New or resale, you will still need a permit. My own work has not been started yet, but I have seen his work at my friend's place. Pretty good. I believe you can just use his carpenter, but you will need to coordinate properly between the different vendors.

Hey, I think its really abt the timing. When I tried to get a quote from Patrick, I was also expecting to wait for some time. But surprisingly, he managed to get back to me, if I can remember, within 3 days!! I guess he was able to find some time to do the quote during that period of time. Maybe its just plain luck. So far I managed to get the response from him pretty fast and he will tell you in advance if he is not able to give you a re-quote in time. At least that was what happened to my case.

Well.... true to some extend.... But there are some pretty good and experience contractors around whom I have seen doing a good job on my friend's houses. Not all contractors are without warranty too.

My 2 cents worth of opinion is that, if you already know what you want to do and have an ideal of the design you want, go for contractor. If you have not idea on what to do with your house, like space planning, design, etc, then engage an ID.

Hey... be positive..... I am sure it will work out fine.... Nowadays HDB response quite prompt already.... There was once I complained abt some graffiti near my unit, evening when I come home it was gone already....

Mine is also quite near yew tee mrt.... abt 5-10 mins walk away depending on yr speed.....
