Hi Vacis, I am not sure too. Me also wish to start reno immediately. I even wish to stay there to celebrate our first anniversary with my hubby. Sigh!

Hi, Is block 26B still having those barricades? Was wondering whether i sld drop by one day to have a look. Seems like you guys have been going to the showflat there often. I just got my first draft from my ID. Still got alot to amend. Agreed with h4happy's comment on the searching of ID/contractors.
-
Anybody got any news for Blk 26B? So far which blocks have collected their keys? Anyway, congrats to those who have already collected their keys. Really happy for you. Well at least only those contractors have touted us when we went there. Luckily no wild dogs! Haha...i rem i went to a site before, long time ago..got alot of wild dogs. Scary man!

Thanks for your info, Binzz. So the barricades are still there. Mine is considered mid floor..so if I go there, I dun think I wld dare to take the lift. Have to climb up then..hehe. Anyway, let's see for a few more days. Maybe the barricades will remove after today's handover.
-
Hi Binzz, Are the barricades remove for the whole stretch of blks 26A to 26D? My block is 26B. I am wondering whether we can go into my unit to take a look, so that my ID can quickly come out with the design. If they are handling over 26D today, will it be the same for blk 26B?

It is only for my 3 bedrooms.

Oh my ID is based on what we wanted to quote us. I dun believe in basic package. Cos after that, they will add this and tt and you may end up paying more. Better to tell them your idea and ask them to give you a quote. Anyway, my laminated flooring is $1800 under the Dynamic range from Kronotex. Just dunno this range is it good enuf.

Laminated Flooring
dorcas replied to alister's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
Hi, Any review on Kronotex's Dynamic range? Due to the thickness, some ppl said it won't last. I am thinking is it tt bad? I wanted to get laminated flooring for my bedrooms but dunno which range is best. Can someone advise me, pls? Any brand? -
Hi OnePostWonder, You sure it's only $750 for parquet for your 3 bedrooms??? I got to pay $1800 for laminated flooring under dynamic range (Kronotex Brand). Can you check what brand and range of your parquet that they quoted you? Btw, any one familiar with laminated flooring? There are so many range. My ID said it won't last for those lower range. I am quite headache about this. If go for higher range, I may hv to top up another $1000 for it. Sigh...

Hi all, If it's very crowded at the Philips Carnival sale, then I may as well buy all my electrical items from those neighbourhood electrical shops. Cheap too! I'll be staying at blk 26B. Hope I can do my reno on time before the CNY. I've went up to level 6 showunit to see too. It isn't impressive and the cost is quite high too. I won't be buying those electrical items first. Just trying to tabulate my purchased list and it's long! Now my status is to wait for my ID to get back to me on their schedule and go for selection of tiles. After we picked the design of the tiles, then we got better idea on how to do our interior furnishings. PM me if you are interested in my ID.

I am thinking of buying a Philips iron. Wondering whether will it be cheaper at the carnival sale.

That's one of the way. But I dun like the idea of that cos of the look. I rather get those stand which can fold up and store in the bomb shelter. My washer and dryer are Ariston brand. As for pricing, I am not too sure cos those were bought by my hubby's sister. You can find this brand at Meyer. Think they selling package price at $900+ for both indesit washer and dryer. And don't ask me the quality of it cos I haven't use. haha... It was store at our grandma's place now.
-
I heard of that too. But we spoke to one salesguy from AllBest. He seems very profession and told us alot abt aircon. But of cos he's not the one fixing it into your house. I actually just follow what my hubby decides. As long as all my bedrooms and living room got aircon, can liao.
-
I've already got a washer and dryer and most probably got to stack them up. So the hanger got to remove for my case too. Unless I place the dryer at another corner..but may have walk space problem. Anyway, I intend to use my dryer, so I do not need those hangers. But I will buy those portable hangers stand like from Ikea to hang a few handwashed clothes.

Which rinnai models of hob and hood are you eyeing on? Kong Tai at Jurong West quoted me with 10% off the bundle price. Thanks for your advise in the sink. I din know got to take note on all these. Any pic on the teka sink and tap? And what's the price? I only saw Franke brands and din really source for others. Maybe I should look ard.
-
I got the quotes from All Best. This shop can be found at IMM. Hopefully it's still ard that price cos some quoted me about $2,600.

It is indeed fun on doing research for our new home. After we have signed with our ID (De Workz), we are finally relieved. Now waiting for them to come out with a schedule and make appt to select our tiles. So that they can based on the design of the tiles to start their designing of our lovenest. Am also looking around on hob and hood and also on sinks and mixer. Any good recommendation? As for Aircon, for those who are thinking of system 4, you may consider toshiba brand (Inverter). It costs $3,400 from All Best. For non-inverter system 4, i think only got Daikin about $2,300-$2,400. Not sure whether they got increase on their pricing. We are still thinking whether to get inverter or non-inverter.

my reno budget is 25k + all those furnitures and electrical products...at least need 40k. Also quite scary. No choice got to build our home sweet home..have to spend.

To me, WIW would be good to be done in an enclosed space esp for open wardrobes. If you use those pole systems in your MBR, I think it is a mess bcos you will have different colours of clothings hanging and it's not as nice as those open wardrobes advertisement. If you really want to do wardrobe in your MBR, then live with a 7ft length wardrobe.
-
Hi moonbell, I would agree with the IDs that it is really impossible to do a WIW in our small little MBR. The most is a one stretch wardrobe. Mine is a L-shape wardrobe in BR 2. We just do what is comfortable for us now. Of cos that area can really fetch a very good price. But also that area is a very good location. I scare 5 yrs later, i dun wish to leave. Also if your house looks good, I think it will also be able to fetch a good price. I believe many ppl are planning to sell it off after 5 yrs time. Buyer will also factor that in too. Just like hacking BR 2, some buyers may like that concept too cos it's really small. You never know.
-
Someone must move in first. If all waiting for one another to move in, then all our hair will turn white. As for combining BR 2 and MBR and might cause a problem in selling off your unit after 5 yrs time, we did think of this too. For such a unit, there will be 2 kinds of buyer. Either he/she love your layout + furnishings and will not do much reno or will spend a lot redoing your whole house. I am not really worry about that cos building back a wall ain't v exp. Now what is best is stay at your own comfort. Since you already got such a good location, go all out.
-
You can get your furniture after you got your keys or even in the midst of reno. If you are not in a hurry to shift in, of cos you can take your time to do window shopping. If you wish to shift in soon after you got your keys, I would advise you to start looking for IDs. Once you have selected your ID, they can start doing their preparation like drafting out the 3D images, planning your storage space, etc. I think all these wld take at least 2-3 wks and reno about 6 wks. So if you start searching after you got your keys, it will drag further. It's your choice.
-
If you don't convert your bedroom 2, i guess your wardrobe in MBR will only b 7ft at the side. Unless you use it for yourself, then is ok. But my hubby and I got alot of clothings and stuff. Better to plan for future storage too.
