    https://www.polymersolutions.com/blog/why-does-stainless-steel-rust/

Our tap water has chlorine added which is a corrosive element. Also, there's rectification works done to my kitchen cabinets, so there may be specks from screws when contractor unscrews or tightens, not sure if those hv impacted my sink as well. But since I removed the spots, I haven't noticed any new ones appearing.

Good to hear that once rust is removed, they dont come back easily. Thought Kraus would have used a better quality stainless steel considering the way they market their product as better than the average with G16 thickness and sound proofing base. Maybe good quality stuff no longer exist today as the sink I am using for the past 20 years never had rust spotted and it only cost me <$200.

I only used my sink for 1mth+, so I still need to use longer period to observe further before I can give a more detailed review. However, jts based on my experience so far. Agree that the base is kind of flat even with the gradients & some food particles may get "stranded" but for me, I'm used to it as my previous sink did not have gradients, so I just sweeped them towards the waste bin. Anyway, it's minimum to us as we're used to scrape off any food particles left on plates/bowls except for stubborn ones that stick on.

As for rust, I do notice ~3 tiny dots but I'm not sure if rust or some kind of blemishes. At 1st, I poured some baking soda on them & leave it on for few hours, got rid of 2 except a stubborn 1 but got rid with baking soda plus vinegar! My kids went "wah" when they saw the "chemical" reaction of baking soda & vinegar, so I take it education time for the kids, haha... Now, so far, didn't notice anymore spot.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Surprise to hear that the stainless stain Kraus use can get rusty. What about scratches? Are you using it with the tray provided?

  3. Hi everyone.

Can anyone share their experience with Kraus sink? I am interested in getting the KHU100-32 but found poor reviews on amazon. Anyone have problem with draining water as the base is too flat and also rust at spot which accumulate water?

The manual has explanation for multiple mode which I read when first used it, but now I only briefly remembered it does something like ensure the portion of the water that first being output reaches the required temperature first providing an "instant" effect. The tank has more than 1 heater rod in it so i suppose they could control different areas accordingly.

The heater(storage tank side) have both the power and control cable wired to it. The digital panel only have 1 control cable wired to it. If you have engineering background, a simple way to visualize the connection is to Just think of this as a relay that uses DC to switch AC at the heater.

"Please excuse the sudden increase in text font. There is no specific intent. It occurs when I cut and paste pre typed text on my mobile and don't have the function to change font size here.

Got it. One control cable from heater to control panel. Power cable to heater tank. Thanks for sharing.

    Very good.

Just I set up 1 timer in the morning and 1 timer in the evening once and I don't have to do anything else. "

i didn't notice a MAX function... Basically if you need instant hot water when totally cold use the "multiple" function.  I didn't time it, but from cold, I switched it on, turned on the taps and let the cold water run out while I took a piss, thereafter it's warm enough to bath in. 1min?

Thanks for your feedback. The multiple might be a function for more than 1 user using hot water and therefore increase output to heat up water?

From your description above, there seems to be another control cable running from the heater to the electronic switch. So in total the electronic switch has 2 cables wired to it? 1 power cable and 1 control cable?

The Hansgrohe salesperson at the Mohd Sultan showroom told me that I need at least 3 bar of water pressure. In fact, she told me that if I didn't have 3 bar water pressure, she will not sell me the rain shower as I will return to complain.

Thanks for your reply. I was told 2.5 bar is enough. Any existing user can verify? What about storage heater? Will 35L be sufficent?

  7. Hi everyone, I know this is an old thread but thought it maybe good to gather feedback from existing users.

I am intending to install either 240mm (27477000) or 300mm (27494000) hansgrohe overhead raindance shower. How many litres of joven heater should I get considering 5 mins of rainshower? Understand that the output of rainshower is approx 18L/min, so mix half hot water with cold water = 9L/min. 5 mins will need 45L?

What about water pressure? Does it require min of 2 bar to function properly? Thanks.
