    Rdnest, hehe hope that I won't puke too much during pregs in future. I have a fren who needed bed rest for the 1st tri, cuz puke too much! :P

    Give the hospital a call and enquire when got tour. good chance to see facilities and usually they'll give some milk samples, etc

    Sister Angel81, If I were to answer you seriously in question, I will seriously advise you to consider your prenatal and delivery care elsewhere. Taking up a prenatal care with KKH is really depends on your luck with the gynae. Unless you have some doctors in mind. (intro by people here or from singaporemotherhood)

    I dun really want to elaborate further, as you might have heard "something" from others. I have witnessed much worst (twice) but I can't reveal it here as it maybe sensitive.

    My 2 sisters' nephews were delivered in mount alvernia in march 09. From what I observed, the nurses and the welfare officers are very friendly with good temper. I maybe consider letting my wife to deliver in mount alvernia, as she's just starting her 2nd trimester.

    How's Thomson Medical Centre? Another good choice?

    From my research MAH and TMC are about the 2 most partonized by mums and often thumbs up for value for $.

    Congrates!!!! U must be very excited. :D How's the service at KKH? Some pple say it's good, some say no good. I would like to go to KKH in future, but very confused with the conflicting comments that I got from others. :P

    Hehe, ya, dun be too excited, if not fall further. I last mth was sooo convinced that I'm pregs.. In the end.. cry cry cry. hahaha. This mth, just bochap, if yes then YEAH! if no, yay also, cuz can have more fun next mth. hahaha :P

    PMS symptoms like cramps or light bleeding (pinkish in colour) for a couple of days. Go read up about implantation bleeding or early pregnancy bleeding to learn more. :) *crossing fingers for u!*

    Hehe, I'm currently taking Blackmores' supps for pregs/bfg. Been taking them for awhile le, cuz read that it's gd to start taking earlier to boost body & in case BB come and duno. I'll chk w gynae next time when I pregs bah. :) Tink my auntie visiting me w/in these couple of days. :~ Starting to get tummy cramps le

    Oh my... That's scary. Heng u let go of that maid earlier. *shudders* Yah, I don't trust maids to take care of kids. Nowadays hear so many stories about maids abusing the kids. And I don't wana go to jail too, cuz tat's where I'll have to go after beating up my maid if she abuses my future kids. hahahahah :D

    Haha.. My wife also wants to try for a girl.. after our first 2 are boys. But financially it's too much of a strain now... what with our purchase of a resale condo. then also wonder how if another fighter comes out to join the party..

    but .. think the main worry is the caregiver portion.. cos all her aunties/mum already stretched looking after all the little ones. and we dun really trust nanny (not forgetting they cost alot too). Maids are out of the question after one of our ex-maids ended up murdering her new employer one month after we had released her.

    That said, if she really wants.. then I gotta work really hard... finance wise I mean.. haha

    Sometimes work hard does not mean high remuneration also...

    I take my job seriously and work hard...boss say haf to clip my wings, dun grow so fast..

    Ttz was 2yrs back.....sigh....

    Yah, I also heard tat it's nt v gd to travel during 1st tri, cuz the BB may not b very stable. I think if there's no complications like spotting/bleeding etc, then it should be fine bah. Also by that time, ur shd have met up with a gynae liao, and can check with the gynae if the BB is stable anot loh. :)

    hello88 I heard about stopping supplement pills wen pregs and chk with gynae if the pills are fine anot. But if I'm taking those pills for pregs/breastfeeding. Those also need to stop?

    2wk wait means ovulation most active over liao....so within 2wk if no mensus, means high chance of good news lor. :thumbs up:

    can also visit the gynae to listen to his advises especially for 1st time parents...also get folic acid and vitamins or calcium pills for those in need of it.

    one point to note is,once wifey confirm pregnant, stop all your vitamins or supplements if u're not sure of the dosage for pregnant ladies eg Vitamin A.

    Now we're in the 2wk week....hopefully next wkend nobody come visit my wife :D

    First trimester is ok to travel, only towards the end of 2nd trimester where stomach is getting bigger then it is advice not to travel unless with Doc endorsement.

    SWINE..... u still have to go cause everything pay for unless u r willing to give it up. Did u buy travel insurance? Can claim or not?

    Cox i read in other forums about not travelling during 1st tri hence the mixed feelings.

    Yes will be getting travel insurance. I also hope nothing goes wrong cause alot of plans for the us trip liao.

    Heheh, Happy Belated Bdae to familyof4's little boy! :D Wah, that means u r very young onli leh, since u had ur 1st wen u're 24.

    Haha, Zc31, for a moment, I tot ur wife pregs liao. hehe.. Hope to hear the gd news from you soon! I read online (in sgmommies forum) that there's not much of a use to go gynae before 8wks, cuz the only thing they can do is confirm the pregnancy. And so, it'll be a waste of $, esp since the doc will tell ur to come back then to scan etc. The advice from the forum is to just confirm pregs with GP and search ard for a gynae. 8wks then go scan. Save $$. :D

    Hehe but having it confirmed is nice.

    But hor now i got some funny worries. If my wife pregnant now, she's not advice to travel in first trimester right?

    Cause we're going USA in june for holiday and to make things worst, SWINE!!!!

    Congrats ya.

    Yes book appt with gynae but i will suggest somewhere around week 7 to 8, that's the time where u can see and hear the heart beat, major development for that week. If too early, see nothing, only one oval dot to confirm pregnant that'all/

    Oh haben happen to us yet but we're hoping for....

    Errr....so before 8wk jux go GP weill do or still go gynae?

    Yup wife is takign pills and we track the ovulation cycles/dates over 3 websites for more "opinions" in event of wrong info.

    After the doing, i prop up her hip with pillows, but not put leg on wall cox my wall is white hehe

    i do admit stressfl at times...it's like ok time liao then do....enjoy but still not like last time can anyhow....

    it's like when i know i'm coming, i make sure she's at the bottom alrdy..... or in some "optimal position".

    been trying to keep a good dietary as well. Usual week will haf ample fruits like strawberry, grapes, banana and milk

    hi, am sure that you and ZC are not ID, as no ID will disguise for about 1 year in the same thread ;)

    hmm, not looking for the cheapest, but looking for the value, incl after-sale service... hv met kelvin 2 times, last sat he was at my place for site visit, so that can quote more accurately based on actual layout/measurement... also get his opinion on our reno plan... i did feedback to him a few items that quoted far too high (i.e. > 50% higher than other IDs)... we are not looking at him totally match or lower than other quotes... we can accept if it's not more than 20%... i think have to give and take... as i do not want him to sacrifice his bottomline either... he has been very considerate, and managed to revise the quotation to match our budget... we are meeting him again at our place tomorrow, as we have some new reno idea that he prefer to take measurement and quote/suggest accordingly...

    ya, that's for sure, someone in disguise will not post so many pictures :rolleyes:

    my new place near bkt batok, but have not requested kelvin for any viewing yet...

    i asked kelvin to show me draft design... not the sofisticated 3D plan, but just 2D layout plan... but he said he will only come out with the design after confirmation... is it the norm? this is the first time i engaged ID, so don't know what is the industry norm... as some other IDs did show me the design layout plan, and some even have hand-drawn draft design...

    i hv another silly question... as i mentioned that i got quotation from 4 IDs, but eventually i can only award the contract to one... but all of them have spent considerable amount of time thinking abt the design and come out with the quotation... so, normally how do you "reject" the rest... i hv never done that before and feel quite bad :(

    One thing i can tell you is Kelvin has no hidden cost from my experience, unless along the way of reno you add stuff.

    A friend did'nt take Kelvin's quote and in the end, although intial quote was cheaper, the final bill of hidden came up to slightly more then kelvin's intial.

    For the qns on plan, it's not really a practise, more of a individual company practise.

    Just to share - every quote is customised as needs are diff. Can you imagine going all the work then use the design go other firms? Lots has experience this bad path, hence usualyl after confirmation or put a 1k deposit then see drawings, know what i mean?

    Just wondering how long did Tau take to get back to you on the 1st quotation... i 1st emailed them on 12 Apr with my floor plan and SMS-ed Kelvin to inform him.. he replied and said never received and asked me to resend.. which I did on 15 Apr and SMS-ed Kelvin again to inform him.. he just said thank u but never SMS back to say whether he received my email or not... until now still haven receive any reply from them leh...

    I see, thanks alot! I've also found out that some ID do detailing, in other words, they will draw the exact measurements for the customised items rather than just passing their drawings to the contractors who will base on their experience come out with the final product. It seems like with detailing, the final product will be closer to what you see in the initial drawings. So do Tau Ids do detailing also? anyway can anyone please pm me their contacts? I'm thinking of making an appointment with them :) Anyway got anyone's name here i can quote to get a better price or not huh? can say you recommend me one :) haha

    but they seem so busy with so many projects, worry whether they'll be able to take on my house and do a good job or not....

    I'm not sure if the detailing expectation is the same, but they did drawings with measurements with me...then go to my house ot confirm measurement, show me where's it'll extend to, etc.... then it started.

    If they do take your project, they will certainly do it with effort.

    If they are too busy to take, you want them, they also won't take.

    That's my experience.
