  1. Thank you Coyote! I engaged Oops.sg for all TB purchases. In terms of shipping prices I think they are the best but they are very slow on response nor is there a contact number to their office so this is the down side. The only way to get them is to send them an email. However overall they ultimately get your goods shipped and pack everything very well so hope this helps!
  2. Hi guys, I've already cleared my inbox, you may PM me if you require any information Anyway last weekend Contractor J came down with his competent workers to touch up the final stuff. As mentioned previously, the tiler forgot to leave two holes in the brick wall box up when he was tiling it previously thus his worker suggested to do another box up when the TV is mounted. So anyway last week when hubby's UHD 4K 55" SMART TV arrived, when LG's worker saw our brick wall, he refused to mount the TV for us even though it was included because he said that previously he tried mounting TVs on other customer's brick walls and they all cracked at the surrounding tiles so he doesn't want to take the risk. After hearing that, hubby and I was also very worried cause we didnt want to spoil the brick wall so we told him to just put the TV stand on the console. After informing Contractor J about this, he said that he is 100% confident he will not crack any brick or grouting so he told me to let him mount our TV. He mentioned that the only reason why the bricks will crack is because the driller is not skilled enough. On Sat when he came, Contractor J personally came down specially just to do the drilling for us and also showed his workers how it is done. He's a very patient and kind contractor after I saw him teaching his workers while he was doing it. Not only did he not crack my brick walls at all, the mounting of the TV bracket's drill hole is so sharp and clean I was so so pleased! After he mounted the TV, he proceeded to take out a gold colour equipment and told us instead of boxing up the wires, he bought this gold drill equipment (couple hundreds of dollars he mentioned) just specially for us so that the brick wall will be neat without any wires pertruding out. After he started drilling the brick wall to conceal my wires, I was SO IMPRESSED. Managed to snap afew shots how he did it (you can see the metal piece on top is the brackets for the TV) Contractor J in action - I noticed throughout all the renovation, he would personally do some of the installation which is harder to do or complicated. I CALL THIS THE SUPER GOLDEN DRILL!! SO CLEAN AND NEAT! SUCH SLEEK CUT! Wide enough to put your hands through to take the wires too! So one hole on top is for the wires to go in from the TV and the other hole below is for the wires to come out and go into my TV console so that it is 100% concealed! So tidy!! TADAH! Hubby's 100% concealed wall mounted TV. No unsightly wires at all - this is one of the happiest moments of hubby's life HAHAHA!!
  3. Hello all, sorry for the lack of updates - super busy with work! Anyway will update with more photos of the kitchen soon as we are almost complete with our kitchen! Also, I just wanted to share that the Fino fan that we purchased and placed in our MBR was one of the best purchases + it saved so much space! The wind is strong and those who visited our place all tried the fan as well! For those who PM-ed me, I've replied all of you and if you didnt receive any message, please drop me a PM for any TB links/ contacts! Promise to update soon, have a great weekend y'all! (Another shot of my favourite dining light)
  4. Thanks for your compliment! The dining table is shipped via Oops and its not expensive at all. Considering its solid wood and in such a beautiful shade of colour, its approx $650 with shipping + gst , I've seen this table in SG for $1k++ and those laminate/veneer ones going for $500+ Its price-worthy in my opinion and I've got a lot of compliments for the table!
  5. Updates, updates! Renovation is 95% complete and I've only left with a little of electrical works and kitchen top to finish up. Last weekend my final shipment of Taobao loots was shipped to me and as usual, I'm completely amazed at the quality, packing and price of everything I bought. There's just way too many things I purchased from TB to the point I have a long list of excel spreadsheet where I organised my purchases! Contractor J came in with his workers to fix up all the accessories and removed the floor protection and HIS WORKERS EVEN BUILT AND FIXED UP ALL MY TAOBAO FURNITURES FOR US!! Hubby was so thankful for that! As they were removing the protection, I had a room full of furnitures from TB so they decided to open up all the boxes (at least 4 cubic metres of furnitures) and started fixing them. They were so quick to put everything up for us it was way beyond words can describe, LOL. Hubby mentioned that it was take him at least two full days to open up and fix everything but they did all up in less than an hour - AMAZING RIGHT!! There was about 6 of them and all super hands-on! They didnt even have to read the instructions on fixing the items and everything was up just looking at the holes and screws!! Here's a sneak peek - sorry for the mess and low resolution photos taken with phone... Our ventos fino fan purchased from Tampoi in Malaysia for MBR- Its super good and perfect for afternoon naps! And finally, my 'supposed' make up table and DIY-ed IKEA mirror which we sprayed to white colour. In all honestly, I had very much liked the look but I find it too small to fit all my moisturizers and facial products + cosmetics and there's still a huge gap between my bed and the make up table. I preferred my make up table to be right beside my bed so after considering for three days and getting nagged by hubby (Because he SUPER LOVE the matt black sewing machine which he took 2 days to clean, prime and spray), he finally acceded to me buying another new make up table which is 1 metre long This make up table is 60CM and I'd like to let it go to someone who would appreciate the look because such vintage sewing machines are SO HARD to find these days + it was alot of effort cleaning it up so please PM me if you'd like to take it over Hope to finish up my grills, receive my bedframe from Hommage and complete my renovation soon! Yippeee!
  6. Hello! Actually as of today I've spent close to $7k on Taobao. I didn't go furniture shopping at all except in Grafunkt and Ikea and got everything else in the house from TB. From toilet cabinets, tap, sink to tables, chairs, TV console to bricks and everything in the kitchen drawer for cooking and baking are all from TB My bedframe is custom made from Hommage and mattress is from Serta. Thankfully all the shipments have arrived, approximately 100+ parcels and I've opened everything up - the only item that was spoilt was 4 LED track light which my hubby discovered yesterday but since I ordered 37 pieces of them and some spares, it wasn't a problem for me plus the track lights were so cheap! Yes you heard right, apart from the track light, none came with problems and I think I need to go temple pray pray already hahaha. I've read so many horror experiences of people buying from TB with problems or everything came cracked/broken etc but even my fragile items were all in perfect condition upon arrival. I had already anticipated to have some broken or spoilt items but was really lucky everything went well. I mean afterall everything is already so cheap so I took the risk of buying everything in the house from TB. I would think it would be better for you to seek the opinion of contractor J in terms of your reno - do PM me if you need his contact, good luck!
  7. Hello! I went to Kompacplus from the beginning because I wanted to find out more about the product since at that point of time I have yet to confirm an ID or contractor and Charles was the one who served me so patiently with all my enquiries and concerns. Thereafter when I realised the quote was almost similar, I just decided to get Contractor J to alias with Charles
  8. Hi Fantasy, the shoe cabinet is approx 3m wide and 2.6 metres high. We wanted to maximise the space due to space constraints thus decided to have more storage spaces! Thanks for your compliments!
  9. Today's update on choosing the right kitchen table top: My choice? Kompacplus After researching for a year with regards to choosing the perfect table top, I've finally taken my pick with Kompacplus after eliminating Granite Top and Quartz Top from my list. Traditionally, Granite and Quartz top are well known established kitchen tops in the market however I was looking for a kitchen top that could fit my scandinavian theme but was equally durable, waterproof and asthetically pleasing. I personally feel that Granite and Quartz were too thick and not sleek + stylish to the eyes and I also preferred a kitchen top that was in wood grain. After searching high and low and sharing my concerns to everyone, a friend shared with me about the existance of Kompacplus kitchen top! I fell in love with it immediately the moment I saw the sample and got home to research more about it! Eventually with all the information I received from Kompacplus website and photos + testimonials from their Facebook fanpage & feedback from some friends who installed Kompacplus, I was convinced this is the perfect kitchen table top! Here's a photo of which a homeowner living in HDB from Pinnacle @Duxton did with their kitchen top from Kompacplus, isn't it simply clean, sleek and beautiful? I contacted Kompacplus and one of their saleman, Charles attended to me. He was really helpful and nice where we later met up to show me the different types of table tops and samples Kompacplus carries! He shared with me that with the increasing popularity of Kompacplus kitchen top, the company has also introduced more designs to their range from the original range that they carried. Charles also addressed all my concerns patiently like whether the kitchen top is water resistant, non-scratchable, non-breakable, durable etc with live-tests on the samples. He also shared that apart from using it as a kitchen top, Kompacplus is usually used by homeowners for their bathroom counter tops as well! Hubby and I was so pleased eventually we decided to use Kompacplus as our kitchen top as well as to use it as our wall splash, a break away from traditional glass or tiled wall backing on both sides of the kitchen. Here are all the samples they have at the moment - 35.10 and 35.20 are more of industrial style cement screed to match with those seeking industrial cement screed look 10.10 - 10.60 are wooden designs in different shades of brown 25.20 and 25.10 are more stone like black and white designs for those leaning towards minimalist look Eventually, Hubby and I chose 10.30 New York Teak for our kitchen as we love that perfect shade of brown and its contrasting with our white minimalist cabinets! Thereafter we confirmed our order with Charles, Contractor J took over to alias with Charles and Kompacplus workers in the dimensions of my kitchen and called back a couple of days later to share that being the most popular choice of Kompacplus, 10.30 New York Teak is sold out and the next shipment from Italy would be on the second week of October. Hubby and I were due to move in on the second week of October however we loved this so much we decided to wait for the new shipment to arrive (and move in first without a kitchen top) hahahaha. Oh yes, Charles mentioned that all their materials for this kitchen top is from Italy only so thumbs up more!! Till the next post on my plumbing and bathroom! Long weekend everyone!!
