  1. From Mustafa, then the price should be ok I guess? I've been eyeing something like since last year. :dribble:

But but...when I showed the pic of the fan and some other retro-looking clock to my hubby, he said "if these are what you call retro, then they're ugly.":~8|

hmmm, got to find a way to get him to like them :help:

It's $129... I think TANGS and Best Denki were selling it cheaper but no stock anymore since it has been discontinued.

  2. haha i think she will either 8| or :bangwall: if i go around telling pple what kind of price she gave. if u r keen, get the contact from me & check with her directly? smeg fridge not only complements the look, but completes it as well. so it's a pretty good investment. n i heard the fridge is from spain?

i don't think so? coz i think there's a max no. of colors i can use for painting & it's still within the limit.

Eh, is it normal brush painting? Does this leave paint streaks on the door? Did the painter sand down the surface before painting? Maybe I should opt for this instead of varnishing my wooden doors.

  3. Bluecheeze, what my friend did was she tested all e down lights at e shop to make sure it's working so that she does not hv to make a double trip. But becos she ordered alot and e shop dun hv all e stock she still hv to make another trip down to collect it. The cost savings are substantial enuf so no complains hahaha...

    Great u got e fan :) So u not getting e e mini fan anymore :)

Thanks for the info. If buying E27 downlights, that is, non LED, is cost savings substantial?

That "mini fan" (vento fino) is not that practical to me, unless i buy the improved version which can oscillate, but it is soooo pricey!

  4. Hi Bluecheeze,

I bought it from IMM. Mustafa is also carrying it :)

U shld be able to get it there.

Did u manage to go JB? :)

Yes, i called iona today they told me this model has been discontinued, advised me to try my luck at mustafa! So I cheong there to buy one!

Haven't go JB yet. If I go, it shd be next weekend. But now thinking maybe I should buy all downlights here. I scared if I buy in JB and somehow it is faulty, have to go back exchange. What do u think?

  5. count me in...for my new house i ordered a 1.8m tall mirror..i think that will serve the purpose liao

Wa, what mirror you order? Wall-mount one? I intend to buy an ikea wall mirror, or perhaps a tall stand mirror. Haven't decide yet. My WIW is longish shape, so makeup area on one end, the other end will be the tall mirror and where i blow hair :P

  6. For some reasons, since I was a teenager until now, a dressing table has never been part of my life. I just stand infront of the vanity area if I need to put on my makeup and the do.

I confirmed I am not at all that ladylike! Haha....

I don't have dressing table either! I'm using a wall mounted CD shelf for this purpose, with just a normal mirror placed on it.

  7. Hi,

I got it from Best Denki :) It's noiser than those kdk fan. So I guess it's good for aesthetic reasons.

I have been looking for this fan but to no avail. Best denki told me it's out of stock and they not bringing in anymore. Which best denki outlet did you buy this from?

  8. My sofa is about 3m long... Yes I have a coffee table

Your sofa is so long! is it L-shaped? If it is L-shape, then you can put the carpet within that L, best that the carpet is around the same length or slightly shorter than it. Actually size of carpet is very subjective, I personally prefer it to be same length or slightly shorter than my sofa. :)

  9. HAMPEN rug from IKEA... Will 133 x 195 cm be too big for my living room? :dunno:

    hampen-rug-high-pile__0118945_PE275048_S4.JPG

On a sidenote... looking for wallpaper and curtains contacts now! :dancingqueen:

Will drop by the newly open Om at Toh Guan this weekend to see what's available. :sport-smiley-004:

I think this is not too big. What is the size of your sofa? Do you have a coffee table?

  10. Exactly my thought. The clothes will be very visible. It's currently a wall with a window gap (but no window). Also need to think ant what to do with that part. Shall post some pix tml!

Just met up with Alan, he mentioned there might be a beam in the wall between living and kitchen. But hdb has already approved.. Shouldn't it be okay enough to hack it? He said need to hack already then know.

Haha... like my unit's case, hacked liao then realise got this pillar standing in the way, and if I want to hack it, have to remove the false beam above it and part of my kitchen false ceiling was affected too...

  11. There is actually already a wall with an opening. What I intend to do is to bring down the whole wall for a open feel.

But my concern is that the service balcony is also my place with the laundry and the uglys. So end up, it might be even more cluttered than open!

If I am you, I will not hack that wall. Don't like the idea of clothes hanging there to be very visible in the kitchen. Moreover when you cook, the fumes may affect clothes if they happen to be there?
