  1. Ikea has some nice prints...or u can slowly do ur own photo montage after you give birth, keep yourself occupied. Take it easy & do let ur parents, in-laws & husband take over, u need to yang tai liao. Enjoy the remaining time before baby comes along. Btw, the dining room pendant light is super nice! Very attention seeking.
  2. The rest of my carpentry items started installation today... My 9 feet wardrobe...hmm, think wont be enough... Closer look at the contrasting laminates chosen: wood grain carcass vs linen doors...like the unique combi! Feature wall waiting patiently at the carporch... The 13 feet console... eagerly anticipating how this works as it was designed with alot of thought & details... will share more once it's all up. The "broom" to let the wiring pass through... Installation continues later today...
  3. Hi both, yes it's from Ikea. I found it right at the end of section 13. Comes in turquoise & yellow as well. Is $79 or around there... I read from Paloma's blog that it's limited edition, so... went to get another one! This one accompanied me & was my source of support & comfort during the most trying moments of these 2 weeks of reno... like it.
  4. Haha, we had the same sentiments as u! But went ahead to choose tiles anyway... Do post ur selections / shortlists ya!
  5. Unbeknownst to most, I had been feeling during the past 2 weeks that I've had just enough of all these reno coordination, site visitations, & budget adjustments.. With 1 more week to go, I decided on Sunday to give up pushing & trying & just pray for everything to be alright. & indeed, the touching up picked up significantly this week... the IDs are both on the ball & ensuring the various loose ends are being tied up. Jia you... ~~~ Met the decking guys today for my L-shaped patio...was serendipitously given a good deal for burmese teak decking, so went with it...Accoya wood was my original first choice, but I was advised that Accoya has no inherent value in itself - being made from pine wood - so I'll be paying top decking dollar for the R&D & the treatment process that makes Accoya what it is. As for Burmese teak, no need to say more about it's scrap value...there are shops selling reclaimed teak furniture at high price, such as Journey East, & teak furniture can last more than a decade, judging from the offerings in Second Charm & Likethatone. Furthermore the Burmese teak decking was quoted lower than Accoya wood...so not difficult choice. Decking starts this weekend, after which i would have to decide whether to seal it with a semi-gloss finishing, matt finishing or no finishing at all. The wood expert says teak does not need any finishing, it actually takes care of itself by oxidising its top layer (turning into a ash grey colour) that in turns protects the inner portion... What do u all think? Semi-gloss (left) or raw & no finishing (right)?
  6. Yes yes anytime... just give me notice.
  7. Just convert cm to feet... Cabinets & countertops are per foot run (pfr). Only feature wall is psf.
  8. ..Cross-section of solid plywood for kitchen cabinets...interesting... Curved wall area...this is supposed to be the attention seeking spot in the house. Will be wallpapered. Close-up of the spotlight: Philips LED 9W.
  9. Parquet sanding & varnishing was done yesterday, we chose matt varnish, which gave the floor a raw look & really brings out the woodgrains..but it feels very unprotected & sandy, so we are considering doing another round of varnishing but semi-gloss... tho neighbours & parents tell us it's alright. According to the parquet guys, the wood shld be Burmese teak. Woa if so, I will hug it every night before I sleep liao... maybe Morganwu can give his expert opinion... Here's the old-school parquet laying pattern...looks slightly yellowish even in daylight. Chemical wash & general cleaning was done today, hence the "no shoes" sign pasted by the contractor. Here's the night view... View of living & terrace from dining room...
  10. Black mirror will be like ur backsplash isit? I think it'll prob be the most expensive option. IMHO, keeping it simple same laminates as ur upper cabinets will give the kitchen a simple & clean look. Otherwise might look busy if wood lams. But really depends on ur design theme...
  11. Ya I went Tamp one...I was looking ard at sections 15, chk there or ard section 13...it's all the way in on the left side le, there are 3 colours green red & yellow. $85.
  12. Think do nothing looks fine, just that u have to keep cleaning the dust off...so box it up?
  13. This one still ok in terms of cost... neber beat my sanitary wares record... haha. Oh chair is the same? I passed by this in a corner when looking for something else & just grabbed it on a whim...think shld be suitable for timber deck area. If nice, will go back & buy the yellow colour as well.
  14. This much things we bought from Ikea today... ...handling 2 babies while buying all these bulky stuff is no joke. Then my daughter chose to poo big time till poo poo went to her back & stained the stroller...while I handle one, my son poured the ice tea over himself... then I had to nurse my gal at the waiting area...then after that head to reframe my painting... then birthday dinner celebration... jiu ming ah! Okok, calm down, calm down...
  15. Tks! I'm very pleased with the colours for the rest of the house too...the living room one's from Jotun.
  16. Main items left are parquet sanding & varnishing, feature wall & wardrobes, solid top & plumbing installation, touch ups, before moving in..after that, there are wallpapering, roofworks, awnings, timber decking... & these are just the main things! Pace really picks up in the later weeks one...
  17. And just some overviews: A view of the downlights, bifold doors & fans from the car porch.. Common toilet shower area...
  18. Lightings, continued... White track lights for wet kitchen & backyard... the big 12W one is bought seperately at RM80-90 (can't remember exactly). With lights on... yes, I mistakenly bought a warm white for the 12W, but oh well... Outdoor light RM85 The other type of LED, bought in SG, 18W. Installed in living, dining & playroom... Actually both round & square LEDs turned out great, happy with it! Kitchen Island pendant lights... yes I succumbed to the trend. Next week, should have more pictures of solid top, feature wall, etc...
  19. Ok, this is for May dream: 56" Refresh 45" Victory This is for jumbopanther: Wet kitchen with acrylic doors installed. This is for thedottyness: Matt black 45" Victory... little noticeable difference in terms of design.
