  1. Years down the road, your EA will be the envy of many new house owners as the flats seems to be getting smaller in terms of living area. 5 bedrooms will be unheard of by then . Congrats on securing your ideal house and enjoy your reno
  2. Hi, no prob. Seems like they have changed their way of working liao. When they started the business, very enthu .. bring samples (limited though) to potential clients' place. Know of them thru RT and they've got quite good reviews. Now, we have to go to new showroom to choose materials, got a rough quote (though rough, but if want to change material during measurement, like not very willing leh), then they arrange to come for exact measurement. I guess good business, that's why head swell!
  3. Yoi Franciz, since you are residing in the West, want to pop over to have a look see of my curtains and decide for yourself the workmanship? You know which curtain maker I used, right? PM me if you are interested.
  4. Wahh .. so much carpentry work! The contrast of black and white is really SWEE .
  5. Anyone buying IKEA products can save on installation of 8% and do it yourself. If this auntie here can do it, so can you It is really very simple. Need bull strength though for BIG items.
  6. Went to an activity conducted at the multi purpose hall at Blk 423. Spent a good part of my married life at Clementi too. Children's school, piano lessons, 2 sisters' place.
  7. Casa is a good area. Went there last week and took some time to find the correct blk as well as park at the correct place. Will you have enough space at both sides to change the bedsheet? I like platforms too, especially the tatami kind with storage space underneath. Then the whole house can be really bare! I guess for those, the wood must be real solid and also if we don't bother about Feng Shui.
  8. Nice to know that your carpentry is back on track Just curious, what are the shampoo shelves in the toilets made of?
  9. OMG! I must tell my friend of your idea on the security doors. She was wondering how to avoid carrying 2 sets of keys around! Very tempted by the finger print one myself Ex or not??
  10. Went back to IKEA with hubby to have a 2nd look at girlie's sofa choice and decided to buy it for the entertainment room. IKEA staff said if we have ever assemble or dismantle IKEA's product, then we can save the installation fee of 8% and do it ourselves. Saw a suitable rug too but not sure how much floor space is left after the sofa is in. So that rug has to wait till next Tuesday.
  11. Your carpentry quite fast leh! The company has many experienced staff. Your wardrobe looks interesting
  12. :sport-smiley-003: Kong Xi, kong xi on the arrival of another precious one and good health to both mother and child. Not forgetting "lao ba" I've been keeping track of your post to see when the good news will be announced. :yamseng:
  13. You've hit it right on the nail, May. Thanks! Yeah, normally, the carpenter will do all touch up after their project is done, if required.
  14. Girls' room Storeroom turned WIW for girls Partially furnished entertainment room. Entertainment room's TV console. Still need a 2 seater fabric sofa, a rug, a couple of throw cushions and a casement aircon to complete the room Very difficult to take the common toilet when the space is sooo constrained.
  15. Photo can't see lah! It's a "before makeup, you see the dark lines, after makeup, you can't see any lines" kind of effect and when you run your fingers over the edges, it feels smooth. Before, it cut my hubby's fingers.
  16. Andrew's number is 97493006. His quote is not the lowest but he'll treat your house as his child. He is still upset that he couldn't live up to his promise to deliver on time. He was just 3 days late.

  17. Sorry ya! Forget how to PM liao. His number is 97493006.
  18. Right move to let hubby handle his mum and relatives. Do you have a plan B in case things got so out of hand that it jeopardize all your other plans as well? Sometimes, if you tell yourself that if by when and when it is still not ready, then I'll fall back on what and what .. it will release your stress and frustration a bit. Go take a day off and pamper yourself
  19. Many thanks jshome The final lot of "contractor" came yesterday which signified that my reno is finally, totally completed. It is the 1st time that I am aware their speciality existed Worker was wondering how long his trade will last since he does not do much carpentry work. I was concerned that his sense of smell is affected as he could no longer smell the thinner. They are the carpentry makeup artiste. This small group of experts deal with touching up imperfection, roughness of lamination, smoothening laminate edges and cutting joints. They mixed different colors to create the closest match for each piece of furniture. It is a pleasure to see them at work as their artistic sense of color is superb. I've got a terrible headache the whole day from the fume of the thinner they used though. By the time they are finished, we are unable to see the dark edges where 2 laminates meet. It looks like a wrap round. The edges are smooth to the touch too. Hubby likes it very much.
  20. It looks bigger than the actual 120sqm. Could be because old flat has no aircon ledge, bay windows and unhackable bomb shelter to eat up the liveable floor space. Nice, nice Wah .. another big, big WIW :dribble:
  21. Ah ha! So it's your house from whom I've got Kelvin to "steal" some grouting cement It seems both our floor plans are quite similar. Shouldn't the drain pipe at the balcony changed for free by Town council? My was FOC.
  22. Old bed, old bedsheet and an old chair to act as bedside table Relax area TV console with plenty of storageMy relocated storeroom is behind the sliding door.My at least 40 yrs old black and white portable TV cum radio. Can still view and tune in to local channels and programs.
  23. Muahaha .. Rectification of carpentry works done swee swee. After the final unpacking, can slowly take my own sweet time hunting for accessories and stuff. On the whole, the reno process went quite smoothly. Hubby was happy that his work was not interrupted by the reno, moving house etc. When I initiated having a makeover, this is one condition I have to maintain. He wasn't stressed at all. Andrew has lived up to his reputation once again by being efficient, on the ball and driving the subcon nuts!! Hahaha. He knows who food the bill and hence is on the owner's side (no matter how unreasonable we can be at times) . He has many sleepless nites and I think we see him more often than we see our own children.Keke.
  24. I am looking for a 2 seater fabric sofa for the entertainment room. Went to IKEA and saw one selling at $449 plus 8% for installation plus delivery $65 = $550. Then went to Jurong Pt to have a look see on the seahorse products. Was surprise to find such cheap prices in a shopping mall. A pity I couldn't find a suitable one.
