  1. I tried contacting the ministry of door, the girl rachael gave me a quote for the bi-fold door and after that no more news from her, maybe mine only small deal so she don't bother. In the end my father helped me to install a pvc folding door which fits perfectly, he said the door only cost slightly over $100, he installed for me free. Lucky never install the bi-fold door, otherwise end up it's too wide when folded in, very ugly.
  2. Hmm, now that you mention, the dimensions does seem very odd, I myself is already 181 cm tall haha, will measure again.
  3. Well aesthetics is secondary to me, most important is easy to use, durable and can separate the kitchen from my living room because I have aircon in living room, I want to watch tv and enjoy the cool air Of course try not to be too expensive, those glass doors are really pricy, seems to be at least $1000 or more.
  4. Thanks, what kind of pricing should I expect? $200? $300? $400? By the way this ministry of door seems to have some very bad reviews here...
  5. Yep, I used a measuring tape to measure from top to bottom, left to right.
  6. Hello all. I am looking to install a door for my kitchen entrance. The entrance is about 92cm tall and 36 cm wide. I did some research and seems like either PD Door or Bi-fold Door is suitable, any better option? And also what kind of pricing should I expect?
  7. Been living there for a while now, so far haven't detect the smell, I think maybe it is an old house and left vacant for a while hence there is the stench, so after cleaning, all seems okay now.
  8. Yep, MUP done. Yesterday I moved in, so far never detect that smell, maybe the hot water worked, hope it doesn't come back, dining table for sure I'm going to put **** room lol, imagine having dinner and that smell comes lol.
  9. Just to update my issue. Yesterday one HDB officer in my estate called me to arrange an inspection today, I was busy so I sent my wife there. My wife said he came and took a look around but said he did not smell anything, he then advised my wife to keep the windows open and he left, wow, like that also can, but I guess he can't do anything if he didn't smell that foul stench... Anyway I called my dad (he is renovating my house), he told me the smell comes from the drainage in the kitchen, he said the piping are all linked, even the feces pipe is linked there, furthermore the building is very old (1967) so I guess that's why there is feces smell... He said later on will flush the drainage with hot water and it should kill off the stench, I certainly hope that will work, will update later once it's all done. He also said for this kind of issue, no point looking for HDB, they can't do anything, unless it's crack in the ceiling or something like that.
  10. Sounds scary right, totally didn't notice it when I first visited the flat and during inspection, only became aware when I was doing painting, there's this feces smell in the kitchen, it comes and goes, last for about 5-10 minutes and then disperse, maybe a while later it comes back again, I suspect when people on top do their "business", the smell will come, problem is I can't pinpoint where it came from but definitely in the kitchen. I have informed my HDB branch, I hope they will respond soon, but in the meantime just wondering if anyone have experience something like this. I tried air sprays but the smell can be quite overpowering. There's also this brown patch on the kitchen wall separating the toilet and kitchen, I tried covering with emulsion paint but later it will appear again, what is it? Feces?!? The unit is about 47 years old, mine is at the 3rd level, basically all the feces above will come down, lol.
  11. Hey ace, thanks for the info, I'll go to their showroom and take a look then.
  12. Hi all, I wish to buy system 2 Daikin aircon for my 2-room resale flat, just wondering which dealer is good. How about Passion Air? They are dealer for Daikin aircon, are they good in terms of workmanship? Personally I think that brand is secondary, installation is the most important step, because if never install properly, no matter how good the aircon also useless. I choose Daikin because I like the brand and they have their own servicing team, who else knows their aircon best. Please share if you know which dealer is good, thanks.
  13. Hi, mine is Resale HDB 2S (46SQM), the Balcony is actually part of the Kitchen, not sure why in floor plan put as Balcony... Anyway the quote 1 comes with "HDB permit submission FOC", quote 2 don't have... hidden cost! Thanks, learn something new. By the way I should get key in mid June if everything goes smoothly. Or possible when I get key I call you and you come my house look? My floor plan:
