i used to have high expectations on this firm(not cheap). but...from high expectation to low then to no... when I asked ID question, for eg when will plumber come? is like asking him a millionaire dollar question? wonder what is the purpose for dragging? i thought faster do, i pay u faster. then ID can concentrate on other projects. I just dun understand him. ID is not old man someone, young energetic man. not those type who are forgetful but drag things a lot. zzz

it just doesnt justify service when Id is unreachable most of the time. though he called back the next day, by then, u already sian 1/2. i wonder is it my ID, or common practice, when I tell him 3 things, he will only complete 1 thing at a time. dont they find it a hassle to come again and again? y cant just do a few things together at one time? save the owner time and the workers' time.

yeah heng suay case. my tiler team was not too bad, but the carpentry workmanship not good, however they agree to change the really no good ones. it is the ID that I am angry with. calling his phone is like calling the radio line. highly not recommended. (my company not chew).

hi yeoman, what design you buy? hi jacky, the case trust assessor told me that there are some things which I can ask to replace. 1) 1 uneven tile (did i tell u that my ID said that my tiles is out of stock?) True or not, am not sure though. 2) workmanship of kitchen cabinet (going to be time-consuming if I asked them to rebuild) i have a tight deadline to move in as well. Assessor find that the place is not bad, defects are minor but still can go for case. U were saying that some of my defects are not acceptable, may i know what is not acceptable in your opinion before the final handover? thank you for your attention. =)

anyway, be mindful that along the way, ID's attitude may be not like the good angel you see before quotation. if u have the time, be at ur site when works are in progress. let me share some of my hiccups (all these can be prevented) 1) make sure the tiles that you selected is correct before laying. ( I have experience wrong model number, my tiles have no stock, hence delay, after laying, found hollow tiles changed, then tiles no more stock. Hard to believe but it is like that) 2) Shop for your lights, toilet accessories, know the pricing inside out, then go with ur ID, if prices are too high from what you compared, them ID u will buy on ur own. 3) if u have a kitchen mixer, you should buy a storage heater that run hot water on the mixer. Instant heater is only for the shower, pls note the difference. as for your $300 deposit, no point sueing the ID, the sueing process and the $ involved may be more than ur $300. Just sit at his office when you see potential customer, shout out loud about ur problem. best if they have expo exhibition, sit there and grumble to ur ID loud enough to alert other clients, u will see ur $300 very soon. before doing that, ask him y so much delay in refunding? give a timeframe, not sure if case helps. yesterday a neighbour who is also working in CASE came to my house. perhaps you can ask him for some advice. thanks ryuki for the reply. the visit 2 weeks ago, my house was like ^$^#$%^@, i was rather sad. but now it is about done. so...well..at least the waiting is ending soon. along the way, ID (any firm) will give a lot of 'reasons' when they do things. so are real, some are not. so we have to keep abreast of the info about reno. I read ur PM, i have been to Home In***** before for a quotation as well, served by the same ID. he was quite soft spoken. before he can make his sales pitch, a lady ID took over. At first I was quite tempted to engage them, looking at the package that I think I may save alot. But the design on their portfolio were rather normal. They did ask for the $100 design that I think is fair rather than those firm to ask for $500 or a $1000. but drop them when I realised they are sales designer more than interior design. ie did not know that supreme laminates has AC3 and AC5 grade and couldn't answer many of the reno common questions...

Thanks jacky for the advice. (my ans in brackets) - i hav not seen e actual defects, but base on my own perceptions, (1) some defects can b accepted, (ok) whereas (2) some canot b accepted. (what are those that cannot be accepted?) - e fact is sub-con (workers ngage by ID) sometimes do 'put aeroplane'. Many types of excuses & patterns. (the fact is they came but are always doing things only when I tell them, not automatic, workers believe that that is the standard, but it is not) - attendance, punctuality, attitude, diligence, responsiblity & pride wil reflect how e employees/workers treat his job & work. This applies 2 everbody in dis world. (I am not their boss, I cant control them though I have already paid 95%) - end of e day, all this in turn can b seen by e end products. In dis case, its e workmanship & how they rectify e defects done by them. (True) - many of e neighbours & frnds here had seen ur hm & e defects. Wat's their verdict? Well, they hav e same verdict - poor workmanship & coordination & irresponsibility. (Fact is yes, I have raised this to the ID, they don't mind changing for me but time is a factor now, I am at a disadvantage) - u gota accept e fact dat u r unlucky dis time. Seriously learn frm it s a painful lesson, u sure wil gain in e near future. (Sure, thanks) - u gota sit dn & analyse carefully, discus with family members if need 2. (1) Wat is ur priority rite now? (To solve the unacceptable defects, and move in) (2) How many times & wats e duration had u given them 2 rectify e defects? (Mininal time, about 1 week) (3) Do u really need them 2 rectify e defects? or rather izit a must? (Some are not but you have paid cold hard cash, I dont see y i should accept a sub standard goods when I know it can be better) (4) Do u care so much abt e freebies? (This point hurts, if I care about freebies, I would have signed with Home Interior at TPY with all sort of freebies, my ID company only gives a complimentary hood and hob, the solid surface has been cut in such a way to only suit that model of hood and hob, yes u may say, then i buy on my own, but I have a budget. I am not hard-up for freebies.) (5) R u willing 2 listen 2 others' kind advice & suggestion? (yes I am, i know most neighbours want me to shout at the sub con, turn face towards ID, go CASE etc.. meowie, babymario have seen my subcon, they know by shouting, by neing angry, doesn't work. Stop watever balance payment 2 them, totally cease e dealing with them. If u stil cant live with e defects, can fork out abit more by payin a min. sum of $$$, get a thirty party contractor 2 rectify 4 u. There r many who r willing & can do much better. (that will be last resort) - freebies is everybody's wish, including mi. If u willing 2 let it go, 4get abt e freebies, its not e rite time. i can intro u branded items at a gd price. In fact, this items r much better than ur freebies, in terms of designs, functions & value. ( I have answered the above) - majority of neighbours here feels dat u r being too nice. Many felt dat u r being bullied by an unprofessional ID. Frm e way they responded, its insulting. Mayb u r stubborn, try listen 2 neighbours here who r streetwiser than u. It works wonder by listening 2 others rather than waiting 4 miracle by sharing agony & unhappiness in e forum. ( I didnt wait for miracle, that is y i open my house to neigbours to comment, it helps by tell subcon/ID that I have been to various house, and this work they do is not standard work) - controling ur temp, doesnt help at all. u noes dat very well. So its time 2 turn around. (if killing is legal, I will kill them, if I have $$$$$, I will also kill them. =) - by keeping mum who's ur ID co & ID did not help u in anyway, everybody noes dat unless u cant see. With ur story & pix, ID co & ID name publicize, it may expedite e rectification process. u never noes if u wouldnt wana try. ID told me plumber cannot come today. Reason: accident. (plumber passed away) Me: my condolescence to plumber. (silence a while) ok, can you get a replacement plumber? ID: No. Me: I am sure your company have more than 1 plumbers? ID: The deceased is the plumber's coordinator brother, so the whole team did not work today. Me: Fine, what time is the tiler coming? ID: 4.30 pm. Me: (looked at watch, 12.45noon), able to ask tiler to come earlier? ID: (called tiler) mumbled that tiler will bring 2 workers to do up the uneven tiles. told tiler to replace 8 tiles when he come later. Me: (Rather pissed off that 2 out of 3 things cannot be done) u call me when the tiler reached, 4 hours here nothing to do. Please come with tiler, I do not want to talk to your tiler as you will know more of the technical terms, I do not want anymore miscommunication. ID left. Tiler came at 3.30pm (but only 1 person came-no tools, nothing) I saw tiler, I asked him who else is coming, he said no one. only him. I asked him did he know about the 8 tiles thing? Tiler said, he just got to know it and rushed down. Pity my heart. who is ID talking to in the morning? Eventually, NOTHING is done today. I have used up my leave.
