My vento fino is from Heritage at geylang. Not on display but can ask the salesperson to order for you. Priced at $858 because I chose the one which can swing left right and up down. Note that there is a cheaper model that only can go up down I think it's $688. Of course, the cheaper alternative is JB but hubby and I do not own a car and traveling there is very inconvenient for us.

Thanks for sharing and the information.

Was looking for something like this to put below the loft for ventilation, however we will go take a look and ask my ID if it suit the house overall design

On a separate note, totally unrelated to reno. I read about a nightnare incident of moving house. Its posted in the house moving section in reno talk. Sorry i dont know how to post the link, else i wld, still trying to figure out how to post photos correctly:lol:

House moving is somethg almost everyone takes for granted incl myself. I mean what could go wrong with loading and unloading stuff up a lorry and travelling frm pt A to B right?

Hi just figured out how to get the link here.

This is really a very unlucky incident.

Somehow after reading through I stand on the owner side more than LCH.

    Thanks for the tips!
No worries, my ID will be there doing full defect check.
Masking tape is a good idea, will be bringing a roll of it to do the rough gauge.

I think he means pour some water in the bathroom, make sure it all flows away to ensure the bathroom water drainage works ok.

    Yap.

To make sure the flow of water is ok, if the slope of the bathroom is not to drainage you will have poodle of water

Nice view! Is this a duplex unit with the bedroom on the upper floor? Frm the photo the kitchen cabinets look pretty new and modern looking, will you be keeping them?

Its not a duplex unit, just that the loft comes with it.

For other level which ceiling is not that high, you will need to climb to your bed on the loft.

Due to the height of our unit, we are able to walk normally to our bed on the loft (We are both not very tall ) :D:D:D

All the cabinets and etc i will be keeping as this place is just 1 year old, however we will be covering the top cabinets as its too tall

  5. Congrats on the key collection. :good:

Once gotten the keys please remember to check for defects, esp. the water test in the bathroom.

As most 3D drawings are not accurate to size, it will be great you can just bring musking tape and paste the layout of the things in the house, you will roughly able to gauge the walking space and etc

    Hope this helps

  6. Sorry for being inactive for a while as I was busy with work.

Thus after confirming with the purchase we started to look around for ID.

We decided to go for Modern theme with lots of storage if possible.

Below are just my own personal thoughts on the IDs :

    B from Inspire
    - pricing is good
    - ideas are more of we gave to him and not much input from him
    - seems newbie

    J from 3D Innovations
    - intro from 1 of the forum person
    - easy to get along and a few ideas not that bad
    - pricing looks reasonable

    Joshua from Piuottso
    - great ideas and color recommendations
    - show great passion
    - however initial price is high
    - listen to our needs and ideas, follow by giving good idea to modify better

    W from Sky creation
    - newbie but show a lot of commitment at the start
    - towards sometime later she seem distracted and went back to malaysia for some stuff thus taken over by her boss D
    - D is experienced and give good ideas but pricing is too high and there were some hidden cost which was not listed till we ask (Eg. Haulage and etc fee)

    (Forgot Name) Rest & Relax
    - Expensive, ideas not really that great

    Foo from CustomBox
    - wanted to engage him as he did my house previously
    - however during that time he was quite busy with projects and his kids thus unable to get him

    D from Yu Jia
    - target because seen a friend house which is not bad
    - no response after meeting the ID, reply only after we contact the boss
    - show no interest thus we decide not to engage any further

In the end we decide to take a leap of faith and choose Joshua from Piuottso (There was not much review about the company and only 1 complain which the boss replied)
Reason being he is very approachable, great ideas and most important the passion he show for interior designing.

Below are a few pictures of the house and view from balcony.

  7. Recently my girlfriend is looking to purchase a 1 bedder condo, a place not too big as its only for both of us. Most importantly a place not too big to clean :P :P :P

We view various showroom and resale but nothing really catch our eyes till we view this unit.

The view was great from both the room and balcony, the ceiling was high at about 4.8m tall, the place is near the MRT (5 mins walk) :good: :good: :good:

Its the first house that both of us agree upon (Usually 1 of us will dislike something on the other party shortlisted house )

We try to lowball the owner but sad to say, we failed at it ( :D :D :D ), however the price we purchased was still attractive :sport-smiley-004: :sport-smiley-004: :sport-smiley-004:

This is the floorplan of the unit ^^

  8. Was looking through here after last posted few years in here.

Feel that it will be good to consolidate those IDs / Contractors we used before to benefit everyone.

Lets keep it a format like this :

ID / Contractor : Company (Name)

    Link of Reno Blog :

    Remarks :

For those without link of reno blog, I will not include in the list as it may be a case of ID / Contractor recommending themself.

  9. Hi Songz,

I see your kitchen sliding door is laminate? Any particular reason why didn't you choose glass?

Does it have top and bottom tracks?

    Cheers

    Think only top tracks.

Reason I did not choose glass is due to :

    1. Glass will reflect when play MJ in living room :P

    2. Cheaper

    3. More uniform look with the overall Living room.

  10. Firstly sorry for the late reply due to a crash to my CPU and busy with work recently.

I will not be posting any pictures as I realized the pictures posted previously are similar to what I am having now.

If there is any particular part which you need, feel free to let me know and I will proceed to take the picture.

Any item which you required or information, let me know too.

  11. Very well done renovation !

    Thank you.

Credits got to go to my ID

    Hi,

Good idea. But won't it get blown away in strong winds? are you planning to something to stick on?

I just use a small piece of normal double side tape to stick it in the middle and so far its fine.

    Congrats, Songz! :)

    Thank you

Songz ur so thoughtful putting that on top of the air con. My Neighbour complain dripping water too, every air con also will drip water when it condenses and weather outside is hot. We called service man to service and change to new set before we shift...

    Hi Songz,

congrat on your new house and nice deco! How much does does your renovation cost? I'm also getting a re-sale 3 rooms flat and already started to look for ID/contractor so need some advice from you.

Im torn between tile flooring and vinyl flooring as cost is one of my consideration. Is not cheap to hack the whole house flooring! Would like to know why do u chose vinyl flooring as some ID recommend not to use vinyl as they are not sure whether is 100% water proof.

I like your dinning table and saw the demo video from TB, im wondering whether are the extended wooden pieces flimsy?

    Thanks in advance!

It will sure to be cheaper if you are not hacking the flooring and only doing overlay.

Vinyl is rubber wood and its quite safe when it comes to water (Based on my home and friend house who uses it so far), however we did not try pouring a lot of water on it and leaving it of cause. So far I mop 3 times a week and its still fine.

The extra wood are just store in storeroom currently, only taken out when needed and no problem with it so far. Just that you need some place to store it.
