Hi there, would like to check if you have any water pressure issues with using a rain shower with an instant heater?  Also, could you let me know where did you buy your retractable tap and how much?  Many thanks!

Hello, water pressure w instant heater is not very good but i can live with it tho.

if u r someone who needs very good water pressure, go with storage heater.

All my taps are from taobao. :)

I would say that your brickwall is really the highlight of your cozy home! Its one of my nice to have in my future home but very scared on how pricey it may cost me

    Hello,

thank you for the compliment! :D

nowadays brickwall is pretty common in like very scandi theme house

It's not as pricey as you thought to be if you purchase the tiles in JB directly from craftstone warehouse or via taobao :)

    Thanks for the headsup!

Heng coz I wanted to consider white flooring - will definitely strike this out unless without tiles.

Not sure if this is relevant, do you think the brick wall deters lizards? I know that there's this old school lizard proofing treatment (makes the walls rough with many dots) but it doesn't work at all. I'm super terrified of lizards and can cause earthquakes if I'm stuck with one!

welcome! So far, i dont see lizards in my house yet. *cross fingers.

brickwall is pretty maintenance free tho, just some dusting now and then. ;)

u can get those lizard traps from daiso and hang it somewhere you think they might appear works pretty well (from the reviews in daiso fb group).

I've shopped so much on TB that I have to impose a self-ban and thought I'm quite zhai already but your buys really tops the cake! Never thought of shipping back tiles.

Now that you've pointed out the issue with tiles and grout, am thinking twice about wood tiles. How like that?

How much did the post-reno clean up cost? Could you share uncle's contact, or is the same as the generic contacts?

hahah! 过奖过奖! there people who buy more stuffs than i do! just that i took the risk for the tiles. and i recommended my friends (who wanted to have a brick wall) to buy from the same seller and have no regrets. IF i have a chance again, i would even buy subway tiles to overlay my toilet or something. hahaha!

Wood like tiles looks nice! if the grouting is not in white then most likely you will be fine! it wont look that out of place as a whole though. And more over wood like tiles have "grains" so it wont be very obvious if it's stained? I think as long as not white tiles with white grout will look okay!

    :)

My post reno cost me 299$. generic contact tho.

hahah yes I am intending to use instant heater also. so for the rain shower part it is not really like thunderstorm rain right hahahah. What about the hand held shower head? how's the pressure like ? :D would you still have gone for rain shower knowing the pressure?

hahah! ya definitely not thunderstorm. hahah!

Using rainshower w instant heater got a con tho. only one output can be connect to the heater. so mine was connected to the handheld. the rainshower is tapped to the HDB cold water pipe direct. so pressure is better than the handheld one.

if i know this prior earlier, i would have chose storage heater :lol:

    Hello xhomesweethomex!

Could you share Vincent's (curtains) contact with me please?
    Thank you in advance! :)

    Hello,

Sure! Vincent # nine three eight four nine two two eight.

had to spell it out because renotalk censor this number. :)

  9. Mine too, all the lightings are purchased from taobao and 1 year on, did not encounter any issues with them. not even a single one broke down.

if you are concern with the sticker, i would suggest you to get the lights locally however be prepared to pay at least 500% markup as compare to taobao.

Work has started since yesterday... From what I heard from E, yesterday was protection, today is hacking and tmr clearing debris.. My wife went down just now after work to see see... was quite amazed, hacking and clearing of debris has been done (so so so fast)... Surreal feeling... was very excited when she said arrive, and sending me the pictures while im still in office working.. wifey say must credit her for the photos

Last Sat we received the 3D from E. The first draft I honestly think was okay, but totally failed the scandi attempt I was looking at... I guess me and my wife are really really not designer background... lol.. making changes to the colours, and hopefully bring me closer to the feel ba... we changed some colours and received the 2nd drafts today... still awaiting one more colour change from E for Living Room and maybe we will tweak here and there abit more...

    Living Room

    1st draft

    2nd draft

    Kitchen

    1st draft

    2nd draft

    MBR

    1st draft

    IMG-20160604-WA0003.jpg

    2nd draft

    IMG-20160607-WA0001.jpg

First draft I was more daring, as wifey wanted black track lights, this light at dining

    Capture_1.jpg

and becos my estate's window are black... so i put in black frames, black ABS trimmings etc. As I am using 10.2 of Kompac plus for the table top for my Kitchen and the island in the Living room, I chose the laminate closest to 10.2 to give a more consistent look... I must say, the laminate looks quite disaster in 3D... Hence I am changing the laminate in living room... Its a learning experience, but a headache one... Hence i strongly recommend go to J&E if you have an idea of what you want... I have an idea, but I think I think too highly of myself...  :bangwall:

I also think the flooring plays a part for that "scandi" feel... One good example is from xhomesweethomex's house... You can take a look at his/her house from http://www.renotalk.com/forum/topic/71341-theoverusewoodwhiteblack-theme-home/

the house was overlay-ed a year after reno and in my opinion, further improve the look of the house... Too bad, no budget liao... Need to save more $$$, maybe also after a year den overlay ba.....

    Hello!

Am liking your first draft living room + 2nd draft kitchen combined! haha!

and yes, you can always overlay the flooring at a later stage if you are on budget like me. :lol:

For now, i think your 3D draft looks good!
