Flash flood once again Flood came once again, this time was from the washing machine. It seems like we did not managed to clear the debis previously but we are more prepared this time, with all the old rugs throw in to soak up the water. We call our contractor immediately, it was almost 9pm, and I am really thankful that he came with 2 workers within 30mins. They brought with them acid water and long screw driver to clear it.

Thedottyness, I presume you wouldnt be doing your confinement in your new house right. I think better not, carpentry will create alot of dust, even after moving in, and numerous time of vacuming and mopping, the place still feel dusty. Better move in after your confinement, let them clean up the house for your baby 1st mth celebration yah.

We drew the cloud line and got our contractor to paint it accordingly.

Once the frame is done, the door will be quite fast. In the meantime, you can start asking them to clean up the house already.

Roller Blind Need to get roller blind for the study and bamboo blind for the balcony. Anyone got good contact? Good in workmanship and at reasonable pricing. In fact I have 3-4 contacts in my phone, all recommended by friends, but I have not seen their work so not sure who to engage.

Children's room We didn't managed to complete their DIY bed. I would have wanted to paint the frame white but it is simply too troublesome and time consuming. My younger one keep bugging me to fixed up her bed, so end up like this. We have yet to dress up their room, shall shop around more!

Flooding! 1st night and flooding occur!! What a terrible start.... Was washing the dishes and water overflow out from our washer pipe. Our washing machine is not installed yet and the kitchen sink will bypass the washer pipe before going to the drain. So instead of going down to the drain, water flow up from the washer pipe. Found that the passge to the drain was choked with cement, and we have to use screwdriver to poke thru it. Everybody is busy mopping up the water and i forgot to take photo to show to our contractor. What a day!

Today is a busy busy day! Total 8 workers came, 1 doing the last piece of painting of the railing, 3 cleaning the house, sweeping, mopping and cleaning off residual paint. 1 plumber, fixing up all the pipes and accesories, The rest are carpenters, doing the last piece of work on the TV console, putting up kitchen backsplash, installing the hood and my digital lock. Myself and my girl painting her bed and my SO walking around looking busy! In the morning, the house is like a warzone, but by the end of the day, the house is clean! And we finally open up our sofa.

My older girl DIYing her own bed. We spray a layer of magnetic paint before coating her chosen color. It is fairly easy to fixed up the ikea stuff, just a little time consuming, trying to figure out the correct parts. And tiring too, but its worth it. Knowing that, you build all these for the children and seeing them getting excited over it. Getting them involved is a good idea, make them feel good!

I love the irobot! I used to have it in my previous house. We rather spent time on other things, or "we are just plain lazy lah" so the irobot is our great help. Everyday come home to a dustfree and hairfree house
