  1. Hi!

I can't get you through PM. Could you kindly PM your contractor contacts??

    Thanks a lot!

  2. So coincidence?................the 9th floor unit i see is a 3 room unit at central singapore........i really want to buy it cos the owner wants to sell me at an attractive price..........but i keep hearing the MRT sound.....i even stand outside his door for half an hr to confirm if i can really take the sound anot..............in the end i give up...........
  3. Hi bbbs, congrtats to u.........despite so much difficulties.......at least u got a happy endings..... Rgds, james
  4. hi good people, I am thinking to organise badminton session during the weekend or weekdays evening to promote interaction.. . Interested parties pls reply or pm me so i can work something out.... thank you so much Rgds, james
  5. Hi Nivlek.........i agreed with wat u say...............i rememeber i go reservist last year before my reno.....i met a old campmate who also live at clementi..........he told me he do his reno using 70k..........i am very impressed and dying to visit his "hotel"............but he keeps procrastinating then finally he told me the reason........he told me though he spend 70k but his house is so hard to maintain.........then i got it.........for my new house......i want a simple, pleasant and easily organize place... Ya the kitchen is very small......like u i also have limited area to work.........when u hangs clothes after u wash....the kitchen gets smaller...........i am still ok with it cos i seldom cook.......... For my house the reno is easier........cos the store room face the kitchen so i dont need to do false wall.....i just paint it grey..........save money and good for fengshui.......... Another look at my small kitchen... For those who want to see more than pictures video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qj1katkVcw For those, who likes to read my ups and downs blogs:http://www.clementi-heights.blogspot.com
  6. Due to fengshui reason, i need to have a hole in the kitchen wall..............but i think it also allow more sunlight to go through........but the workers work very fast......before i know it the wall is done....if u observe carefully.....i never totally hack down the whole kitchen wall and left a part of it cos behind it is the power sockets....i think i need them so that part of the wall is not hacked down........ Another view after the kitchen wall is hacked down.
  7. Hi good people, Until today, though i have a blog, i still received many PM about my clementi house, my reno and especially uncle Eng Hock......i feel i need to show the pictures of my reno here to answer some queries..... ......i wanted to do that some times ago but as i just got a new job.......i need some time to settle down....so pls forgive me........anyway below is pictures of my clementi 5 room unit before reno To give some intro of my new house..........i live happily at punggol for 5 years.....then last feb, i join the mature estate balloting exercise.........so at June 2007, my clementi dream comes true.....after paying all the survey fee, admin fee, legal fee, HDB levy......i do not left much.......luckily uncle eng hock do my 5 room reno once again at only 20k.........lucky me dont need take reno loan.........to me i dont need a designer house, i just need an organise, neat and easily to maintain house.......so dont hold too high expectations as i money no enough
  8. For all my life i stay near MRT but low floor.....never feel anything cos maybe numb already.......but before i get my latest low floor unit...........i almost buy a 9th floor unit which face MRT station and its track......this time i can really hear the train sound.....i feel irritated.......i tried to bear wif it but i cant cos i can really hear it.......i heard someone says space is a good conductor of sound......the higher u stay the louder it get....... Just my 2 cents worth of view.........
  9. Halo......me just move in 4 months ago at clementi heights.........hope to make more friends in clementi ......can clementi kakis pls fall in......maybe can organise a badminton session at clementi sports hall? Rgds, James
  10. Some people fussy about living high or low floor......for me all my life i am low floor......i remember during the last mature estate balloting exercise at clementi (June 2007).......i am left 2nd floor to choose..........i remember the HDB officer say if i dont like.......theres always a next balloting.......lucky i never heed his advice.......8 months later(at february 2008).....a same level unit next block, the price up more than $100k........selling at $473k and above...........plus HDB change rule already............2nd timer when balloting for new flats will lose out when competing against first timer..... To me high low is the same......more impt is near MRT and near good school(for kids)..............i agree with what keltong said..........2nd floor got some mosquito and when ppl burn paper u kanna first.........but i am immune by these already..........Regarding that lower floors is mostly for other races....that one i think depend on area........i give u a place at orchard.........i think first floor you also fight to stay dont say second floor....... Just my 2 cents point of view
  11. At my clementi new home, I am still using my fish tank size TV which i buy when i stay at punggol 5 years ago......my wife keep asking me to buy the new LCD TV........when courts or sony send us the brochure, she will pass to me first time.............but to me the price now still not ok.........i will wait for next year or this year after olympics..............
  12. what applefreak says is very correct.........theres no right or wrong..........it depends on what your needs is... for me.........though my wife and i are working.........but i save and invest alot rather than enjoy cos i got a very poor childhood....when i am young my family is so poor that we have no money to pay electrical bill...i remember my family always quarrel over that.........and so poor that when even my neighbour lose their shoes, they will say we are ones who stole it........ my personal goal in life is not to enjoy in life.......but to be secure in life.........i want to have 2 house before i semi retire at 40 years old........so that no matter what happen, my house will always have water, power and gas and we wont be hungry ....i am striving hard on it.........dragging my wife along.....sometimes i feel i let her down........... the choice is yours and theres no right or wrong........ just my 2 cents of view...
  13. Ya very true.......this one i forgot to mention...... if u make a lot of noise and jump here jump there....i think nobody would complain u if u stay at 2nd floor.........i remember i got a friend of mine living on the 10th floor......got home after a hard day work..............he sings and dance while taking a shower happily..........after a while he heard "ding dong".......door bell ringing......his 9th floor neighbour come to his door to ask him to stop singing and jumping around or they will call police...... i remember a week after i shift into my 2nd floor clementi unit......an old woman comes to my door and wants to buy my unit........ask me to name a price..........she says she old already and cant travel up down so easily and taking a lift is troublesome...............i say cannot lah.......i just stay for a week, how to sell?... just my 2 cents view......u want stay the highest or else stay the lowest......highest for best view and lowest for accesibility..........
  14. Hi, I am low floor expert...haha, maybe not just expert but just destined for low floor flat.....when i am young i live at Ang Mo Kio(2nd floor)........then i shift to woodlands (1st floor)............then my first ballot flat with my wife is at punggol (3rd floor)............now my 2nd hdb ballot flat with my with my wife at clementi (also 2nd floor). I live low floors until i very used to it.........i love to live at low floors........no need waste time take lift.....no need to take lift with strangers........imagine taking lift with another family with cats/ dogs and sometimes even with bicycles.......sometimes i becomes lazy to take the stairs and wait for the lift with some people of my block........and the lift takes a long time to arrive and the crowd gets bigger...........then i just walk up my house thinking lucky i no need take lift with them as i got the option to take the stairs.................i admit its abit noisy but i dont like to live in a too quiet place........i like to know theres people around me but not too close to me...... Theres sometimes some funeral downstairs........but sometimes many parties like birthday or celebrations also......so make up for it...........also low floors cheaper also....... Just my 2 cents worth of view.............i think the best scenario is live the highest floor or live the lowest floor..............live the highest for the best view and the lowest for the best accessibility....live middle not here not there...........like in the army, if u want u be officer, if not be corporal/ lance corporal.......dont be seagent......become hamburger no use...........both side also no good........ Rgds, James
  15. Just my 2 cents worth of view..... for me i save by keeping my renovation cost low........my reno cost only 20k for my 5 rooms flat.......include all floor tiles(toilet included), metal window grills, house painting, kitchen done etc etc.....cos i met a nice reno uncle... and also my concept is to have a spacious house rather than a well decorated house.....when i see newspaper it say that reno cost for 5 rooms is 80k to 100k......i am thinking.....too high......but it maybe high to me but shillings to many super rich.......so is subjective.... i save by buying those NTUC made products at NTUC........not buy those import product......i feel those NTUC brand products are cheaper. I also save by not owning a car but i have BMW instead......bus MRT walk..........i take bus to work and encourage my wife to do so........i remember last time i walk with my wife in the rain to take bus.....my friend drive pass me and joke with me the next day.......he say he saw me and wife walk in the rain look so pitiful.....i just laugh it off..........what to do..........at least i owe nobody anything...... actually i feel a person take taxi 10 times a month is ok...........but i usually take less than that.......if the place really super ulu.......i usually take MRT to its nearest MRT station then take a cab there....... i also exercise at the school i work in. I swim on my school swimming pool and jog in its stadium....i dont like to pay to exercise......i dont like to pay for entrance into gym or swimming pool....to me, exercise should be a right and should be a free thing..... Just my personal view Rgds, James
