  1. Just want to bump up my review for Carol Lim from Summit. Recently decided to install CCTV for my home and was quite worried about the extra wiring and ugly trunking that might be visible, decided to drop her a message to ask if she have someone who can help me with that at a reasonable price and she didn't disappoint! Even remembered that my husband is usually the coordinator (haha...) and informed me that she will help me ask for a quote and contact my husband directly. Thumbs up for Carol on her intiative and thoughtfulness - A genuinely satisfied customer of Carol 5 mths into enjoying my home!
  2. Hi! My 4 rm flat at Strathmore was renovated by her team this year, have been enjoying it since May! Her follow up is very prompt, and I like that thou she is not very vocal, she has good ideas and initiative, for me that's key. Workmanship and after sales service is good too, found a small chip on my tile some time after handover and she sent someone down to fix it very soon. My two cents worth!
  3. Finally moved in and more or less settled down! Pics to come soon but first, I want to give my ID a well-deserved testimonial: Carol Lim from Summit Design Studio Was going to go for the few frequently mentioned IDs initially upon forum reviews but she was assigned to me when I first called them. After a few meetings and email exchanges, found that her follow up is fantastic so decided to sign up with her! Design wise, mainly used my own ideas cos I already knew what I want, but she gave constructive technical advice as to whether things were feasible or not. During the reno process, some serious / minor hiccups were encountered but she was always prompt to follow up with solutions, even tried to make things easier for me cos she knew I was on leave for only a day and tried to get her workers to come in for after-reno touch-ups all on that specific day. Carol also noticed little things (that we never even noticed but were essential) and took initiative to rectify / improve them on her own e.g. rubber stud for the glass shower screen to prevent it hitting the wall, hook for laundry line... Response after handover was good too, no MIA after final payment. Thumbs up! Thanks so much, Carol!
  4. The wrongly placed (dining) chandelier that looks so right in my bedroom! Off it goes on wednesday tho
  5. Shower screen up kitchen carpentry Taking a big risk with this marble-like laminate. This should be the dining bench for my dining booth area. Still with plastic wrapping on, so can't tell yet. hope the outcome will be good cos this will occupy a HUGE wall in my living room, the TV feature wall.
  6. Update: ID firm has accepted responsibility for the stains and found them to be mostly water marks (apparently the cleaners left the water to evaporate on its own after washing! big no-no for granite to have water sitting on it!) Read up and found that water marks can be permanant! Advice anyone? They have proposed a solution and arranged for professional cleaning, hopefully it works and won't delay our move-in. Will update with more pics once carpentry is up this week.
  7. Just when we thought reno is almost over, a BIG hiccup with the granite flooring we kept. long story short, it is BADLY stained now, paint stains, brown (coffee?) stain, dark grey big patches. Extremely upset but still waiting for ID firm's investigation. But their attitude is still good so far, no shirking (tho no admitting) of responsibility so far. Too bad we had no proof of the original state, but common sense will tell us that no homeowner would spend 60-70k on reno n furnishing n keep an extremely stained granite flooring right from the start right? We studied the flooring many times since key collection n it did have minor light stains that we decided we cld cover/close an eye but definitely nowhere close to this state. Hope prob will be addressed n resolved soon! Other areas of Reno still satisfactory tho. Sigh.
  8. Tiling almost done for the walls, and decided that I love it afterall. Husband's choice: Resort feel Textured feature wall tiles, but can't really see clearly here.
  9. Marble-like toilet tiles! Yay or Nay?? Looking forward to final results! Black marble-like tiles (half done) for shower area

  11. Hi! Didn't realise my bathroom uses downlights and bought 2 ceiling lights (one silver, one black) with warm lights from lightings.com.sg by mistake. Suitable for use in bathrooms / kitchen. Letting go at reasonable price. Reno update: Hacking and tiling have started! WIll update pics once there is more progress maybe later this week! Everything is just a concrete mess now Wallpaper and curtains also selected. The shop didn't have a wide selection (we did find something we like tho), but prices for the curtains were reasonable, fingers crossed about the quality! Day and night curtains for living, two bedrooms and rollerblinds for study room for about $2100. Washable fabric A bit nervous about how the wallpaper will turn out tho! THE husband chose them and did I mention we have TOTALLY different tastes? Lol.
  12. Hmm, maybe get one with light kit then, thanks!
