Here is our first DIY for the house Before: After: Well it is not very tidy, but we like the antique effect

Our renovation is almost finished! Most of the work is done, now only left carpentry which are done in the contractor's workshop. I am excited to see the kitchen design coming true. Here is the original antique peranakan tiles that we bought to put in the kitchen.

It is solid walnut, wax finish if I am not wrong. The metal part look slim but quite solid and heavy too.

Our camper desk from Jottergoods has arrived. It looks slim and nice, with the perfect dose of cool contemporary and old school.

My pendant light for the home office area, bought it at block 71 opposite Tiong Bahru market. Now waiting for my order of the LED edison light to come in. Ordered it from Like lights

My favorite part of the flat : Well the brown border is part accident and part inspiration from Vanessa's flat. The glass supplier accidentally made the glass frame in brown to follow the existing external window frame. Then I requested the louvre window in white. So initially my contractor (the project coordinator) got shocked when the glass frame came in a mismatch tone. He actually asked the glass supplier to change the frame in white, but he has completed all the work. He feels relieved when I asked him to paint the big window frame in brown, because now the "mismatch" glass frame suddenly blend in perfectly

The one I bought is 3 thousand plus, it is queen size, but it is just plain wallbed.

The bed come in standard size from single, super single and queen. Can choose vertical and horizontal. Just check their web, google hidden wall bed singaporeIt is also come in a few color laminate. But I prefer white or walnut. So far I found 4 distributor in Singapore. One in Bukit Timah, one in Bedok South, one is Hafele, the last one is Smootree (italian made, nice n ex). The one I bought is from Bukit Timah. The bedok one is cheaper, but not as neat

Today the old terrazzo floor has been polished until shiny...... Feels like dancing on it....

Wah, I think yours is cheaper than mine. Yes, I think the wooden door helps too, mine the door is solid, original from 1948, the contractor said it is better than average new door that is made nowadays.

Today they are polishing the 60 years old terrazzo floor It is still in the process. Funny thing is they use Cif to clean up the corner!

I went to Hafele today to buy wardrobe lift and found quite a few interesting things in their showroom: This is a bifold, sliding folding pocket door..... impressive... but expensive. About $3k if I didn't heard wrong

My 60 years old parquet floor . They turn paler today.

They are installing glass sliding door for our laundry room:

I asked the contractor to put some glass on the louvre window, so when the aircon on, the cold air doesn't escape everywhere. So they come up with this: I think it is quite a good idea as I can unscrew it once a year to clean the inside part of the glass and the louvre. the color is also quite nice, dark brown against white. The painting of window frame has not finished yet.

Today the ceiling fan for the second and third bedroom are up: I think it blends pretty well, doesn't look too modern or too glossy. A bit colonial with the black color against the white ceiling
