ID have finalise the dimension and base will be 250mm, so bit more leg space.

The width of the table is 800mm and base is 300mm. But mine will be done in solid surface top so it will be much lighter than granite, so if you use 300mm maybe i can reduce to 200mm All the best in your reno too.

I think so, when i was young, my parent house back then was having this design too.

And this is what I thinking of doing when I got the floor plan. Will be relocating the store so that all bdrm doors opening are beside one another. Will hack and re-construct wall btw master and bdrm 2 for master wiw, balcony will be level to form part of living, and have open concept kitchen.
