  1. Okay, I'll go find out more. Thanks Songz and PTopaz for the heads up!

Some of them have little dots of rust at the sink edges.

You can consider to get those SS polish or etc, think it will help and protect it to prevent rust from forming.

    Hope this help

  2. oh man.. hope mine no issues.. furthermore, i did under mount..

Hey bro, just a heads up for u... there are some bros and sis here who have bought Selena sink that encountered rust issues... u might want to take note...

  3. haha.. no need one shot 500 bucks.. as long as your monthly spending (including non-online transactions) is more than 500..

but only the online transactions get the 6% rebates.. :D

Chances of more than 500 are slim now, especially after the first round of purchase.

Even if one is shopping frequently on Amazon, max hitting SGD300 will stop to avoid GST.

So planning is important when buying.

  4. Hi Puggy, yes thats right. at first they told me need 2 weeks... but after payment they ship out in 2~3 days..

Hi Raydon, you got your sink from Sellena taobao? Did the seller take very long to ship out?

Hi Yongshiz, i dont have the actual photo.. but those on the manual should help..

need to drill two holes with screws for this to hook up..

    2djuqo9.jpg

May I know how u install thebasin mirror? Need any drilling into the wall?
Coz we re considering the same mirror for our common bathroom.

hi hellonub, yeap.. thats the style we hope to achieve..

    thanks for the compliment!

Love the white cabinets with the silver handles! Country style?

hi guojiawen, i will go take a closer look over the weekend and share with you.. :)

Please share how your contractor covered up the exposed lines! Really want to find out.. :)

thanks PTopaz! i guess he is quite good.. everytime there is an issue, he will settle it no questions asked.. (but then again, me and mrs are very easy going...so we didn't 'complain' much..).. haha..

like for this case.. i have no intention to voice it out, since its a norm. but to my surprise the lines were covered up few days after.. not all.. but at least those that are not covered..

lets hope the standard can maintain till the work finish... hahaha..

I think u have a very very good contractor. .. 98.69% (hehe)of the other contractors will tell u that "it's like that one" for the black joint Lines... which is in a way true... at least ur contractor have the pride and bothered to do something for u... kudos to him!

  5. No prob! i believe some can even do it at no additional cost.. you can try that.. hahaha

hey Raydon, thanks for the info...i will remember the term top hung sliding tracks... i will press my contractor give that to me at a lower price.. :P

Paul is very helpful.. everything will be fine.. jus that things might take some time to reach..

Awesome thanks for sharing! Im using oops and hope things go smoothly!

anyway, a little update regarding the black lines issue between the laminates.

it looks like my contractor has managed to cover up those line that are exposed..

dont know what they used.. paint or silicon maybe?

there is also a minor flaw for the kitchen door i used..

due to its light weight.. the door will close by itself when the wind blow from my service yard..

mentioned this to my contractor and he said this is why he recommended us to use glass door instead...

however, having said that, he will ask his workers to think of a way to prevent it from closing by itself..

lets see what they can come up with.. hope its not something too ugly..

  6. some other random stuffs...

my sink.. hmm.. looks so small after the table top installed..

at first was worried that there isn't enough working space between the sink and the hob...

we over estimate and now really regret not getting the bigger sellena sink..

looks like we will have issue cleaning bigger size cooking utensils :(

  8. Hi, ICI Dulux 21741

May I know what is the colour code for the light blue u choose (wall paint) for living room?

Hi JohnB, thanks. maybe u can do it too.. but with those top hung sliding tracks.. to make it more complete. :)

How nice! I especially like the handles.

  9. Ah... Understood.. Thanks for the explanation!

Guess ABS are meant mainly for doors only. White laminates tends to amplify the dark joint line and this is the norm.

Mine are with coloured PVC have no such issues.

  10. Appreciate that you still help me to check at this hour. Thanks!

All my wardrobe, kitchen and shoe cabinets doors are ok.. They come with ABS trimming. But my kitchen door and the frame does not. Also some parts of the carpentry that is exposed (like my dish rack area). The lines are quite visible. Does give this cheapo feeling. just wonder is this a norm because i used white laminates or they should all come with ABS trimming?

As you mentioned, it is the joint of 2 laminates that will have this black line.

I had check mine, mine are using internal coloured PC with ABS trimming on all doors.

    No black lines visible.

  11. another question -

i noticed that there is this black portion between the edges of two laminates.

i understand that it is due to the laminates used (unless we use solid core which is more expensive)

however, i believe using ABS finish can remove this black portion?

my internal laminates are not done up with ABS finish but i guess that's alright cause doors are close most of the time.

but for my kitchen door, i thought it should be done with ABS finish as it is quite visible..

    any thoughts?

  12. if the amount is more than 500... using OCBC frank card has an even better rate.. cause of the 6% rebates...

eNETS rate is so much better then cc. Just bought some stuffs and my exchange rates are 4.9 and 5

  13. my contractor quoted me $300+ per wardrobe for the top hung tracks.. i believe it should not cost so much..

maybe he has not done this before.. so he got no lobang for these kind of tracks..

Really? Cool!! Good to know that it can be done... not sure how much additional are we talking abt....additional $30- $40 pfr?

maybe instead of screw, can use something that is more 'removable'

Regarding to your MBR wardrobe access to aircon ledge,

I see, was thinking what can I do to access that area easier... maybe a quick release ledge or sth.

ah.. thats good to know.. for the exterior at least...

will take note of the maintenance part for the interior.. thanks!

I think the main concern will be the interior of the carpentry that will turn yellowish and not should much of the exterior laminate.

Exterior laminate are expose to moving air hence not such a big issue.

My previous carpentry are all having white PVC interior and seems like a magnet for mould growth.

You need constant airing and cleaning, else put those "thirsty hippo" may help to keep dry.

  14. I don't have the catalogue with me.. But i know is dulux paint for this blue. Will ask my contractor and let you know...

May I know what is the colour code for the light blue u choose (wall paint) for living room?

  15. Yeap, you are right. The door really makes a difference.

It can be done, i have seen my neighbours wardrobe and they are done like that. Wanted to show you the photos but it's not good to steal other's photo. Haha

Sadly, my contractor said it will be additional cost, so we decide to save the $$

The wardrobe will look perfect if the door flushes all the way to the top, bottom, left and right, just like how Ikea pax wardrobe are...

Not sure if it's something that carpenter can achieve ...

  16. Hi PTopaz,

they nail/paste the frame on top of the normal flat door. the middle part is laminate while the frame is paint.

disadvantage to this is that there is a chance the while paint will turn yellow. also, need to clean it frequently if not it will turn 'sticky'

there is another method using laminate but i think its more expensive to do it due to wastage.

a more detailed write up here... thanks to rubypumps..

decide to take the risk and hope for the best because of budget.. haha...

its about 125psf.. it is also one of the reason i took this contractor.. cheapest among the quotes i got...

actually i like the Kompacplus.. esp the wood colour.. i think will look really well on these cabinets..

but i didnt know how resistant it is to scratches and heat.. so i took iquartz instead..

i guess should be no issue for toilet top... hahaha..

Hey... what method did u employed to get the "frame" design at the perimeter of ur cabinet doors? How much more costlier is it compared to normal laminated cabinets?
    Thanx

    Kompacplus. . Goodssssss :)

hmm.. now that u remind me.. i actually took note of this before my renovation..

but i forgot about this eventually.. now it looks like i may not have enough width to open the door fully..

    hahahaha.. thats a problem..

Hey how big a space did u leave for your fridge since yours is beside a wall? My fridge measure 70cm but becos of the handle... When it opens I think it extended to 80 cm at least. I could not really measure that... Contractor is leaving a 85cm space... I am wondering if it will be too small

initially, we wanted white solid surface for our vanity top.. but thought it will look too blend (everything and everywhere white!!)..

so we told our contractor then we may want a change of colour... any suggestions? haha

ok... i shall stop spamming photos.. have a nice long weekend everyone!
