This is creepy!! Sounds like RAW - a movie about RATS...euuhhh...yucks!!

Reno is a pain and have such massive headache. My contractor said i cannot start work so soon - as the hdb permit takes three days!! Sob!! Euuhhhh....5th floor rats have further up and getting bolder!! This is really the first time in my life to see rat in an apartment! Thought the days of the rats running in homes are gone... Disinfect disinfect!!

So far renovation costs is estimated to be $30,000 = +/- not sure yet as along the way i might change something. So far - after i started going amok buy buy buy, my damage is: 1) Comex - Panasonic Plasma 42" - $2499 - comes with 3 years + 2 years extended warranty free and $100 robinson and $200 NTUC voucher FREE 2) Went to Lookz today and bought a **** lot of things - I felt it was **** lot, but my ID told me it is not so. My damage there is $2500 with bathroom wares, accessories, heater and a kitchen sink. Other damages awaiting to materialise: 1) Fridge ($800) + Washer + Dryer ($1200) = $2000 2) Hob + Hob = $700 3) Aircon = $2500 4) Bed + mattress from Ikea = $900 5) TV console $500 + Dinning Table $1,000 + Sofa $1,000 = $2500 6) Electrical wiring + rewiring = $2000 7) Roller blinds = $800 8) Other barang barang $1200 Total damages waiting to materialise: $12,600 Total estimated renovation (move-in) $12,600 + $2,500 + $2,499 + $30,000 ~ $48,000!! Man am i crazy or what?

Just had my "ID" up my place today to take actual measurements. The reno will be starting on either Tues/Wed once the reno permit is ready. *haiz* very excited. Cannot contain my excitment that I get sleepless nites... I tell you I cannot wait to whack all the things away! My god...will share my excitement on the progress... he he he Now you saw mine...yi shan hai you yi shan gao...

As promised...the very much anticipated flat...is unveiled... Pictures galore...be prepared to cringe...if you are smelling something bad now it must be from the pictures you are about to see...OMG!!

OMG - what a surprise! My agent rang me up 9 times. Well why 9 times, coz i had been busy meeting and away and had these 9 miss calls. He told me he would be able to deliver the keys to me in 20 mins to my new place! Yayyy so happy and totally unexpected. So i got my colleagues to drive me down to my new place. Guess what...the mangali were moving out still and the whole place got a stale stench. They use aluminium foil to cover up the window panes and the place was dark! There was terrible stench in the toilet and the kitchen.... There were one big wardrobe (look like it belong to era eyon) and one display cabinet in another room. There is a run down washing machine in the toilet! So my agent growl at the mangali to haul those things out. But they as usual drag their feet and refuse to do so! But finally gave in. They move out the cabinet, then moved the washing out. To our horror, the washing was infested with roaches!! Euuuuhhhh....and when they move it roaches were gushing out!! To our biggest HORROR there was a RAT i mean RAT BIG one the size of a CAT jumped out!! Not exaggerating! Everyone was petrified - even the mangali jumped! my agent then went around to look for the rat! Noone could find it! And finally we were not convinced that the rat was gone, we went mouse hunting. To be honest the place was so small u could know where it was! But it was gone! Surprisingly!! Guess what? We finally found it...taaadaaaa.....at the kitchen window sill the opening of the casement....trying to evade us! And my agent quickly got the mangali to close the window and then bring down the casement and the RAT FELL 6 floor down! I think it did not fall 6 floor down! Guess what? As the window to the toilet of my poor nighbour on the 5th floor was open, it actually fell in!! Anyway that was the drama mama and evening time brought my parents there to bai bai with incense and joss paper. Then also got a window contractor to come measure my windows. Quoted me 1000% cheaper than my designer. I took up his offer and will tell my designer to remove that item tom when i see him. Tom i will go take some pictures, will post how run down the place it. Too bad I cannot import the smell of the flat, else it will make u cringe. Till then...

I hope it will transform into the nice abode I want...I would enjoy the final place later but I think I cannot handle the reno period!! It will be such a pain!! Yah that is why i grab this unit even though the place was super run down... I dun think am doing so much work there, i be doing overlay and no kitchen wall tiles too...so 30k seemed alot to me *heartache* money hard to earn and loan hard to pay! $64k for 3 room!!!! This is like 2/5 of the purchase price of my place!! no way - then I rather plonk in money for a bigger place lor... I can't bear to see the place...when i first saw it it was already run down. After the 10 ah bu neh nehs move out i think the place would look like a war torn zone!! Will post some pictures of the current state on Sat or Sun as I will be getting my keys on Friday! Yayyyyy Arigato!!

I have a set of wish lists which may not materialise: 1) Kronotex flooring - the new floorings which looks like long plank of solid wood flooring. But so expensive here in Singapore - asked for a quote for my place and it costs $5k!! I will be asking for their quotes. I went to their showroom and they said it costs about $280 per bifold door for toilets!! 4) Rain shower head 5) Nice leather 2 seater sofa 6) Plasma TV (top of the mind panasonic or Samsung 42") 7) Side-by-Side Fridge Yes Jaw Drop indeed! But the flat is totally run down and i have to reconstruct it somehow. I believe i had been ripped off at some point in between. If you look at my main blog you can see how much individual items i was quoted... Anywayz the theme i am looking at is modern, cozy feeling. Not Zen, just modern. Worth $30K? I am not sure. I am going to chop some items from the quotes and get someone else to do it.

Just bought a 3 Room S 63sqm at Pao Ma Lu! Find the floor plan here Amazingly squarish and easy for decoration. Second appointment soon...want to just grab key soon but unit is occupied by Ah bu Neh Neh Workers! 10 somemore! Renovation damaged quoted at about 30k exclude electrical and furniture mind you!

Which one is bad? I went to Arts & Tots for quotation - still waiting. Wonder how they would be like.
