  1. Yeah right, I guess all IDs are like that. business is business..only goal is to make profit.
  2. Woolah...so many comments now. @Mike - looks like I.C. of ** overestimate the size of the kitchen. I measured again and it is really 1m longer in quotation. I asked him to measure again last time but somehow still believed his measurements were correct. It cost me more than 1K. For the TV feature wall, there is a gourmet hole behind the TV but if you drill hole on the right side to insert the speaker wires it won't be able to reach the gourment hole because the support system (broken yellow lines) is blocking the way. @taichipanda - I am convincing myself that the purpose of having the drainage hole outside the cabinet is to drain the water spills on the floor. But thinking again, will there be a lot of water spilling in the kitchen floor? I wonder why our ID did not highlight this and should have shifted and hide it inside the cabinet. When they placed the quartz, straight away I know it is very thin but somehow did not question our ID. My verdict for our ID (SkyCreation) 1. Did not highlight that the chosen laminates for feature wall will have to be joined by 2 laminates and thus, joining lines will be visible. This should be brought during the consultation process. 2. Inconsistent recommendations on color scheme/furnitures. First time we ask if we can have a wooden dining table he said cannot then the next day my wife asked and he said can. Too many to mention here 3. Poor after service - We highlighted 3 issues last Monday and until now, no action is done. 4. Did not deliver to our expectations. We spend so much money and I feel that we didn't get what we paid for (maybe the many paperwork are also costly). I still can't believe that we spend so much doing only the feature wall and kitchen to match with the existing old design of our home. On a positive side, he seems very knowledgeable (that is the reason why we chose him), never comes late on appointments, and recommended reliable furniture companies I really hope that there would be no more renovation issues. Lessons Learned - don't believe too much with your ID - assign some relatives or friends to closely monitor the renovation - renovate only what you need. we should have just bought a ready-made tv feature/console for half of the price. - either do full renovation or nothing at all. we find it troublesome to find a suitable 3-hole basin mixer and other things that will match the existing design.
  3. Here's a 3.1K TV Feature wall & console. Is it really worth it? with joining lines and now, they didn't even make a system that will hide the speaker wires if mounted. Very disappointed. Our new kitchen. For 12K with quartz countertop (not sure if it is really true that it is a free upgrade from granite to quartz), I think it is quite expensive. Pls take note that the wall tiles are still the old one. Ai yooo. I hope all of these will last long at least 5 years. What a failed investment if it didn't.
  4. Now our ID agreed to replace the white laminate as this is the one with obvious line. I hope that the carpenter won't spoil the feature wall when he removes the current laminate. Is it true that carpenter can really take out the laminate and replace with new one within a month?
  5. Thanks jaskel and jcchiask for the feedback. @jaskel - when you say ask ID to change is to change the laminate. Can the carpenter still replace the laminate even after installation? I asked my ID on the day when he highlighted to me, and he quickly said NO other laminates that will not require joining. I will post pictures tomorrow.
  6. hi, does anyone encounter a problem on their TV or any feature wall about the visible joining lines and different patterns on 2 laminates? 1. Our ID only highlighted to us in the midst of renovation. He didn't give us any options but to accept the visible joining lines at the center and thus, the 2 sides have different laminate patterns. The 3D Drawing does not show this joining line at all and we were given a very small picture. 2. Is it true that ID will only know the size of the laminate upon fabrication or confirmation of materials? An experienced ID should know before hand that we will require 2 separate laminates (because width is 1.2m only) for a 2 meter wide TV feature wall and he didn't tell us during the 3D drawing discussion. 3. Our ID told us the carpentry started 2-3 weeks ago and he only highlighted to us the problem a week ago. Why he didn't highlight it before the start of carpentry? I need your opinion on this. Have you guys experienced the same thing? What did you or your ID do to lessen the visible join lines? Can we still ask our ID to replace the laminates? Thanks.
  7. Anyone knows a good shop where we can buy a 6-seater dining table suitable for a modern-eclectic style. Thanks.
