  1. Thank you Kalimantan Actually I have read through some of the threads here and getting a bit confused...so asking for advice from people who have really tried a certain fengshui master and it worked for them. Will drop you a PM soon.
  2. Hi, I am moving to a new tiny 2 bedroom private apt soon and considering whether to engage a feng shui master. Many years ago, we got a feng shui master to see our 5room flat, cos my kid was weak and got sick all the time. He suggested to put some coins, water fountain and hulu, etc. Totally no need to move furniture or hack walls. but we lost his contact after so many years. All these years, my kid's health improved but my wife become more sickly. My work also not plain smooth....so considering getting another feng shui master for our coming new home. Can anyone recommend a good feng shui master that you personally have tried before and worked for you? Preferably no need to do major changes to my home....similar to my previous feng shui master. thank you
  3. Hi folks, Recently, the weather has been very warm, so I am considering to install a ceiling fan in my living room. Unfortunately, I have a false ceiling installed, so it is not possible to install a ceiling fan. I am trying to remove the middle part of the false ceiling...cut it out and convert it to a light holder. Then install a fan. See picture below. Does anyone know how much such a job will cost? Any contractors to recommend? I approached the contractors recommended by HDB but they only provide repair services. Thanks in advance!
  4. Hi Tek888,

I am currently looking to install AC, can i know how much you pay for the panasonic system 3? Which GC did you go to? Jurong or Marina SQ?

  5. If it's non-inverter type I think it is worthwhile to change. Inverter aircon is quieter and more power efficient.
  6. Hi folks, Finally I went for the Panasonic system 3 from GC. The price was slightly more expensive than Natural Cool but I feel it was money well spent. The pipes were upgraded to the thicker G22 and also thicker insulation as well. The workmanship of the installers was excellent, especially compared to the previous install done >10years ago, also by GC. Trunkings were very neat and the installers were very attentive to minor details. Overall a very good experience. I monitored my power consumption for the last couple of days and was pleasantly surprised to see 60% reduction. I was only expecting around 30~40% based on what I gathered from my friends. So 60% is a bonus. Either my previous aircon was grossly inefficient or the new one is extremely thrifty.
  7. thanks for sharing. I also went to the same outlet at rivervale mall last week but the sales guy only recommended Toshiba to me...saying there was promotion then. Perhaps you will like to read up on the feedbacks on this company in this forum.
  8. 2499 is inclusive of new pipes? I went to GC last week and they quoted 2799
  9. I am also looking for a system 3 inverter. That quote was provided by Natural Cool if I am not mistaken.
  10. Thank you zep It's always great to hear from the expert's point of view. A refreshing change from the sales talk that one usually gets stepping into an aircon shop. I have pretty much narrowed down to Mitsubishi and Panasonic, as the prices for Toshiba seems to be steeper compared to these 2. Many bros mentioned Mitsubishi Electric is different from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and it is better to get the former. Can you enlighten us on what are the differences between these 2 brands?
  11. wow! That's very good information. Thanks dragonnite That Rowenta oven looks cool, but I think it is too "pro" for my wife. She just started doing baking and since I am not sure how long her new-found interest will last, I am planning to get her an oven that is in the range of $200-300. So do you see an electric bill shock if you use your oven? My electric bill increased by about $100 when my wife uses the small oven.
  12. Hi, Recently my wife starting making cookies and cakes with our small Tanaka electric oven and we were shocked to see our electric bills shot through the roof. Through some monitoring, I gathered that the electric oven (more like a toaster as it only has 16L capacity) consumes about 15-20 KWh per hour of usage. My wife uses it for up to 2 hours each time. Using simple calculations, I could buy her a newer, better oven with the electric bills chalked up in a month. Some of our friends said the small 16L electric oven that we have is not mean for making cookies or cakes as it is meant for simpler tasks like heating up sandwitches and all. True? Our current Tanaka oven looks like this. It comes with 3 knobs just like the one in the url. http://www.beds.sg/home-appliance/kitchen-appliances/electric-ovens/mistral-20l-oven-toaster.html I am considering to buy a proper oven that is made more for making cookies and cakes. Saw some Tefal ovens during a roadshow and my wife liked them very much. URLs for a 24L and a 30L below. Now the question is whether these ovens consume as much electricity (if not more) than our current one. Of course, the promoter told us to go ahead and make the purchase and said these oven don't consume much power. http://www.courts.com.sg/Products/PID-IP042163%28Courts%29.aspx http://www.courts.com.sg/Products/PID-IP044729%28Courts%29.aspx I read up on some built in ovens that are 60L or bigger and they all stated power consumptions of 2-3KWh. So I am not sure why our existing puny oven consumes so much of power. Your advice will be much appreciated.
  13. Thanks Bento for your input. I just learnt there are in-house experts Aron and Tim and have asked them for quotes on Mitsubishi, Panasonic and Toshibe so that I can make a comparison. If the $ difference is not too much, I might go for Mit or Toshiba instead.
  14. Thanks Aron for the quote for Mitsubishi system 3. Can you please advise likewise for Toshiba anbd Panasonic system 3 inverters?
