When we return from a holiday trip from HK on Oct 2011, we actually plan an additional day to rest but we decided to look at some houses on our dream location out of spontaneous mood. Texting a few property agents and there we goes, really never intend to buy any house just merely wana see see look look. What happen next? This is only the third houses we've seen within the same location on the same day and "WHAM"...we decided it in our mind! Yes.. in our mind cos we never intend to purchase anything right from the beginning. The next few days onwards, we were busy discussing the details and negotiating the COV. Anyway thanks to the garment, without them we wouldn't have purchase a resale and pay high COV for it. Ok cut it short, I'm here to share and contribute back to the forum since we have learn quite a fair bit from the forumners here. Thanks to all!

Hi tioshue, I have a question for the megabulb lamp by sofie refer since u got it. Can u use normal E27 edison bulb for the replacement? If u can't use other replacement, is it easy to purchase the bulb in any of our neighbourhood store? pls help as i'm considering to purchase it. thanks

  3. Alamak!!! Ur scaring me coz i hv laminate flooring for my 3 bedrooms :( Krono Original laminates with 15 yrs warranty.

    I will pm u shortly k.

poppy dont scare, hope mine is an individual case. But let me share with u, can't rem the brand i use but the laminate floor really can't stand water at all. Say if u drop a few drops or puddle of water leaving on the floor and forget to wipe immediately, the surface will pop pretty soon. U can't always keep track of such small details right. Then came the next problem, the climate of our island is unpredictable nowadays, the temperature will caused the laminated pieces to shrink or expand randomly...this will caused a obvious gabs between the laminate pieces. Ok...i think i scare u liao...but like i say, mayb mine is a cheap laminate floor bah. :dunno:

Forgot to mention this, all this happens within a year. :furious:

  4. Hi all,

Have always been a silent reader of the forums without contributing. Thus, with the arrival of my new house, I decided to start a t-blog to document the progress of the renovation journey and maybe contribute to the forum if possible haha.

Basically, me and my partner wasn't prepared for the flat as we got it via the Sale of Balance Flat in which we would get the keys to the new flat much much much earlier than expected! It was mixed feeling for us because we were prepared to wait for BTO flats which would mean ard 3 to 5 yrs of waiting and letting us time to save for it but instead we got the keys to the new house in July 2011!!

Hi, may i ask which area do u get ur Sale of Balance flat? Your view seems good though. We failed to get ours and I quite envy u for able to get one. End up we are getting a resale flat now :bangwall:

  5. From my contractor :)

He told me abt the wood, but i had forgotten :( But according to my frenz, it's good :)

I intend to do my future home entirely with timber floor except kitchen and bathroom. I've seen how laminate flooring works, half a year to within 2 years....it sure will turn into nightmare...so timber is better. Now i'm still researching the cost of timber floor.

  6. You still want my contractor's number? :)

Poppy, i want it! So sorry I thought u not comfortable sharing initiately so i nv ask liao. Thanks so much, pls pm me :) Btw, if not too much to ask....u mind share ur quotation with the breakdown? I see u cover the breakdown portion at the start of this blog. Thanks again :sport-smiley-018:

  7. Hi, do u mind share with me ur ID or contractor? U seems to envision alot, wonder do u got any 3D drawing before e reno starts? Else, ur contractor must b v good too inorder to share e same pictures in ur mind without a drawing :)

  8. Hi Denimart, sorry it's confidential, hope you understand..

Best that you speak to your IDs and compare the quotes. You may show your first quote to other IDs(w/o their knowledge, by right I think you can't do that) but I guess they would try to match that price/quotation but maybe with a lower material or something, I dunno for sure. I believe it's best to see what each ID can offer you then you counter quote them.. Sorry for blabbering if I sound like 'm talking crap lol.

Price should differ from time to time depending on the price of materials.

Your first appointment with the same ID I went to?

Hi thanks Defelio, no problem at all...its a learning lesson for me as i'm new in this area. No, actually i bought a resale and first appointment is coming so thought of preparing soon for the reno. Btw, i like your house alot and very much look forward to your pics. Will u show us your bath room? i really wonder what u had done with your bath room :dribble::D
