  1. My place is over 25 yrs old and am looking at reno for kitchen. Want new countertops and cabinets. Some id/contractors say must demolish / hack everything, 1 even said after hacking floor will be damaged so need new tiles, other says can keep sink support and lay new countertop over it. Please advise. For new cabinets and countertop need to hack everything?
  2. A little over 3 years ago, reno 1 bathroom and replaced with Baron. Don't remember the model. Worst choice ever!! They said the they use the Geberit system which is good European quality etc etc etc . About a year ago had issue. Water from tank flowing into bowl. Called them and they replaced the flush valve. Now , again same issue. I think its the fill valve this time . Tried to fix ourself but no use. Calling a plumber is so ex! So to all out there STAY AWAY FROM THIS BRAND . While trying to find ways to fix checked out a few videos and even some of the plumbers say the dual flush, push button, "modern" type are not so good quality.
  3. Hi all, Just finished bathroom reno and used woodlooking porcelain tiles. Supposed to use black grout but contractor used cement and now grout is light grey. Looks terrible with my tiles. Read online that can recolour grout with some products but have no luck at hardware shops , Homefix, self fix etc.. Anyone knows where I can find this DIY grout stain/recolorant/seal ?
  4. Am looking at renovating the 2 bathrooms. Never renovated, same tiles as per when bought from HDB 20 years ago. Should I layover floor tiles or hack? Different contractors with diff advise...
  5. Hi All, Im thinking of laying over kitchen and 2 bathrron tiles (if budget permits). Ive seen this type of flooring offered by Faith Coat which seems pretty nice. Also it cover grout lines which hopefully means no more hard scrubbing to get between tiles! Its also cheaper than relaying tiles. Has anyone had it done? What is its life span ? Can someone please advise if I should go for this over relaying tiles.
