good morning, gals! blue sleepy monday kat, wanna ask u if u have any probs mopping the floor since u do not have skirting?? coz the contractor says without skirting might spoil the wall when mopping, be it cracking of paint when the mop hits the wall or coz of the water moisture in contact we're tinking if shd do away with the skirting showed hubby ur t-blog photos

same thing happened to us we oso feel that the designer is pretty new... there wasnt much designing done instead we were asked where we want to place this and that and etc more of we are doing the designing ourselves so why do we need to engage an ID instead of contractor in this case?

ask u to shop for items required at home not for clothes!!

actually we want tempered glass door!! C1 says dangerous to kids wor... but then again, if we just do a panel of sliding door, then will need to relocate the switch if we do 1 fixed panel and 2 sliding doors, then dun have to relocate the switch and that i tink cannot use glass doors... if overall is fine, tink will engage his services coz all these details can be ironed out later on correct?

i oso tink so abt the wooden doors like wat i told my fren, i feel the 1st contractor just enforced his ideas on me loh... something that i'm not comfy with but if use Al pvc door will look like toilet door? told C2 yesterday that i dun want ppl to mistaken that thot is a toilet he said wont... believe he will show me how it looks like

ya... but some items not included, eg painting etc. i know C2's painting cost 1k or 1.1k and C1's painting is 1.2k both using same type of paint oh the skirting he just put it in. i havent tell him i dun want it yet. anyway can see the cost like dat mah the sliding door at kitchen entrance oso diff material C2 says wooden door will look quite clumsy coz the area is small. this i agree coz in the first place, i didnt really want wooden door and with wooden door edge, the glass panel will have to be very small coz there will be 3 panels (1 fixed, 2 sliding) so that i do not need to relocated the switch location

if tile spoilt / crack then charge by per tile loh.... else? i oso dunno i only know the normal ways ppl do it is by psf

hmm... C2's workmanship i can guarantee but C1's workmanship i only saw the kitchen's and he says none to show me when i asked to see his workmanship only those at his shop, which are done 20 to 30 yrs ago or something like dat... isit? my mum always cook leh. i love it!! yummy!

kat, i like cereal prawns and i hate to shell the prawns oso leh hello! i'm back!! just received the quote from the other contractor yesterday not all items are the same... some i asked him to include he forgot, some he included but the 1st contractor didnt all in all, his flooring is cheaper by 1k! coz he charge by psf... kitchen wise cost i believe is almost the same but some suggestions he gave is more practical. eg. the sink, he did not include in. when i talked to him abt it yesterday, he said he can just get it and install for me coz it is not an expensive item the first contractor charged me 450 for sink! i wonder if he includes in the sink base or wat... else why so expensive?!! 1st contractor (C1) vs 2nd contractor (C2) Item1: cabinet + washing machine base cost $350 for C1 cabinet + washing machine base + fridge base cost $280 for C2 Note: 2 ft more for cabinet base for C2 Item2: Flooring cost $7k for C1 and $4.2k+$420 (skirting) for C2 C2 says if there's any items i find it expensive can still negotiate with him... personally prefer C2 oso hubby says leave the decision to me but scare sekali C2 after signing got prob then i die... btw, C1 didnt quote for master haulage and chemical cleaning leh...
