I think best to take out the existing piping. Coz u wont know the condition of the piping until issues starts coming up. My current place (staying wif parents), piping was used for 8-10 yrs and recently change new aircon but using existing piping, think has sweating. I guess piping stuff not meant to use beyond 10 yrs. Nowadays maybe less. To redo u have to hack out all the concealed parts. May have to pay extra for that. Maybe can bargain wif the contractor to include this service. Definitely need to change the piping. Plastic casing can still consider keep. Jus my opinion. Cheers.

Original plan was to do feature wall for living room and MBR as well. End up over budget and we dun really need. So we cut! Living room feature is 1k and MBR is about 500. I find the amt of carpentry quite minimum oredi. Any lesser and we would be better off getting a contractor. Hahaha. I guess then things we do are quite different. Per unit price for the items should not be too much off. If my quote really so cheap then I recommend my ID here. Haha. I need to see if I have the flr planning done by ID. Coz I dun think I have the so call latest one. Haha.

Last count was about 28k. Have to top up some money as I selected more expensive homo tiles for rooms and outside. Basically nothing much. Kitchen cabinet, 2 wardrobe, whole house grilles, study glass sliding door, 1 tv console, painting, MBR toilet shower screen, MBR open shelving and the stupid HSS feature wall. Whole 12 ft of it.

Yah. MBR if single split no piping will be seen. The trunking on top runs to the study and there is also another which runs to BR2. No choice. HDB design the aircon ledge near toilet and MBR. So not likely can hide. Unless all rooms do casement one. I also prefer not to have too much trunking concealed. If leak water all must tear out. Other way is to do full false ceiling. Then trunking come out from toilet and run along passage. MBR will hide some as will be covered by full height wardrobe one side. The other run on top of skirting to BR2, so not eye level. So end up dun care liao. Outside ppl see nice can liao. Haha. All piping hide in rooms.

I think only time they might need to shut down the water is when they change the plastic piping to s/s ones. Coz i only doing 3 rooms and if they run from MBR the trunking cant be seen from the hall/dining area. The piping cuts accross the passageway using the beam. Next time i show u photo. Haha. When i was booking that day thought left 1 corner unit. But when i went in to book that unit gone liao. I thot my time was early enough liao. End up have to take the corridor one. Anyway, no pt complaining now. Haha. !!
