yeah, I was very surprised and glad that my contractor actually told me no problem and no additional cost involved when I asked for the doors to be painted... alot of other IDs were hesitant when I asked for the doors to be painted, some even saying that the door would not be able to close properly due to thickness of the paint, etc....

We've began installing some of the lights, others will need to wait for carpentry to come up. Corridor track light Haiku fan is up! IKEA's mini tracklight at the main entrance. Painting has completed. The bulk of the colour is in sail white. An urban grey wall in the MBR and a seabreeze blue in the common bedroom wall. The remaining is black door frames/bomb shelter door/pipes in the service yard Wifey wanted something really close to tiffany blue, so we got this. Do you think its close to tiffany blue? The urban grey wall in the MBR We repainted all the original HDB laminated doors to white and black for the bomb shelter door and door frames. Love it! The door to the relocated MBR entrance was accidentally disposed during the hacking work. Contractor will claim a new door from his sub-contractor. The new sliding door to the MBR sleep area will also be painted in white.

Hi Sappyd, the we've selected the KompacPlus with our IDs but don't think they have ordered as our carpentry work have not yet started. I think they need to measure the size on-site before fabricating it...guessing need at least another 2 weeks before it will be up.

Common toilet MBR toilet. The best they could do to cover up the a/c trunkings. The cove light here have to shrink to only 1-2ft long compared to the common toilet. Love the cement screeded wall/beam. The beam's finishing is still in-progress. The 3 dangling wires on the beam is for our breakfast counter's Tom Dixon Beats lights. hopefully won't look awkward as it dangles pretty low.

Cement screeding of a small portion of the kitchen wall and the beam in progress. Washing machine base. Common bathroom alcove wall. Master bathroom alcove wall. The aircon trunkings seen here will be hidden as we will have false ceilings in both the toilets.

Some slow but steady progress. Gain City has just installed the aircon trunkings. The MBR, there will be a small panel/wall constructed to match the angular trunking for the sliding door to close completely here. The Study/Wardrobe Room, will be doing box up here.. The other common bedroom, will also be doing box up here.. The living room, will also box up here.

wah, u got a good deal then..I went to both Gaincity Marina Sq and Gaincity AMK, both did not budge when I keep asking for a better price. They claim that aircon price is strictly fixed at Gain City.

$3098.. pretty high end range.. actually wanted to get the $1999 + $300 Purchase-with-Purchase microwave package previously but the package ended everywhere, it was replaced with another package with another hood which we dislike and a lower end oven. Harven Norman could still give me that previous package but with a lower end oven and an increased price to $2.4k.. very reluctant to spend more for something less so end up purchase a higher end package with the latest hood..

aircon is not cheap. Got it at $4364. There are many cheaper options with other aircon specialists but we went with Gain City because of installment payment. TV is $3359 with a $1000 cash rebate promotion which lasted only 3 days during the IT show weekend, so its effectively only $2359. Bargained for a HDMI cable as well that is worth $70+. Sink is $700+ with the faucet. Paid additional to get the faucet in matching white.

We will have to make do with the 2 different alignments of the timber strip flooring after the reconfiguration of the MBR. The new wall partially constructed. The minor relocation of MBR entrance which cost quite abit but was necessary to get our desired study/wardrobe configuration and to make use of the "corridor" space.

1 week has passed since work started. Hacking work has completed. Electrical cabling has been extended and shifted. Both the toilet's boxed-up has been removed to make way for false ceiling. Both the toilet's basins and tap has been removed. New shifted wall is constructed partially. I'm selling these original HDB basin/taps if anyone interested pm me with your offer.

Thanks. Total cost is about 40k, ID fees + contractor work. Renovation work excludes flooring and doors as they are done by HDB. I wont be sharing the breakdown quotation as I think it is not fair to BPS.
