  1. Home Depot is an awesome place to shop! Tons of stuff to look at and lights were super cheap, lots of options for industrial style lighting and just need to get re-wired. I really regret not checking it out before I started looking for lights.
  2. greghc and openforideas: Thanks for the compliments! I did the same thing, looked around for a really long time but could not find any company that was willing to cut and thread such a small quantity of pipes. I actually brought my pipes and the fittings back from the US since I travel there regularly for work. Home Depot cuts & threads the pipes to size so I just brought my design and measurements, found someone there to help me pick out what I needed. I protected the threaded ends with bubble wrap then tied the entire thing to the outside of a large duffle bag... was worried airport scanners would think I had a pipe bomb if I put the pipes inside my bag!
  3. Hi, could you PM me the contact for your carpenter? He did a really nice job on your dresser!
  4. Thank you! I actually ordered 153cm wide queen size but the factory made a mistake with the order and sent the 163cm one. I decided it doesn't really bother me and told Dream Interior I didn't want to replace it. With my travel schedule, it's really hard to co-ordinate timing for delivery so I decided to keep it. This is a Matthew Hilton bed, I really like his designs! My bed would have been cheaper during the sale cos headboard is fabric and I opted for oak legs. The bed in their showroom was leather headboard & walnut legs, think that would have been much more. Dream Interior has a gorgeous Autoban bed in their showroom now... high headboard with leather...
  5. Lol! I'm cyberstalking your t-blog for updates but so far I think I'm still winning the slow race!
  6. Robinsons arrived on the same day with my mattress. Love it a lot, super comfy and looks great! I'm glad I held off buying a TV console until after I got my bed and mattress. The mattress is pretty high and I would need a slightly higher TV console, otherwise I won't be a able to watch TV in bed without the bottom of the TV getting cut off from view. Family & friends are joking that by the time I'm done furniture shopping and decorating my place, it will be time for me to retire.
  7. Finally done! The guys from Dream Interior were very good, very quick and professional.
  8. My bed arrived just before CNY!!! In the process of getting assembled...
  9. It's been a while and I thought I should update. My sofa was the first to arrive... it's pretty comfy and I do like it but I wish the arms are a little narrower. Now I need to hunt down some nice cushions and maybe a throw? Looks a little naked and I need to add some colour.
  10. try hafele... think they have something similiar
  11. It's close but not exactly the same. Actually I saw this previously when I bought my sofa but the smallest size is much too big at 2m long. I'm looking for something that's not more than 1.6m long... not easy to find.
  12. Yup, very stable. I don't know if the joints are movable, I suspect it can be flat packed. I love the beveled glass top but really thinking hard if I want to spend so much on the dining table.
  13. I thought about clear chairs but they seem to scratch pretty easily. You're right, the table is not cheap but I haven't really seen anything else I liked that is the right size. All the tables I liked so far are at least 2m or more. If I do get it, I'll probably buy it online; total cost will still be about 25% cheaper than buying it locally.
  14. I need some help with ideas on dining chairs, I hope someone would be kind enough to suggest some options. I really like this table for the legs and the beveled glass top. But (to my eyes) it's a very sophisticated table so my original idea of using mismatched chairs is going to be hard to pull off. Does anyone have suggestions on what kind of chairs would work? Any and all suggestions are welcome!
  15. Has anyone bought designer furniture online before? I like this table, Space and Proof are asking almost $7k for it and I found it online for about 1/3 the cost. Even if I factor in shipping, there should be quite big savings. Zanotta Reale Table
  16. Sorry for the late response. I've PM'ed you Alan's number instead.
  17. That's nice too! I really wanted something that had a high back so it was comfy to lean (or slouch) back into, I love the design of the mid century inspired sofas but not what I want in terms of comfort level. Keep an eye out for their sales! I think prices are not too bad during sale period, there should be year end sales coming up soon.
  18. I've decided to buy this sofa from Air but instead of grey, I decided to get a taupe colour. I decided on this instead of the cream one from The Home Gallery. I loved the design of the one at the Home Gallery but I realized that with the back of the sofa being a little narrower than the front, 3 people can sit on the sofa at the same time but only 2 can lean back. This one is comfy and design is pretty basic but I like the legs and I'm also getting tired of looking for something that has the right comfort level and fits the small space I have.
  19. Does anyone have any feedback on quality and service? I'm eyeing a sofa that's part of their new line called Funktion, the sales person told me it's made in China. Anyone bought anything from this collection before? What's the quality like? Thanks!
