Checking on the progress...
The tiling at both bathrooms & Kitchen wall are complete, Kitchen floor tiling is in progress
Here's our tile selection for Living (Lighter grey) & Foyer+Dining+Kitchen (Darker grey).
Love the bits of glitter in the grey though may not be able to see it clearly.
We also make some purchases at Hoe Kee, it may not be the cheapest store but we were impress by the Salesman
His willingness to explain on products and also recommend products with reference to our requirements...
The Blanco Sink + Mixer Tap @ S$659, the bathroom basin & taps at about S$350.
The shelves are about $30+ each which I find them quite expensive
We saw another brand of granite sink at Jalan Besar going at S$300+ but the uncle told us it's from India .
Since the sink will be with us for a long, long time... we decided to pay more for a Blanco sink and I simply love the colour
We are in the process of approving the carpentary drawings and it's a real headache to try to fit things into their place
We are meeting with our ID tomorrow to finalized the drawings and select the laminates...
Will keep the photos coming soon...
I am also eyeing on the same kind of blanco sink.

Still more on kitchen.
Renotalk favourite brand blanco. Its nice and hard to resist. I am trying to achieve a black on black inspired by my apple iphone color scheme. My matt black tap from guangzhou.
Brandt's hood and induction hobs.
Once again credit to my ID for not charging me extra to 'upgrade' my amps in order to use these induction hobs. According to brandt sales person from harvey norman this model is the bestseller because its hdb friendly, wide for its size compared to other 2 hobs induction.
I am looking at same Blanco silgranit sink for my place too.
Where did you buy it from and how much did u pay for it? Do you mind sharing it?
Your taste and my taste for kitchen seems to similar. I am also doing black and white kitchen.
I like your kitchen tiles. It is beautiful.

Day 1:
Hacking started.
My guest bathroom is 70 % hacked. Kitchen - 80 %, master bedroom 70%. Masterbathroom they haven't started yet.
Photo uploading starts from today. I am going to put some before hacking photos and photos I took today.
Very excited.
I was reading some t-blog today and realised I am one of the few who has been lucky. Till now we haven't had any issue with our reno - from selection of ID to selection of material. Start date we had to postpone for week because we couldn't find temp place. But now things are sailing smoothly.
-
Hi, which ID did you choose? Will be fun! For how long will be u staying at your temp lodging?
U will be going to JB to get lights? Which shops? Hub worried abt security in JB and not keen to go..
Our Contractor/ID is One stop builders http://www.facebook.com/OneStopBuilders
Our reno work is suppose to finish in 5-6 weeks time so we will stay till than. I am hoping to move to my place by end of June.
I haven't decided on shopping JB. My Aunt lives in JB so she will be the one who is going to help with JB shopping. I have yet to decide on that part. And I do't know which shops I will be going to. I will let u know once I decide on it.
I got my Hub from Ho Kee Genting road. Do ppl go to JB to buy Hub and Hood?

I just ordered my blanco pleon 9 sink with pull out tap at $799.. It's an impulse buy before I read the review from renotalk, keep my finger cross, hope it really worth the price..
Any comment I should mount it under or on top?
Hi how is ur Blanco Pleon 9. I am thinking of buying same sink but I am bit worried about chipping and cracking problem I read in some review. Have you encounter any such problem?

Hi I am back.
Finally my reno is starting from tomorrow.
this weekend had been hectic one for us. We found temporary place to move (after searching for more than a month) and we move in this weekend. Sunday was final tile selection day plus we also bought Hob, hood and oven.
I didn't get much chance to do research on above items but I just went with my gut feeling and I liked the product. BTW I bought Techno Hob, Hood and Oven for 1330 $ from Ho Kee. I checked the price (after buying) with courts online and other websites, it seems reasonable.
I also kind of put deposit for Blanco Silgranit Kitchen Sink. I know the brand is good but I am not sure whether to buy granite sink or not. Guys Can you give me some idea?
So from tomorrow hacking going to start. I am very excited about it.
I will start uploading pictures from tomorrow onward and I am sure I am going to be regular in this forum from now on.

Next step - start looking for tiles and accessories.

Anyone keen to share the shipping with me?
I am ordering 2 wash basin and accessories but it can't fill 1 cubic meter.
I just checked with Amcon , charges will be like
Shipping cost - 110 $ per 1 cubic meter
Transaction fee - 35 $
GST - 7%
Each item buying - 10 $
Shipping time - 8-10 days
Delivery - free for first address. Second address - 80 $
Anybody interested???
-
Hi basins are not light stuff so I will suggest using Amcon. However 2 basins will not fill up the entire 1 cubic metre which is the minimum you will be charged by Amcon. So shop harder @ TB to fill up
Thanks for your suggestion.
I am looking at some other stuff as well. Lets see if it will fill up 1 cubic metre.
By the way is the above seller are good seller?

I have short listed 4 ID/Contractor
- H*** (Impress 21) - quotation reasonable but he doesn't give any idea. whatever I said he says yes. NO feed back from him
- R*** (IR design) Quotation reasonable (within my budget). I didn't feel the click with him
- S*** (One stop builder) - Quotation reasonable, he is friend of my friend. Very forthcoming and takes initiative.
- S*** ( Innerview) - not prompt in giving quotation. After sending sms and calling him then finally got quotation. I don't know whether to trust him or not. Plus point is he has lots of idea.
Now is decision time for and I am very confused. Price wise all the quite competitive.
I hope I will be able to make decision on my ID/Contractor by this weekend and start my shopping from next week onwards.
Wish me luck
