    IMAG0946.jpg

    IMAG0951.jpg

The view from the sofa. Think im missing some greens in the house.

    IMAG0945_1.jpg

and my silly over thick mattress on the my beautiful bed frame D: hahahah we had a good laugh when we fitted the mattress on the frame.

    O well..

  3. Hi MrMerry,

Is that marble for kitchen countertop and back splash? It is looking fabulous! :jawdrop: Mind letting me know how much it cost for the countertops. :deal:

    Thanks.

Hello wtg54, its actually quartz :thumbs up: i did it for both sides though on hindside i really dint need it for the sink side. but it looks too cool :D

    Really dint like crystal glass.

    IMAG0920_1.jpg

Did marble for the vanity in the bathrooms though, at the sides also to protect against any water splashes but luckily dint cause we dint like the feel of the marble.

Hope it helps! BTW i dunno the cost .. Mrs merry might have but i doubt so as the amendments keep going on i think the quote for the worktop is lost somewhere... lol

  4. lucky ur island top not black also. i heard the white water stains are even worse. and if u not using like quartz where it doesnt stain , it will seep in! But take hard its tiles, just use a mop and its clean lol.

My problem is opposite of yours for the flooring. -_- My floor too rustic, cannot see dust/dirt. Now die die must buy vacuum to suck if not dunno if its clean anot.

And yes im using myrepublic to arrange for me to install the stuff, the customer service girl was so nice to help me do it in the shortest time possible, good bye good riddance starhub. You served me well, once. lol.

Update more peektures! i wanna see the lived in look. i can imagine the relaxed feeling. Are u staying in high floors? If got breeze lagi best on a lazy sunday..

  5. Luckily theres still a few deliveries made today.

    IMAG0929.jpg

My 55 inch sony tv looks puny on the wall.. :(:(:( Will aim a 65 OLED inch next time when prices are more reasonable. :notti:

Now the search for the elusive tv console to hold them all continues on!

    IMAG0932_1.jpgIMAG0924_1.jpg

The big *** fridge is here! FINALLY CAN HAVE CHILLED DRINKS WOHOOO. Washer and dryer also here, but because the tap given by the hdb is not suitable and dont "hook up " well, so have to wait for plumber tomorrow again to change the head. (-_- SIAN) before stacking the dryer on top.

Ok the serta willow spring mattress is also here as well, however the bed frame is still not :curse: . My table, chairs and sofa also.

More touch ups from the painters on the dirty walls, carpenters to seal up some holes we found between the carpentry and flooring. Gotta say it looks much better now. Skirting corners were sand down also so its not so sharp. The guys from the PD door also came to reapply white silicon over the translucent ones which has turn yellowish. Yucks. More acid wash/sanding of texture tiles on missed spots of putty or paint.

Overall, my ID is amazingly on the ball and quite a perfectionist himself while scrutinising every detail looking for stuff we might have missed too.

One thing we dint expect was the not so solid feeling tt the vinyl flooring has given us, though we have grown to love it as its much more " springy " and feels better on the heels for me actually as beneath the clipping system are foam and because of that, you can feel some spots are deeper than some, though its not tt big an issue to me as its much more comfortable to walk on and much

Given a choice again i might go for the more solid feel tiles but i think its more of being used to it for 30 plus years. im already starting to grow to love the floor as its not cold and hard when the air con is on and its kinder on my feet. lol

  6. @macuser77

IT FEELS AWESOME. Sitting there on the cleaned ledge.. the hot shower hitting down like a rain shower just purely relaxes the body. ( because im sitting down and the shower head is raised quite high so it actually gives the feeling of rain shower with the flexibility of the shower handle! ) Problem is it takes a while to heat up the water.

    IMAG0920_1.jpg

and how the storage heater looks like in the common toilet. ( actually i would have to look up to see it so its not as bad as i thought it would be. )

    IMAG0927.jpg

In the meanwhile , we were cleaning up the house mopping n sweeping a few times to await the furnitures to come today. See all the cleaning stuff we got for the new house. Its expensive stocking up a new house from scratch!

    IMAG0915_1.jpg

The furniture shop did a booboo and scheduled the deliveries tomorrow instead of today when we took leave to settle everything today! :curse: Mrs merry was already grouchy from cleaning the house and she was scolding the furniture company who promised us tomorrow so.. have to take leave tomorrow again. :angry2:

  7. And so its been a while!!!!After the amazing day...

    lastdayWEB.jpg

Finally time to focus on the house with some updates!

First all... the outdoor binds are up!

    IMAG0923_1.jpg

    IMAG0922_1.jpgIMAG0935_1.jpg

Loving the wind and flexibility the binds are giving us. Been using them so far and no issues, and seem to be easy to pull and holding well against the wind.

Well.. too bad for the hangers outside which i tot would be able to hold my teeshirt that i left to dry without any clippers.. it flew off.. Sorry whoever it landed on..

  8. Wow. Love. Your. Ashley wood bots! Lovely amazing place you got !
Know how u feel bout the mentally n monetary exhausted feeling...in phrases lor.. what to do..

But i particularly love your dining chairs and translucent wardrobes.

I'm guessing the iMac is the wifey n pc is yours ? Lol.

Really really love your place though bit curious how is the open kitchen cooking working out?

  9. Depressing news aside... We sort of went shopping on Sunday at Tanglin Mall with no intention of buying stuff. Until WTB and I went inside iwannagohome shop.

Below are the loot from 15mins of "window shopping" biggrin.gif

    Salt and sugar/pepper/soy sauce bowls

    imagejgy.jpg

Cutting board and tray for our wine glass.

    photovj.jpg

    kitchen9.jpg

The height of wine chiller is up to bottom of first drawer, WTB wanted the tray to be place on top of our wine chiller to hide the ugly gas pipe beneath.

omg the salt n peper n soy sauce holders are uber nice!

  10. Not much updates for reno as just waiting for carpentary to start...

So, while waiting, saw a post from a fellow renotalk user regarding francfranc having a 15% for mastercard members for this month so went to francfranc today to grab my sofa set (as it was not having any discount for it for GSS :( )

apparently, much to my hubby's annoyance  , I decided to get a tv console & a stool too...luckily :D managed to get the colour that I wanted but have to wait for the one and only remaining piece as they are no longer making that particular design anymore as it was the past season. Hopefully it would be worth it lah :sport-smiley-004:

but I think Mr K will definitely shake his head :jawdrop: as he informed me to get a tv console of height 55cm to cover the wall socket plugs of my brick wall but this tv console only has a height of 30cm  so I guess, I gotta "cover" the wall sockets with paintings/pictures/ornaments instead...ehhehe shall figure that out later ;)

    gallery_46790_34_122809.jpg

tomorrow shall meet Mr K to discuss further...ehhehe hopefully he will not shake his head

IS THE MASTERCARD DISCOUNT FOR THIS MONTH FOR FRANC FRANC :D:notti::notti::notti:

  11. True that the transformer is rather troublesome, some more the thing is not tiny.

Err, I stopped looking at amazon liao, at least for now. Bought too many things already hahaha.. I think online shopping is really addictive leh. And sometimes you lose control because it is easy to just add to the cart and press checkout lol.

Oh, you are getting MyRepublic also, hm, hope it's not too late, you might want to check this out:

    http://love.myrepublic.com.sg/refer-a-friend

You can use my ID as referral, we both can benefit from this program ;)

    My ID is C1009543

Congrats on your wedding btw :) Where will you go for honeymoon?

Yupe, I am a wedding photographer (on the weekend), and works in investment institution during the weekdays. My wife works in a construction company, they build those landed properties e.g. bungalow, etc. Hence she knows a lot about renovation stuff :D

too late liao la bro. paisheh.

sad story bout open net, i saw the open net box in my new house for the longest time and assumed its already done up, but apparently its not!!!!! now i gotta wait for them then myrepublic ... sigh. gotta live on mobile data for 1-2 weeks..

  12. Hi Vanessa,

    As promised:

toilet bowl : approx 950 (1 piece -master)

approx 850 (2 piece -common, assuming u want a better 1 for master)

    sink : approx 800 (400 x 2)

    taps: 580 (290 x 2)

shower: approx 900 (rain shower. forgot the price for normal 1, which we assume it'll be for common)

    total = 4,080

    After disc 35% = 2,652

We forgot the price of the kitchen tap though.

Actually there's not much diff in prices if we buy from Hafary or Toto. For Hafary, toilet bowls not as pricey as toto, but the hansgrohe shower/taps slightly more ex than Toto brand.

And for Toto, its vice versa.

You can try asking some members here who bought their Hans fittings online. According to them its much cheaper.

Yup saw some of the guys actually buying their fittings from Germany and amazon! Thats a option to consider if u are into online shopping.

  13. two commonly used words on RT: Poison and Drool lol

The amazon shopping thread is poison indeed but it seemed very complicated to figure out which products are eligible for the free gloabal shopping. Gg To spend one fine day to try ordering the monster cable management kit and a yoga mat. And maybe a panini griller since I already have a giant transformer! Bought a Bodium coffee grinder for sgd30 two years ago while Tangs was retailing at about sgd100.

actually it's not that hard there is a little check box at the side that says global shipping , check that n it will auto filter for you !

  14. Hahaha.. Yaa.. My wife and I are seriously addicted with Amazon shopping lol. It's really really cheap compared to Singapore prices.

Quite drastic changes hoh. Well, credit to my wife, really. She's the one planning all that. I am only in charge of the loose items e.g. mattress, TV, dining set, etc :P

How do you know I got MyRepublic Pure HD? Hahaha.. Their service is amazing la. I've been a user of Singtel and Starhub previously, none can be compared to MyRepublic. BTW, I forgot to test the range of my router, hopefully in my master bedroom still can get good signal.

On a side note, your blog is poisoning as well, saw you posted the Cuisinart blender. I almost pulled the trigger at Amazon, which is selling at USD 100++ nia.. You might want to check it out ;)

Yah la.. now im poisoned also.. spent the whole afternoon selecting the OXO series for kitchen whats it and kicnacks. Yah saw but thinking of the voltage problem and having to get a transformer for such a thing is abit troublesome.

Spent the whole afternoon looking at global knifes on amazon.. then realised.. actually locally also selling only at extra 10-15 bucks.. so might be thinking of getting locally instead. Should look at the cleaver and the asian knife.. u will gian also. :notti:

Aiya see the router should be myrepublic..cause im lookin at it also haha. so all the models i recognised. In fact i just signed up this evening assuming the paperwork gets thru proper..as the girl at the iknow counter inside popular doesn't seem to know exactly what to do..

im thinking of getting the cuisineart blender later on as now cash is tight with my wedding coming this friday! Alot of buying put on hold! ..

Can only add to cart and wait..

Let me guess u are a photographer right. is your wife a designer?
