  1. I had the same experience with Jinwei. Its a family business and registered as a sole propeiter under the name of Raymond's daugther. Horrible workmanship, left many areas unpainted, damaged my furniture, and did not leave the balance paints for me to re-use. Brought them to Small Claims Tribunal, but they didn't bother (no surprise there). In the end, I had to spend extra money to buy paints and basically repaint everything myself. Avoid them at all costs!

  3. I would urge you to beware of low cost. I had a nightmare engaging JINWEI PAINTING - they were very low cost, but very unprofessional, bad workmanship and did not complete the job. Made numerous promises to complete the works but never showed up. In the end, I had to buy paints (they didn't even leave me the balance paints) and complete the works myself. Took them to Small Claims Tribunal but they didn't even bother to show up. They advertise in the Straits Times classified - do be careful and not be swayed by their price.
  4. Hi, Does anyone have good recommendation for Venetian Blind supplier? Plan to do up for my bathroom, and maybe my yard area. Thanks!
  5. My very first post, and need to vent my frustration with JINWEI PAINTING, RENOVATION & CONTRACTOR. I had appointed them to re-paint my apartment, and had the worst experience ever in dealing with any contractor! It all started out very well, when the boss came by to check my place out. Very professional advise, and at a price that was too good to be true. In the end, I got them to re-paint my whole apartment, plus varnishing of my doors and some cabinets. I couldn't believe it but he did not even ask for a deposit... 2 days prior to starting work, they ask for 50% payment with reason being the paint codes I ordered were custom colors, and they needed to pay Nippon in advance (I would learn much later when doing touch-up that these "custom" paints can be purchased on the spot in shops like Home-Fix). Nevermind, I thought fair request. Then on day of painting, they were supposed to arrive at 9am....waited till noon before 3 young workers arrived, and they didn't seem too professional with the way they went about covering up furniture. I thought its OK, they should know what they are doing, especially when one of the workers was the daughter of the boss. I made the ultimate mistake of going off on vacation, and leaving my maid to supervise the works and to make the balance payment upon proper completion of works. When I returned, i was faced with walls that were partially painted, door frames that were varnished half-way, and no noticeable varnish works done on doors and cabinets! Despite no less than 3 appointments made for them to come down to complete the works, they did not bother to show up, and worse still, they did not leave the paints for me to touch up myself. And I would find out later too that the paints they used did not match against the color codes I requested!! I think they must have used some cheap paint instead of the Nippon ones I ordered. Frustrated, I took them to Small Claims Tribunal, but they did not even bother to show up. After much deliberation, it seemed useless to enforce the order thru writ of seizure and sale, as I don't even know if their business address is valid!
