  1. My contractor didn't mention anything or raise any concern but I have read before in other people's t-blog that after chemical washing, light rust will appear on metal items in your toilet or kitchen (eg. Toilet roll holder or oven). For the grouting, it will drop and contractor need to touch up? Anyway for mine, the chemical wash is done. The brown colour grout in my bedrooms seems fine. Black grout in other places like kitchen and toilet is holding on well. Pm sent for the blinds contact.
  2. Was looking around for racks for our bomb shelter. Saw many ads pasted in our bto lift. Prices are competitive. Thought of doing with yee sin (recommended by many in this forum) after our reno complete but chance upon this boltless rack promo on my Facebook feed. $180 for first set and $50 for the 2nd set. (total $230 for 2 racks) Includes delivery and installation. Size: 1200mm×450mm×1800mm 4 tier 400kg UDL per tier Full metal shelving white epoxy powder coated Yesterday 2 guys came over and assembled outside our home. Took about 30-45mins. Found out the length is too long for us to do an L-shape, so guess we have to place it side by side.
  3. Blinds or curtains.. Curtains are easier to maintain, can be wash and simply hang it back up. Plenty of different fabric or colours to choose from but somehow we feel it doesn't goes well with out theme. So we decided to do blinds for the whole house. For living room, we decided to go with the popular white PVC with black tape. Bedrooms will be in normal roller blinds. After measuring our windows, we sms 6 different curtain/blind companies for quotation. 2 were found from carousell, 2 was from Facebook, another one is a JB shop (a friend did their curtain with this shop, paid in RM) and the last was a contact from our neighbour. Carousell 1 - $1575 Carousell 2 - $1700 Shop 1- $1330 Shop 2- $1814 JB shop - $1600 Neighbour's recommend - $1190 Thought the jb quote will be cheap, but turns out their price is almost like sg price. So we went ahead with the cheapest quote. This guy came down with a bag full of samples. Different colour choices and different sizes for the PVC blind. Better material for roller blind (anti-bacterial, coating, etc) requires to top up so we just choose the basic ones. Installation once carpentry is done.
  4. Uneven tiles? My contractor didn't mention any problem, so i don't think so. So what did your contractor said that caused the uneven tiles? My bedroom tiles is laid randomly, no running pattern.
  5. Hi there, Powdercoating and chroming is not that expensive, i have done it on my bicycle and motorcycle parts before.. u can send them yourself at geylang bahru. Anyway balcony door is the frame? Or handle? Frame i didn't Powdercoat, i think the aluminium frame comes in black or white from the manufacturer, what i powdercoat is the handle and hinges only.
  6. ya, initially my contractor said chemical wash after carpentry done. No need pay more. U can try ask your id if u want do now..
  7. Nope, i requested for early chemical wash cos tmr got some furniture coming in.. my carpentry is still on going.. will take more pictures after carpentry completed.
  8. Chemical wash done today. Finally all protective cardboard removed. Home looks cleaner now and debris free..
  9. Its from 2by2 store, find them on FB, they sell industrial lightings. Bought it at $65. The fire alarm bell is 220v, so your electrician must find a power source for this and link it to the doorbell switch outside.
  10. They installed the glass swing door today. The handle and hinges were powder coated in black because original colour is probably stainless steel/chrome. Painting won't last as the paint might drop in long run so requested it to be powder-coated black to match the black aluminium frame.
  11. Hi there, good to know.. how's the progress of your house? For the MBR showerscreen, i showed Mr K this photo, so we replicate this design.. For the common toilet, i think the default is the common L-shape with 2 small sliding door. So i asked if one side can be fixed panel while the swing door on the other. But will hit the vanity cabinet. So he suggested using bifold door. Bigger entrance, so bigger people no problem in entering. Price wise, aluminium frame definitely more exp since you're paying for the material..
  12. Oh my, can u provide some photos on the painting/tiling/carpentry/etc to show the workmanship? I believe u have made almost 90% payment? Maybe u demand them redo and hold the rest of the payment till they rectify?
  13. Went down today and saw the toilet doors is up.. When discussing with Mr k regarding the common toilet shower screen, apart from using sliding door,we thought of using a glass swing door. But its not feasible as space is limited and it might hit the toilet bowl or the vanity cabinet. So Mr K suggested a fixed panel on 1 side and a full bi-fold door opening on the other. MBR toilet The aluminium frame is installed, waiting for the glass swing door and powedercoated handle.
  14. Bought from Poh Seng at Jalan Besar
  15. Wow, that is scary, did it damage your flooring, toilet bowl or other things when it dropped to the floor since the storage heater is bulky and heavy? Since its already 12 years old, why not change new one? For plumber, when u buy can ask the shop for installation, they will send their installers do for u. I just bought joven 35L for $250. Installation is around $100
  16. Hi, its done by H2O interior renovation. U can find his past works and contact on facebook.
  17. Bought from aliexpress for $119. They gave a free complimentary ST64 edison bulb i think but i used a philips cool daylight instead cos brighter to light up the wardrobe area. Few days ago saw a carousell seller bringing in this light at $115. This is the close up photo.
  18. Yup, fiona suggested pasting 14 layers of masking tape beneath to lower the sound. The fan, Bought it from phylux for $399. (Promo price, not sure what's the price now) model is helix 52". I didn't know the brand till they delivered it. If u go relite singapore website, they are selling it for $699. Wind power not so strong when i tried it at phylux showroom but i tried the amasco triniti 56" as well and the wind power is similar. So i took this instead.
  19. No L box. All lighting and fan directly mounted on ceiling. Yeah, its near the window.. but still got some ample space left
  20. Fan is 52". For the doorbell, i changed the switch as well. We can't connect it to the wire given by hdb (located at Kitchen) as it requires a power supply, so he tap the power from the DB box.
  21. After the 2 plumber left, my bedroom door was delivered. He took around 2 hours to fix them. I watched him work, he looked pretty skill and fast. I think he's from china but his english is quite fluent. He said that the hdb bedroom frame is not align, he has to trim alot and adjust the hinges to make it fit perfectly. Bedroom 2 and 3 managed to close perfectly but for MBR, there is still a little gap when door is close. After the door was fixed, he began drilling holes for the lock and magnetic door stopper. Lastly he swept up all the wood debris. Now waiting for the door to be painted.
  22. Plumber came last friday to reinstall the toilet bowl, shower mixer, storage heater. Installation were done quite fast, they will be back when carpentry is done to install the basin, kitchen sink etc. Joven 35L with frosted jar work lamp
  23. Diamond cage lamp for each bedroom Pairing it with plumen 001 bulb
