  1. carpentry up next.... i was quite please to see uncles carpenter.... I feel that they are in general more experienced and patient... they were able to explain patiently to me how things are coming together and despite me giving very detailed 2D drawings, they still altered some of my dimensions..... erm ... due to their carpentry limitations.... apparently they disagree with some of the aesthetics.... erm.... i thought i was the designer?.... but I have reached a point where i just want the renov to be over.... its taking a toll on my time and work schedule...... so i let it slide....
  2. fridge too ixiss stainless steel sink from wasser bath:
  3. the stuff from Grafunkt and Whitewood are here: a hot and sunny day
  4. the cement became lighter as the days went by: my contractor warned that there will eventually be hairline cracks in the floor...... gotta be mentally prepared for it:
  5. cement cured and the open concept is finally ready to be furnished:
  6. all hoses lead to the yard area: the guys did a pretty good job.... very seasoned.... they tried pretty hard to accomodate my requests...
  7. the aircon guys needed to cut a hole in order to thread the cables and copper pipes through the false ceiling some hacking to punch a hole from the yard to the toilet and finally a pipe to direct the condensation water to the bathroom.... we had it hidden in a dark corner.
  8. master bedroom installation went well... all trunking conceal by the false ceiling
  9. the aircon position in the small bedroom was a complete mistake!...... disaster..... we have a huge eyesore trunking beside the aircon.....FAIL! in the end we paid an extra $150 for the workers to come back another day to move the aircon above the door.... sianz
  10. ok next comes the aircon... instead of asking Kevin to monitor, I decided to do it personally.... I want to avoid miscommunication as much as possible as. as usual.... aircon trunking and routing was a nightmare... we have designed the cabinetry to completely conceal the trunkings.... so if its not done right, the cabinetry cannot proceed! if everything proceed as plan, we will only have 80cm of visible trunking in the house.... trunking from living room and bedroom converges and routes through the kitchen to the service yard.
  11. meanwhile, another guy covers the kitchen tiles with plaster... we will be painting over it....
  12. K's guys working hard at compressing and leveling the cement mixed
  13. I requested for metal strips to partition the cement screed floor to reduce hairline cracks..... sand, cement mixed and poured
  14. woah check out your blog..... is really too fast!!.... mine had a lot of delay as we started during the CNY period.... carpentry long Q sia... marcuser77 and art00609 all kenna poisoned by pinkwhale and paloma... mr K is also very good at managing our expectations i think.... haha....
  15. nice.... we wanted all black fixtures as well!
  16. Hi art00609, haha, thanks! yeah he is a joy to work with, very responsive and accomodating...... and things can move very fast as long as its not CNY or Xmas. do u have a reno blog too?
  17. master bathroom on track! the white grout feels strange and we manage to get contractor K and his tile to put a layer of black grout on top..... it looks much better we think: but it was too late to change the white grout in the common bathroom as it has already hardened and cured.... it was impossible to replace without chipping the tiles :bangwall: ...... big mistake.... i guess its something we have to live with.
  18. all walls hacked and packed for disposal by the end of second day. super dusty... but its incredible how large the space feels right now.... wife very happy with her open concept.... :jammin: but because we removed so many walls... re routing all the available powerpoints and switches is gonna be a BIG headache.... lots to consider and coordinate..... **** sianz....
  19. hacking in progress... it was really fast... living/kitchen floor gone in one day! they removed all the timber skirting as well.... not sure if we should keep them
  20. ok managed to catch a few mistakes with the tiling.... I do not blame them..... after a while, you do get a little dizzy.... and its takes alot of patience dealing with the hexagon mosiac..... those tiny piece are a pain in the *** to cut... contractor K caught another mistake in the football mosiac tiles that i missed...... i hope we did not miss anything else ....
