  1. actually the more i think about it the more i dun wan hood liao. can u imagine the accumulated dirt trapped and u r cooking directly underneath it? yaks! non-sliding doors - practical - i LIKE! If design ok, ONZ! living room ceiling fan - ONZ!
  2. Thanks for the tip! I didn't know can ask for that to include into contract.
  3. Ya ID#2 left out dismantling fees and did not include plumbing - tatz the reason to rule him out and makes me worried about if I dont do enough homework and comparison, what other hidden costs there will be. Again, Yaks!
  4. Mine is 2 bedroom. ID#1 & ID#2 quoted free for floor protection, general cleaning, haulage etc but ID#3 lists approx $500 and these did not include demolition/dismantling which can seem to go up to 2k. Generally nothing is free. All bundled here and there, I believe. I am not looking for the cheapest neither am I willing to pay above the market rate 'cos the later does not guarantee good quality works as well. I just need a hassel free reno and a comfy home to shift in to with my kid and I dont think I am the detailed type that enjoys reno process hence I still think perhaps ID suits me best but the quotes I received so far seem to be above my budget. I hope to nail down quick so that I can start looking for furnitures, appliances, accessories deals but ... yaks!
  5. Hi Cynta28, I am planning to reno my 2BR next year too! To date only sourced 3 IDs. #1 ID: Felt comfortable. But initial proposal did not exactly follow my fs layout. Did proper fu. #2 ID: Sounds clueless and more like a contractor. DId not keep to quote promise date and quote more ex than #1. So total rule out. #3 ID: Listened and follow exactly my requirements. But alas, price was ex. Still in a dilemma if to go for contractor to save costs but still prefer ID to oversee everything and provide advice. Pleasssseeee share your sourcing journey here - would keep a lookout for your posts.
  6. Hi, are you satisfied with your contractor? i am looking for kitchen contractor. would you be able to provide contact? THANKS SO MUCH!

  7. I LOVE this thread! Need advice or tips 1. Hood - Do I still need it if I only cook once a day and typically simple meals? 2. Sliding vs non-sliding (cheaper) wardrobe? 3. Bay window for awkward shape corner. Any tips? 4. Ceiling fan - not sure about maintenance and kept imagining circulation of dust if not cleaned ;-<

  16. I must say I am skeptical though I just engaged one FSM company to perform house audit for my recent unit bought. I am waiting for their house audit report and anticipating weird reno requests or requests to buy stuffs here and there. Anyone has any personal success stories to share that FS house audits helped them one way or another? & if the house doesn't suit the kua of a person, can this still be corrected/remedied?
