  1. Wifey and I were discussing the clothesline yesterday and given the high ceiling we have, I got to think of something that is easy to hang the clothes - I was thinking something retractable. I came across this company, Ezzi Living, and their automated (EZ Bella) and manual (EZ Lift) retractable clotheslines. You can check out the pics and product demo video on their website - www.ezziliving.biz I need to take some measurements to see whether it will work for our laundry. Has anybody had installed/used either of these? I noticed that mrspiglet has used another of their products. You can see it on her t-blog (http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=18317&st=800)
  2. Off to see tiles @ Hafary tomorrow. I have read from others that this is the place to go for good tiles at a reasonable price. Hopefully be able to get some samples/pics to give a sense of what we are looking to do. Are there any other places we should check out for tile selection?
  3. Hi Defelio, I am about to set out on my own renovation journey and was contacted by your ID, Douglas, and he referred me to your t-blog. Are you willing to share any comments/reference for his work? Can you PM me? I tried to PM you but I think inbox full maybe. Appreciate any feedback you can provide. Your renovation turned out really well and, from your comments, to your satisfaction. Like a lot of others, looking forward to seeing your kitchen pics.
  4. Hi Hin, That is great information. Thanks v much. I'll see if I have any luck with the building management. If not, I'll be down to the BCA.
  5. Thanks patsy. I will check with condo mgmt. hope to get more feedback on the quote from other members. keep us posted on your progress and i'll be sure to update on our progress as we get along, so do check back in!
  6. Thanks so much for the advice. We are thinking of using a ID recommended by an uncle we know. I have posted the quote on my reno t-blog link (in signature). Would really appreciate if you could take a look and let me know if it looks reasonable. I also have some current photos (not many). We have a little one on the way (due in Dec) so trying to rush things through before then - will be tight! Definitely no knocking out bedrooms. If anything, I need to try and utilise the so-called maid's room as a single bedroom, and add shower to the yard toilet area to accommodate parents & in-laws!!
  7. Hi...great to see the progress there. I really like the painted brick feature wall.
  8. Hi there, great to see the progress on your renovation. From the thread it seems tht you are quite the expert! I am embarking on our first reno and so much to consider. my wifey and I are just at the start, trying to get a good quote. Any tips, hints on how to ensure all goes smoothly?
  9. I got some photos of the current place... From the living room, looking towards dining area and doors to bedrooms (wifey really hates the door colour!) The living room Master bedroom (planning to change the flooring and the window aircon) Only got these photos for the moment. None of the kitchen (which needs the most work). Will upload when I get time later.
  10. I am a total newbie....MCST? is that the management committee?
  11. As promised, this is the quote provided by one of the IDs we have approached. Would appreciate if those more experienced in the process can comment on whether this looks reasonable or are we being overcharged? 12. Hi all, We recently bought a resale private apartment and are about to embark on our home reno project before we move in. The place is pretty old and in need of an upgrade. Wifey and I have seen a few IDs and are close to settling on one (hopefully in the next few days). I will provide the quote in the next entry and perhaps can get some feedback from more experienced folks on whether the quote looks reasonable. Unfortunately, I don't have a floor plan to share just yet as the previous owner's weren't able to provide one. Any ideas on where I can get one for a private resale apartment?
