  1. The full chemical wash is to dismantle the blower unit and do the chemical wash in the bathroom. This way one will get access to the back of the blower unit n hence a total wash. The cleaning done without dismantling the blower will only hv access to the front part of the fan coil n as such u got a cheaper price. So next time ask them how is it done? Dismantle or not chemical cleaning.

  3. Put cinnamon sticks behind pics , top of AC , clocks etc to chase off lizards. And buy those pack of 6 wipeout roaches n stick along the wall skirting , esp beside beds, cupboards etc. Renew them every 3 to 6 mths.
  4. Thanks for that enlightening feedback. Quite exciting to have an attic with a skylight, isn't it. The link u posted says a thousand words.haha. I notice many houses don't have one and was wondering was it becos of the heat fr the sun that deterred them. Normally the top floors are much hotter and family members often settle down to the ground floor to avoid the heat(esp my moms' place...i believe cos theirs is an open terrace top floor). Do you have any such problems and how's the seal from rain , any leakage? Can u pass me the contact of ur unker roof contractor....much appreciate thanks.
  5. Would like to know if there is a need to apply for approval fr ura/bca to create a loft aka mezzanine within my master bedroom? Anyone with such experience. The house is 2.5 sty. The loft within the master bedroom has a very high sloping roof. The loft will become a triangle when enclosed and entry to it will be fr the 3rd storey. Planning to have a skylight. Would appreciate if you could recommend contractors familiar with such works esp skylight. I tried the Velus skylight agent who does installation, but to my surprise they only install w/o the roofing works, which is done by the roofing contractor.... i find contractors here lacking imagination. Would appreciate any help. Thanks.
  6. get those floor traps with very small holes to prevent roaches creeping out. depends on the location of the basement rubbish bin n if maintainence is daily problem will be in check. I notice many residents c/o of mosquitoes during peak seasons , so the problem is not unique to ground floor only....hahaha. And lovely to have a big dog....so much space to move around n do their business, hahaha. Mine is a golden retriever.
  7. Hi a newbie here. Been living in a ground floor unit for 10 yrs with a open terrace space of over 500sq ft facing the baby pool n by the side a small play ground ....its been fantastic. Don't listen to what others say abt the noise and litter. The initial hoo haa will die off fast and the pools get deserted most wk days esp when its sunny. There might be some litter but nothing that will bother you. Else jus make an awning/trellis and u'll enjoy the terrace even when it rains....u'll get many jealous owners/neighbours wanting to view ur house. And nobody uses the playground in the hot sun. And lets face it, most condo units hv full length windows and tt means opposing block can see you and thus no different fr groung floor units (jus put some potted plants and game over)...hahaha Congrats and you'll enjoy it
