Day 7 (10 Aug 2012) Today is plumbing day. The plumbing team came down early in the morning. After some confirmation about where the various water points should be, they started work hacking into the walls and pipings. Also met up with my IDs and run through some of the additional stuff I wanted to do. Top of the list is to shift out the window in the wardrobe room. The way this window was constructed was pretty weird, and the grill was actually installed outside. This contributed to one of my waterproofing problems at the planter area. Hence, I intend to tear away this window and install another one at the edge instead. The window grills will be shifted inside. The planter area I intend to fill up so that it becomes a bay window instead.

I must say that so far, I have been pretty happy with my ID team. They have been very responsive and responsible. They are on-site everyday and have also taken initiatives to bring down not one but three waterproofing contractors to look at my waterproofing and roofing issues. I hope that they sustain this momentum till my project completes. Jia You!

Day 6 (08 Aug 2012) Today they stripped away the false ceiling and hacked away the part of the master bedroom wall which will be my new toilet entrance. Also told them to hack the yard washing point deeper so that we create a step down washing point instead of building a kerb up one. This is more for safety so that people won't trip over the kerb. Ceiling all hacked up New entrance to my MBR toilet

Day 5 (07 Aug 2012) Looks like the hacking is almost done now. I can see the huge container (sorry dunno what that's called) packed in front of my house and the workers loading the debris into it. I have also spoken to my contractor. Apparently, when the previous owner did the extension (that area in the toilet with the hole was previously a balcony. Owner covered it up and extended the toilet into it), the contractor followed the sloping shape of the roofline and hence did not cover up that area adequately. 2 other roofing contractors also came by to check out the work that need to be done. Luckily, they both said no scaffolding is required as they can climb out through the toilet window.

Day 4 (06 Aug 2012) Look what the "hackers" found? Dunno why the previous owner left a lobang there in the level 3 toilet...it is gonna cost me to patch that lobang because scaffolding has to be erected. We are currently looking at the bathroom accessories. Have to been to a few shops at Katong, Balastier and Geylang. Was quoted $513 for a set of concealed rain shower with Grohe mixer and handshower, Crizto holder and shower head. This price seems the lowest we can find, is it reasonable? I know Grohe, but never heard of Crizto. Was also quoted $550 for a set consisting of Johnson Sussie and Almar from InzWerkz. Which one should I go for?

Day 1 (03 Aug 2012) The contractor was already onsite when we arrived at about 10am. I believed today is the day that they started to place protection around the house for things that I intend to keep, starting with the front door. I hanged around for a while and I must say overall I am pretty impressed with what they were doing, even if it's just to lay out protection. I see the worker measuring and cutting out the staircase protection planks piece by piece. There wasn't any sense that they are rushing or doing things for the sake of doing. I must say this first impression was pretty good! However, when I went back again at night, saw that they have killed one of my sunflowers....so sad We also saw a huge and heavy plank they rested against a big curry leaves tree outside our house, that is threatening to de-root that tree. We'd really hope they can take care not to harm the plants as they go about doing their work.
