Yeah heard that some contractor/ID quote very cheaply but along the way need to top up for things that need to be done. lots of hidden cost. So it's better to write down watever is given in the quote. Have a friend that do reno with an ID company. Price initially is 12k but end up paying 20+k cos lots of hidden cost.

Very hard loh. normally if i bargain with other stuff will have some discount one. but for Patrick, I try to bargain with him to reduce 1k he also dun wan. but nevertheless, we still go ahead with the reno with him.

Want to have a resort house but end up a cozy feel house. bobian.. limited budget Dunno where to install leh. if take out liao cannot hang clothes to dry. outside the the house also have one (non-retractable) but i prefer hanging clothes indoor and those rugs and rags outdoor.

Sorry for late reply. Long time no come to this thread. yeah the clothes hanger are from HDB. but the position there doesn't allow me to have a dryer. luckily never buy cos the drying time for my clothes is 1 day which is still acceptable.

yeah as a boss, he also does the work. When the electrician not free and one of my downlight spoilt. he helped to repair my light. he also install light bulbs for us. he is real busy. whenever after he come to our house, he will rush to another home. Mrs Quek is nice. If for very urgent matters, u called her to ask Patrick or Ah Keong to call u back, she will call u back to ask whether Ah Keong or Patrick called already.

He won't mind. Initially we wanted to put window grilles to the whole house but after that we dropped the idea cos we dun have kids yet. We told him and he is ok with it and removed it from the quotation.

Initially i thought the price is on the high side. so i try to negotiate with him. But he never give any discount leh. But nevertheless, I still continue to start work with Ho Bee cos there are lots of good review about them. Now my reno is completed, I think it's not expensive at all cos whenever he can, he will give you FOC items without us asking. We would say we may need this. Then ask him what is the price. If not too expensive, he give us FOC. For the workmanship, it's good. I had one part of the TV console where the design pop out. Ah Keong sent Xiao Long to our house to fix it on the same day. I would say that they are those down to earth kind of contractor company where there is no gimmicks one.
