my house sprayed with insecticide, the problem is solved. Its very difficult to try track down the nest cos the nest could be either inside or outside the house.

Congrats! soon u be seeing your very own lovenest in magazines!!

Thanks bro! It will be July's issue of Square Room megazine. :dribble: Also thanks to bro Devilaz & lifestyle for their nice comments. Cheers!

Haha yah man.. this is what i thought so too. Now thinking whether wan to do some tinting designs like some bar lounge did but i think it would be in the later part. Big hole in my pocket liao. I also share the same thinking as you, also worry that one day wake up in the morning blur blur go and walk through the glass. I injured nevermind.... but my glass cannot injured leh... :(

  12. Hi,

your house looks great! Check with you what is the original ceiling height?? Able to do false ceiling?Coz I am also going to renovate my 3rm..but the old HDB flats ceiling height is only 2.4m which is the minimum clearance height..so if we were to do false ceiling...will it appear to be too low and scared HDb dun approve...

Having a hard timing trying to think of ceiling works and design...

How much did your reno cost??

Ehh.. I'm very sorry to say that i'm not sure of my ceiling height cos everything is being planned and settled by my designer. But for your information, my flat is also an old HDB blk and flat. 21 years old block liao. I'm very sure you are able to do false ceiling cos my did it for my flat. My reno costed me 40k, abit on the high side as i'm very particular over design and concept.
