  1. The condition of the house looks good. All the best in your reno journey!
  2. Yes, hacking needs to pay, but at least can save on the whole wall tiling.
  3. I love the house! Too beautiful to believe it's in fact an hdb flat! 180K well spent!
  4. very very beautiful, really! I received a quotation from James who used to tag along with donny, from your experience, is he good too?
  5. If you were to have a house warming, suggest you to invite the previous house owner! Congrats! Indeed a nice and great transformation! When me and my hubby did our house hunting, we ran out in no time when we saw a flat with such condition. I guess we were just too short sighted and missed out some nice layout flats, as we never think far enough that a decent reno can change a ****-like home to heaven!
  6. thanks ultimax! i think i will be doing cement screed for the wall opposite the hob/hood only, sink area will still be using tiles, but since it's a small L shape area, so it won't cost too much, then for the cooking area, will cover it by these trendy sleek glass panel in this way, i still managed to save quite a lot! cheers!
  7. sell my house and get a good cov to compensate west's beautiful cov offer. hahaha!
  8. my cov 26k, no view how to pay 30k, so i bargain with the seller lor...
  9. i'm getting one of the unit in the area you mention, starry night is still beautiful at level 20 and above, of course the cov is also heavily beautiful. unfortunately, i couldn't enjoy these blue stars cuz i can only afford a unit at low level with no views at all, sob sob i'm asking west to sell the flat to me after 5 years, hahahaha!
  10. Good say, west! it's only a downgrade in floor area! Your flat looks amazingly neat without any visible pipes, my resale flat is also 10-yr old, but the pipes are all around in the bathrooms, with very low hung position, disgusting! If you want to sell your house after 5 yrs, pls let me know immediately, wakakakakakaka!!! Congrats again!
  11. Wow west, your actual end result is far nicer than the 3D drawings! I love everything of it, from the location, views, designs, crazy ceilings, lux bathrooms, arrrggghhh....! I'm going to hack down my study room wall just like yours, but adding a display cabinet is the thing that we never thought of, can I steal the idea? hahaha, gonna check with my ID for the cost of it! Indeed a dream house! Btw, me also stay in jurong west, downgrade from 5rm to 4rm in AMK
  12. How i wish my pocket is deep enough, i think i have to cut cost on the tiling jobs for my kitchen wall. Most ppl (include my hubby) have suggested to cement screed and paint over the existing kitchen wall tiles, which could give a new wall look and feel. I am quite skeptical about doing this in the kitchen, what about the maintenance on these oil stains??!! Again, RT is a good place to learn new things, few more options that catch my eyes: a. spray coating b. epoxy paint They are said to be cheap and good, give a new look to the old ceramic tiles. Anybody can enlighten me if i should use cement screed+paint, or option a or b for my kitchen wall? btw, the wall is just about 10yrs old, so the condition is still solid. Thanks in advance!
  13. Hi kenny, it is the HERF you are talking about, isn't it? wondering how much is it psf? very interesting features (come with high cost??)
  14. very beautiful ceiling you have, with only cornice, so clean yet so elegant!
  15. Noticed that many ventilation fans are installed on the window glass itself, it looks a bit strange to me. Shouldn't it be installed on the wall rather than the window? i mean open a hole on top or beside the bathroom window, and fit the fan in. Or, it is another rule from hdb?
