Why not tell us how 'old' are you? 60-70 range?

If I were u, I will nego first. Then no choice, then terminate. But be careful, some id once they know u want to terminate, will give u shody works and a lot of hidden add on costing.
-
hi kambing soup, i like to eat u though lol....
ok, jokes aside. in my opinion, i would want a storeroom. family planning, child's cot, luggages, my army items etc.. all throw into storeroom..
what u need to is, plan ahead, what items u will need. if u are confident to hide those items, then yes, u can do away without a storeroom
-
you have to apply from them. but normally they have a schedule for that particular block. so check on ur timetable for ur reno
-
yes, please skip. u also dont want your husband relationship with their friend turn sour, should anything happens to ur home?
-
bedroom laying is correct. however, living room, it really depends on how u want the lines to make which area more striking. laying the lines that flow across the balcony will emphasize more on the big area in front of study
-
can.. pm u contact. can ask for quote..
-
actually u can ask ur previous renovation company or id to help u do. im sure they provide this type of after sales service.
-
u need:
1. architect
2. builder
3. designer
4. Engineer
u can source the 4 people youself, but u can also look for a builder, as most builders can use their in house architect, engineer etc

hi reaagen,
to answer your question, i need to know how u define expensive, or rather, how ur id define it. if he quote $10 psf, its definitely expensive lol.... so best is to know the psf costing first. by reading your post, i assume yours is an old resale flat? how does ur id check for hollow tiles?
2ndly, cement screeding also depends on the degree of hacking.. if they hack until really koyak, then cement screeding is a must. cos it is to smoothen the wall before plaster can be apply. plaster can't really be applied onto rough surface.

if you are not urgent to do reno, just shop and ask quote around. but do feel comfortable. if u want, i can also intro you..
-
i would say, some things like demolish walls and floor tiles works are expensive
-
The autocad drawing is the 'dry laying' process. This is important only if u are having tiles that has big grains/waves. So that the grains/waves will sort of match to the surrounding tiles. However if u are buying faint/uniform grains marble, dont really need to do dry laying cos it will cost money too.

hi ringochong,
actually feng shui is an art where to use everyday items and the arrangement of things in ur house to get the best positive energy and luck etc. to me (or my fengshui master), there is no need to specifically go and buy those toads or hulu or other artifacts. cos the fengshui master says, they uses arrangement and colour and everyday items to bring out positive energy. example are like, instead, of the wealth pot, they will ask u to buy a piggy bank and put at that specific spot etc.
of cos there are some that will ask u to buy stuff like the toad, some crystals, but as long as one is comfortable, why not?

Normally, u go to marble factory to choose marble. Then u select a tiler for u to install. If u ask the factory to supply tiler to install, its gonna cost more than u go outside source
-
normally it goes like this:
lay wiring first... the light points will have wire dangling down
lay L box/false ceiling.
electrician will open the holes.
best is u brought along the actual lights so that the electrician can do its own measurement

Hi TS, may I know what house are u staying in? 44ft of table top?? overall, its deemed expensive to me though...
-
rough calculation is a bit expensive imo..... but if u click with the contractor its alright
-
so sorry, but there is nothing you can do about it. because your floor tiles had already been laid..
u can demand compensation from your id due to his/her mistake in using inexperience tilers or doing your house without due diligence, but i doubt your id will give you compensation.
only 1 thing can rectify is to rehack everything and do again. but pls engage a good contractor
-
freaking expensive...

then its time to tok your ID by running railway type of tracks light + concealment of trunking all over the living room. make your ID bleed
no la, just joking. ur ID know u dont need that many track lights in living room. anyway, its track light. u just fix the light bulbs on the track. so basically they only install the tracks. i believe u can do some adjustment with your ID. if really cannot negotiate, then do the railway tracklight, same as the MRT+LRT map of singapore lor.

TS, it is possible to do it with minimal disruption.. but, i can tell u, not many people will want to do. reason is, its a small job with lots of loose ends. secondly, u are going to activate many groups of workers. all these worker will have a minimum daily wages. although the job is small, but they will still charge u daily wages. and finally, your house is going to be cover in a layer of dust. this is because workers will need to sand/buff the edges of the tiles and this will create a lot of dust.
if you really still want to do it, u can pm me
