  3. Hi, I went thru this selection process one month ago like the other members and know what you are going thru. Just my piece, Darwin was the first I approach, the Guy did not come back with a quote after asking me for my floor plan. That was since late june. Since then I have moved on and found a contractor I am comfortable with. Wish you all the best in your search. If in doubt or feeling not right with the id, move on to the next on.
  4. Day 3, 12 September 2012 Nasty surprise awaits me after we removed the door frame from utility wall The wood is rotting from inside, take another look Take a look on the right wall, it's the wall of the ultity room The wall of utility room will be partially hacked away to make way for a service counter. the hacking of the kitchen, the maid room is completed, toilets are ongoing and should be completed by tommorrow. The car pouch , walkways and wet kitchen will start soon. I Can't wait to see more progress
  5. family friend is giving me this set of outdoor dinning chairs. i absolutely love it. can't wait to place them in the house Before i even moved in, my BFF got me a key holder.

  7. The plumber will run everything for you. Its not complicated. I like heater tank better because the water pressure is better, you get a better shower. Once you try it, you wont go back to instant heater. You want I can pm you a company that does plumbling, electrical and aircon. They are very pro and not expensive. Except got gst.
  8. Sarah, mocha was about 1 and half year old when we adopted him. He should be three and half now. Yes Netherlands dwarf, super adorable. I am planning to to plant some spikes on the walls and grow some tall planters to block the car pouch grills, will declare my battle with the cats... , thanks for support. It's nice to know you drop by my t-blog

  10. My Current system not working well. right arm motor is weak, lock does not work anymore, even the remote control also dying on me. I could not find the OVA brand so since i am hacking the yard so change it at the same time. New gate is very costly especially sliding ones. better to watch what i spend on.
  11. Minerat, nice lights. btw did you install the cables up to level 3, my friend said even with wireless router, level 3 cannot receive internet signal very well? i wonder how much it will cost?
  12. SWING GATE OR SLIDING GATE After much consideration and budget constraint. we decided to keep the present swing gate and change the swing gate system. To share with fellow forummers who are looking into this, i done some homework on my part. Quotation from well know gate company and similar competitor for Malaysian Made Motors such as RANGER is prized about $1800 even $1950 with sensor, italian brand FAAC swing arm cost $2500 to 3000, FAAC slide motor cost 2180 with sensor but if you get from the distributors directly it will cost you from $1000 t0 1300. Brands from Ranger, DORMA, GOOD1 with warranty of up to 18months and one to one exchange that is a savings of at least $500 with no gst as well. Hope i can find more good deals to save money $$$
  13. Thank you Shmj, recd it with a grateful heart.
  14. my walk-in waldrobe is gone and i am surprise to see that beautiful space. better ask Jaskel to design a waldrobe that will allow the light to shine through. i dont want to box it up for another decade. See the vanity basin and cabinet area after hacking. The amount of fungal, mould and yacky stuff that grows inside, below and behind the cabinet. None of that for me. My new toilets will have wall mount poceline vanity top to keep it simple and clean.
  15. DAY 1 - HACKING, DISMANTLE OF EXISTING FURNITURE HAS BEGAN it will last for one week, all existing doors, door frames, built in furniture, toilet fittings, tiles, everything will go. the protection over the marble the empty space where the build-in waldrobe in the study room. The aircon will be dismantle and mount back on after the partitition and cornices are removed. this room will become a study and playroom for my boy Masterbedroom empty wall where the waldrobe used to be. notice the odd shaped wall, the new waldrobe will go all the way up to the ceiling. to cover up the wall.

  20. the other side of utility wall will be demolished for a kitchen wall extension A look at my little utility room before it goes under transformation A peek at my tiny kitchen which is about same size as my current condo kitchen View from kitchen back door, see the wall on the left side of photo. it will be hacked and extended out to turn this L shaped kitchen into a Square kitchen. Hope my Kind contractor, Mr Jason will give me a good price on my VO , Variation order. Our Visitor toilet at level one. Very small so we won't be putting a shower screen but using a shower curtain to create more space for the WC. for the benefit of Plus size visitors.
