Oriental Hotel.. actually we are quite surprised also.. such wavier for 5 star hotel.. really hard to believe.. especially for this period.. This is the main perks that attracted us to sign up.

Hmm.. then i should reduce the wines further... my hotel wavied corkage charge for all wines.. so good for us lor.. I agree that hotel wines are marked up.. super bo hua.. somemore limited selections...

Have to take into account.. everything needs $$... even things like Guo Da Li cakes, ping jin and etc.. small amts adds up to be alot..

We just take it as a loan to tide over first.. when everything settle down liao then pay back.. anyway is just few thousands... but is still a sum that help us alot. BS package, more impt is the service they are providing, the transparency of the charges and the gown design.. I feel if customer service lousy.. how beautiful the gowns are also no use.. ya.. if you actually go count.. lets say corkage charge is $25++ (this is intercon charge that is given to us that time) + a bottle of red wine around $15. Total cost will be $40++ per bottle le. Expensive! We are thinking around 70-90 bottles.. which is around 2.5 - 3 bottles per table.. Anyway mine is a weekday, i doubt guest will drink alot becoz next day have to work.. so can reduce further....

use credit card lah.... call up banks to increase credits temporary... that is most couple do.. then take the angbaos and place back the money.. somemore can earn CC points.. my hotel needs to pay up 1/2 of the total amt 2 weeks before...

you have rich hubby mah.. we don't have.. my hubby's family is poor.. anyway, we will repay back next time.. we just treat it as a loan.. 900 plus ba.. i forgot the amt.. weekday or weekend does not matter.. is my wedding.. impt is us not other ppl..

Become super 'picky' when choosing photos.. hahaha... We paid 265k + 20k cash.. resale.. my parents helps to fork out abit, becoz they wish that we stay in good location.. heng flat good condition.. reno becomes minimal.. I sign up with Bridal Concept.. $3088 OTR package.. basic things are in like gowns and suits, 24 photos, photoshoot and makeup, flowers stuff (which can exchange 3 photos), 2 father jackets, bridal car (merc) with driver.. I holding my wedding on a weekday. So is $788++, which is other hotels weekend package. Haiz.. We calculate if give 1 bottle wine per table with discounted corkage charge is bo hua as compared to no wines given but FOC corkage charge.. Force them to drink beer! Since is free flow.. hahaha..

Haha.. can lah.. but don't chase me with chopper if does not meet your standards.. Me and hubby also.. already cut down on reno... becoz we paid a high price for our flat.. now is almost empty.. have to start saving up again.. This is the price to pay for having a nice wedding.. Ya lor.. my ex-colleague manage to stop her own temptations on photos.. and selected what is given in the BS package. Hopefully, I can also do that... Thanks.. Have not gone for gown fitting yet... see what my BS can provide me... But oriental perks quite good ah.. no corkage charge for wines.. free flow beer.. manage to fight for a helper room.. don't forget wines also need $$.. got to play around with this.. get cheap wines.. Haiz.. headache lor.. actually my target is $6k of loss... I like Grand Hyatt black theme.. black and gold.. nice! I will try to invite more friend and colleagues, to help to cover some costs... Most of my relatives in malaysia.. My mum told them no need to come.. too troublesome.. got to arrange their stay lah.. later angbao too little... lugi until siao.. we rather go over to malaysia to just treat them 3-4 tables.. at least their side everything is cheaper.. if you realise... usually higher end hotels have nicer ballrooms with nicer decorations... that's y attract us so much.. who dont want to have a nice wedding rite..

ya.. oriental is 5-star hotel. I also very scare that I will lose alot.. Haiz.. my hubby keep saying don't worry too much.. but the thing is.. mostly are his relatives.. Thanks.. oriental's black theme also very black... black and silver.. really feel like going for funeral..

the colour of the flowers goes with the theme.. if purposely change something different that does not much the theme, then no point. I am talking abt hand bouquet, cosages, car deco from BS.. nothing to do with hotel.. I will be choosing Love Theme.. this is the picture of the layout.. I find it have a grand feeling..

Not sure.. should be white roses... I told my coordinator that I dont want hand bouquets, car deco and cosages.. can exchange for 3 PS photos.. why not.. i doubt those flowers cost that much.. Then save on PS photos, try to stop myself from topping up extra..

not rich meh?? Nothing to do with hotel.. my request to exchange all flower stuff inside my bridal package with photos. I can just get my flowers from my mum.. so trying to start your 20k ring story here??

korea's hubby rich sia... pay for everything.. I don't have such good life.. everything got to share with my hubby.. Sometime I abit regret on signing up with oriental.. I scare lugi too much, both of us cannot tahan.. this is called 'Ai sui mai mia'. Nice things always need more money. now got to save and save lor.. cut cost in other things like bridal package.. I took up OTR package (my coordinator assured me OTR is good enough ) Save on PG and VG.. save on florist (becoz my mum is a florist, can leech on her.. hahaha.. )

for mine case, intercorn more ex.. becoz my AD falls in their auspicious date list. Btw, I holding it on a weekday. Oriental gives me good perks.. perks also impt.. can help you save more.. so rem to bargine more.. hehe..

Goodwood is a beautiful hotel.. but sad to say their customer service wasn't good.. read up abt their complaints in sg brides forum... Have you tried hilton? Their ballroom just renovated. Same goes to Pan pac, my colleague says their ballroom also very nice wor.. So far I still like intercon ballroom.. nice! Really got a grand feeling.. too back i got budget constrains...

Wah.. this thread is running fast. Shall give my field report on HIPV which I went to a wedding dinner 1 week ago... I find not good... menu looks good but food is cold.. imagine cold suckling pig for the 1st dish.. is really 'cold dish'. Second, a waitress actually broke a tray of plates and bowls, my table next to me... If i am the bride, i sure give black face, so inauspicious to break things.. Third, pillars in the ballroom. My friend actually had 30 tables. My table is slightly blk by the pillar. Overall not very good experience. But at orchard for that price is indeed attractive..
