  1. Oh, I'm actually also worrying about carpentry as well. Cause if anything salar, siao, delay again, I head big big. :jawdrop: Stay in already then do carpentry also can. A bit dusty only.
  2. Actually, I'm not so worried about carpentry. Easier to dismantle if things go wrong, TOUCH WOOD!! It's the tiling and false ceiling that's troublesome. Till now, my reno has been pretty hassle-free. The workers are all very friendly and accommodating including the tilers. Plumber hasn't come in to change pipes yet.
  3. Ouch Bought Champs Trizon last nite at a nearby electrical shop B4 I see your Alpha now. Yours looks slim and flat. I like . Doesn't matter lah. Most of the time, we will be using the storage heater anyway.
  4. Have a cousin staying at Blk 48 #23 floor. The house is soooo windy throughout the year that she has to keep her windows shut most of the time cos things are flying all over the place. Looking thru your blog, noticed you are staying at high floor too :good: Is your place as windy? Then don't think you'll need AC for living room .
  5. If still qualify to buy insurance, means still young and healthy lor Our insurance agent is no longer interested in us. Very "mah fan" to service due to plenty of exclusions . She is more interested in our 2 girls liao. Muahaha.
  6. Which brand of instant shower is it that has both rain and hand shower? 707 Princeton? Haven't got my instant heater yet.
  7. In the presence of the tiler, showed Andrew the disputable area. Andrew will think of a way to rectify it. One floor tile had to redo because it was wrongly laid. I close an eye on another wrongly laid tile as it is small and against the wall. The fridge will eventually hide it from sight. Was introduced to Ed, the carpenter. Seems he is a carpentry designer and not easy to "hire" him as he is always very busy. Battle - you got him too? I think mine can only be installed in early July. A lot of pieces to do . False ceiling for the whole place is up except the kitchen, whose floor was laid only yesterday. Should be up by tomorrow. Meanwhile, the guys are touching up the rest of the rooms.
  8. Just by looking at the walls and floor, I can already sense the scandi feel
  9. The hiccups had started. Mainly with the tilers. It is a matter of whether we want to accept it as it is. Just hope the tilers are more conscientious when they come to laying the marbles, ONE wrong move and I'll make them dig up the whole lot!!! I thought slow work produces better workmanship. Maybe our prayers for a smooth reno had expired liao. Must pray doubly hard with rice dumplings?? Battle, I envy youuuuu.
  10. Totally agree! Once bitten, twice shy. I've done away with the base for both too.
  11. Oooo .. yesss.. dating and volunteer work must be given 1st priority
  12. Meeting up with carpenter tomorrow for on site measurements. Gosh! Didn't realise we have so many customised pieces.
  13. We bought model: Posh S/S including bedframe at $1399. If it is a King, then it will be $1899. There are other comfortable mattresses but din ask the price cos the height is too high for our likings.
  14. Yoi May, fast fast leh. Learn the 3D then take over leh Andrew is short of an arm and a leg now! Poor fellow, up to his neck liao.
  15. @ Battle - Both girls tried the mattress in the shop and rated it "refused to wake up every morning" grade. Our plain tile has a greyish tint to match the glass bits on the mosaic. You've made so many changes along the way that a delay is inevitable. We also have 3 weeks to go but looks like carpentry for the kitchen might be delayed due to the slow tiling work. Andrew is getting frantic about that too.
  16. Just noticed something here. Is my false ceiling slanted or is it optical illusion? To be fair, my ceiling and walls are quite crooked in the 1st place and ceiling people had a headache adjusting the height. Get my girlie to have a look too. Nope, it's straight! . It's the beam above the window that is terribly disproportion. According to Andrew and his contractor, my house is a sand/cement eating monster!! We are only doing 2 toilets and kitchen and yet it needed 3 rounds of fresh supply. I can practically hear the supplier grumbling when Andrew called to expedite more cement and sand.
  17. Will be meeting Andrew later to discuss carpentry works. Need to redesign TV console at entertainment room to accommodate the multimedia system.
  18. Our MBR toilet. The pipes here will be boxed up but not at the common toilet. Reason is pipes in common toilet are branched out and lie quite low just above the WC.
  19. Our common toilet. This is our 2nd choice mosaic. Due to the size of our toilet, we let Andrew decide how and where he wants to put the mosaic. Our tiny 2 ft wide vanity top will be where the mosaic is. A shower screen will separate the basin and shower area (off white tiles)
  20. Electrical and false ceiling for entertainment room are up . All other contractors are waiting for tiling works to complete before they can proceed to the living room and kitchen. Spoken to the respective contractors and they are all very compromising. They won't mind coming back some other time to finish up. Just noticed something here. Is my false ceiling slanted or is it optical illusion? To be fair, my ceiling and walls are quite crooked in the 1st place and ceiling people had a headache adjusting the height.
  21. DAY 21For tiling works, only the walls of our 2 toilets and parts of our kitchen walls are done. All floorings will only be done some time this week. 21 days liao leh. A bit slow right??
  22. Not satisfied with tiling work. Will post pic here.
  23. Me know of a lady who likes cats, dogs, hiking and climbing mountains too. Because of her love for nature and climbing mountains, she prefers not to hold a permanent job. She is also single ... hehehe.. hint.. hint..
  24. The tap is gorgeous. After installing, will it be inclining elegantly on the basin like the pic 2 or will it be "balancing on a pedestal" like pic 1?
