yaya.. my parents house and my house also got skirtings.. i nv change my tiles mah. if look through the reno blogs.. there are still lot of ppl doing skirtings.. the 1st person i know of is Mace that nv did skirtings.. i still wont say is old fashion. is like cornies.. i feel is old fashion.. but want country style homes.. that is suitable..

okok.. electrician will suggest ah.. you guage yourself if the lighting is enough.. like me.. i mis judge.. then end up i did an additional cove lights.. that cost me $400. if not my house will be a ghost house liao.. electrical point/wiring to be done 1st before false ceiling. i also not sure is wet or dry..

ohh okok.. i also choose plain ones.. if i rem correctly.. electrical wiring is 1 thing.. installing the lights is another thing. meaning if you want to create a new lighting point.. is called electrical wiring. like usually living room have 2 lighting points done by hdb.. if want additional.. need electrical wiring. lighting point is where you want to install your lights.. lets say you have 20 downlights.. meaning 20 lighting points..

laminates in general.. usually they will give you a booklet for you to choose from.. many kind of laminates in market.. expensive ones are usually those with fancy designs..

this one i agree leh... like my passageway lights i seldom turn on lor.. MBR lights also.. cozy area worse.. less than 10 times so far..

other pricing looks ok ah.. other than heater lahh.. $600.. can install 2..

another thing is the permits.. be it renovation permit or windows installation permit. please check which party should bare the cost. by right is the contractor. laminates, take note that there are pricey ones.. check with him base on what range they quote. some very nice.. price higher of cost.

eh.. i also dunno how to explain to you.. usually they give around 4-6 colours. ask for more lor.. then can play around with the colours. these small small things can add up to be round 500 to 1k. some can be waived. do ask abt it. aircon truckings leh? if install aircon.. they got to do the truckings right?? must know if they are charging you any electrical points. unless lighting company help you to install for FOC if buy from them.. mine dont have lah.. because i only bought 3 sets of lightings. if need additional electrical point it will be additional charge. ya lor.. like mine.. although small reno.. 1 lighting point charge me for 30 bucks. come up to be pretty high cost leh.. clearing the debris can cost $100 to $300.. all these small small things added up cost far more than expected. nothing comes free unless you asked for it.

ai yo.. i looking also mah.. your painting is how many colours? including sealer?? how abt other small small things like clearing the rubbish?? chemical wash?? eletrical points?? are you hacking anything?

then that will be better! so many experience forumers here.. i am sure they wont sabo you for no reasons mah.. if the contractor is good... can even help them to have more business.. just by word of mouth.. see! your lui also pai tan..
