  1. I think what ppl usually do is include yellow lights for ambiance in there so you got 2 options when it comes to lights.
  2. Hihi! Totally can understand how you feel! But compromise is the key to all this madness! Haha! I do love the look that you've managed to achieve! I've seen pretty scandi inspired homes with strong colours like teal on the wall which the totally exudes masculinity yet keep the scandi feel to the house too! Looking forward to your updates as well! Your kitchen is like a dream come true
  3. I wonder if it's too much trouble for the carpenter to cut the drawers around the pipes though? Hmm... I recall them saying it's the same as 2 standard width wardrobes which I believe would make it 1.2m width... Not sure the length but we are leaving a 0.9m-1m walk way to the bed area... The vanity corridor we are leaving about 0.8 to 0.9m which will leave about 3.2m which will be just nice for a queen bed and 2 small bedside tables... I would never have believed everything would fit if we didn't bring the measuring tape into the room!
  4. I was thinking what I want to put in the bathroom then I realised it's true... there really is nothing much that needs to be put in there that can't be stored in the storeroom... Moreover with just the 2 of us I doubt we have that much toiletries too right? Haha! True! and it's probably easier for them to repair the pipes without the drawers in the way I suppose! I do love the look of the drawers though! Dilemma!! :S Thank you! I can't wait to see it too! I also thought it might be the colours too so I asked the ID to invert the colours to a lighter colour and use the darker colour as trimmings like the laminates in my kitchen... That being said, I don't think I shared the images of my laminates yet so I'll do that soon! The sink we haven't go and source so that's just a default that the ID's drafter put in... Though my fiance's against rectangle flat sinks as he thinks like residues will get "stuck" on the sink and very difficult to wash it down from the side... Nope! Mine in Tampines. I've sent to you
  5. I'm so saving this post babe! I only know about white vinegar for cleaning anything and everything! Hahah!
  6. Hahah! I'm just going to see what my ID's gonna suggest. How you dealing with storage of things in the bathroom?
  7. Mine's going to double check with the carpenter about the practicality issue too... But hinges very old school ah! Do you have a drawing of yours?
  8. I've got Kompacplus top for the bathroom vanity too so should be ok! Though I really want drawers instead of the hinge doors.
  9. That's what I told my ID!! Though I admit I didn't give it much thought until he sent me the pic with carpentry for the bathroom!
  10. So I've finally received the 2nd drafts including the master bathroom carpentry's first draft. I think they've more or less captured what I want for the rest of the pictures but something's just not right about the bathroom carpentry. Somehow, it just doesn't look like it fits in with the scandi theme? I think it's probably a little orbiang (old fashioned)? Please tell me I'm not the only one that thinks it needs work?? The other photos for your viewing pleasure! Think the drafter's forgot we wanted the full length one instead... but this looks pretty too~ Decisions decisions... Seeing the IKEA PS 2014 ladder shelf I bought to store my vanity stuff makes me think my decision to go with it was the right one!! XOXO, Sapphira
  11. Oh cool! Hope yours turns out well! Will stay tuned for your masterpiece showcase!
  12. Thank you!! It's been a very long time but I would like to get my arty fingers back! I'm sure I can manage something like this?? *Fingers crossed*
  13. So agree must high enough to rest the head! I checked out Commune and think quote ex though I haven't look into other places yet... I've shortlisted from Castlery too!! OMG...
  14. Okies so I've figured out that using Photobucket is my best bet at getting more photos on here. I was on a writer's block for a couple of weeks but now I've figured out what to write about!! This is probably going to be something I'll look forward to when we are close to moving in and that's adding the finishing touches to our apartment! Yes you've got it! It's decorating with knick knacks and art. First! I've recently got into watching Mr. Kate on youtube and I have to say I love how it seems like ang mohs can just decorate without being like us build-in everything! They just have carpentry for essentially the kitchen. The rest they buy... Super cool! So it got me thinking about the art work that I wanna feature in the various rooms. Bedroom - I'm going for tranquil but I'm liking also strong accents of teal/aquamarine like the photos below. Love the above Mr. Kate makeover!! The room looks so much like a hotel! Only problem is that if I put art work above the bedhead, where do I put our wedding potrait?? Does anyone have any clue?? Typography Art - some for the entry way probably on a console near the door... Being the lazy woman I am... Office Prints - I'm so in loveeee with this one! Fiance gets the S*** done! I'm probably going to try DIY with canvas and acrylic paint and I've googled for somewhere other than Art Friend to get my supplies! Anyone's tried Overjoyed before? Anyway here are some colour scheme that the abstracts/backgrounds will follow... And they hopefully will turn out to look like that! Will be back when I gather enough knick-knack ideas! Ta! XOXO, Sapphira
  15. Look forward to seeing yours too! I'm going for a ceiling fan but I've got no ceiling works so I guess I only need to worry about the shadow issue!
  16. Hihi! Have PM-ed you! Hope it helps!
  17. Another thing! I think I've max out the number of photos that I can have in my album in the gallery. How can I create another one??
  18. Haha! Weird but I suppose they have to start implementing from somewhere! Haha!
  19. Hi Sunnydays! I realised I missed out on your post previously! I totally cannot wait for the work on my house to start... My ID confirmed that they've placed an order to reserve the tiles HDB used on my house so that my extension kitchen area can have the same tiles as the rest of the kitchen... I'm so envious of you that you've started work alr... can't wait to be posting everyday! I've got a slight inspiration while researching yesterday to blog so I might do a short post later or tomorrow. Stay tuned! Hi djnt! Yep! It's essentially 2 wardrobes back to back against each other. My ID said the mechanisms in the wardrobe got certain dimensions one so if I want 2 sided have to build 2 and back against each other. Then they measured the space and confirm I got enough for queen bed and 2 side tables some more.. Phew! I'm not sure it's actually a good idea to cut the hole actually cause if you have internal colour laminates for your wardrobe the light might fade your laminates in time? I think you're clothes might as well... If you don't need to access a ledge from that window I would think you should just seal it off. At least that is what I would do. Hahah! I was against the L-shaped idea cause there is that corner in the L which seems too deep to get the clothes in/out easily. But I think there's a like "lazy susan" type mechanism that I've seen people fit in.
  20. or you could do like mine on both sides then sacrifice the bedside tables for the king bed... Haha!
  21. babe! mine also just enough space to put bedside table though thinking of whether to buy the BRIMNES bed with the storage headboard to save space not! haha! I should get my ID to tape like your one too so that can gauge the space needed... Cool idea... I think I saw somewhere on youtube that this is a good way to determine your furniture max size too..
  22. You buy so much stuff already! Where you store them? I'm restraining myself cause no place to put! Haha!
  23. Haha... At least you got things to keep you busy!! I wish I had the renos to keep me busy but we're starting slowly.. also can only blame us cause we don't need to move in too quickly. But can't help but be so excited cause this is our first home! The fiance also not much outward excitement but he does say inside he's doing his happy dance la... I think he just wants to have his own space, the rest I can deal with~
  24. Totally bookmarked!! Even tells you how to deal with the spray painting! Can't wait to get my hands on stuff that I can DIY!
  25. Hahah! Still it's a good tip! I haven't bought my hood so I will go check it out! Thanks babe!
