  1. Wah! Such a cool shoe cabinet! Remember, don't put shoes above head level. Some even say waist level. But real hard. I am trying to keep below shoulder and it is already a challenge! Luckily some shoes are still at my mom's house!
  2. Oh no! I realised how bo chup I was. When I went up, all the carpentry were up already. It just looks pretty and ready. I never seen my reno having these kind of 'raw' look. Oppies! Hope my cupboards still continue to stay strong. I am stuck in that house for at least 20years. Unless I buy private property, if not, no chance to move out of the house cos of the HDB levy =( Maybe I should start saving now for the next reno in 10years time =D
  3. Oh dear, I never knew there is so much about water pressure and the co-relation to the height of the block. Hmmm, I live on the 3rd floor of a 16-storey block. Also have rain shower. But it doesn't bbbbbbssssshhh la. Feels like just water coming down, tho not a drizzle. Was initially kinda disappointed. Cos don't have the pitter patter pitter patter rain-drop feeling. But I did try a few rainshowers in the hotels e.g. crown prince at T3, some KL hotel that uses the grohe kind. But also didn't get the bbbbssssshhh feeling. So I thought it was normal. Maybe beany, one day you come over and test test see.
  4. OOoooo, good choice of rainshower and normal shower. I chose the kind where the hand-held shower is 'fixed' onto the wall. Kinda restricted. I like my parent's house one where you can shift the hand-held shower up and down. Just like yours!
  5. Wah! Impressive! I don't remember cleaning the TV feature wall, just the console area. Hahahaha! Are the edges of the tiles rough? Maybe can try to ask them to smoothen it or blend into the wall. Worried that while u are bending down, u may bump into the edge. I am usually quite accident prone. Worse still if it was a little kiddo =( I cant wait to see more photos!
  6. Hi sohck, saw that you bought an irobot roomba too! I am also a fan of irobots. I also have the scooba which mops the floor. So far no complaints about it! The only thing is that cos of the battery life, I cant have the whole house cleaned in 1 day. So it is like only cleaning 1-2 rooms a day.
  7. fwaaaaah, all looks so pretty! Hahaha! Sometimes I wonder what we would do without our parents. hahahahahha! What else you need? Then we can also contribute! I still couldnt stop buying bodum glasses. So far, we already broke 3 (by 3 different people). But still can't resist the cup. This time I bought the short and fat ones with the cup handles. Hope it will last longer
  8. Hi Beany Just checked. My granite top is 20mm and it ends with a rounded 40mm. Hope that helps =P
  9. Hmmm, I am not sure what did my ID do. It came all polished. So I assumed the sealant has all been done. Just bought this granite polish thing which I swirl round and round every 4-6 months. And do not drop sour/acidic stuff on it. It disappears into the granite and stays as a mark. I have sour cream mark on it now. Luckily it is only a small spot. Don't leave water puddles on top too. Will have marks too. So after cooking, I usually use mild soap to wipe through, wipe off with wet cloth and finish off with a dry cloth.
  10. Hahaha! I never thought of round-finishing as child friendly. That's an interesting point. But cos it is rounded surface, somehow the shine is not as good as a flat surface. So just a point to note when you are choosing your finishing. It does look prettier in flat finish =)
  11. Why did they suddenly retract their approval? So weird! So that beam would have to stay there? I can't remember whether my granite top is 20mm or 40mm. I only know it cost about $100/ft I think. Silly me, chose a rounded finish. Somehow don't think it looks very nice. A little dated after a while. The flat finish one look better!
  12. After you move to Bishan then you wont be in ulu-Woodlands lioaz! But our gathering will toggle between J8 and Causeway Point lah! Hahaha! So did you visit the house yesterday? Any new photos to upload?
  13. It's so nice to see an active Bishan neighbourhood! Beany, you are in safe safe hands. I'm in sembawang, kinda quieter and boring. Luckily got old-time friends and parents. Beany, you wait for me. Once circle line is complete in 2010, and if I still work in Buona Vista, I will be just 7 stops away from you!
  14. CONGRATS on your new house! Will be keeping watch on your reno developments! It is weird that the ex-owner 'combined' his storeroom as part of the kitchen. Made it looked like a little dark corner. Maybe we don't use much of the kitchen. But I surely prefer a storeroom so that I can throw in my rubbish and big electrical stuff that I hardly use
